2022 GMC SIERRA 1500- Longview, TX
Had a prior recall a few months back on my truck in reference to the engine. My truck didn’t have an engine issue such as check engine light etc etc etc which required attention. So they only changed the oil to a different velocity. On Sunday afternoon August 23, 2026 while driving on Interstate 20 near Longview, Texas the truck shut off. I had to get it towed to the Chevy dealership (Peltier Chevy in Tyler, Texas).

2025 GMC SIERRA 2500- Indio, CA
My 2025 GMC Sierra 2500 experienced repeated electrical failures that caused complete battery drainage and multiple overnight no-start conditions within the first year of ownership. These failures occurred in extreme desert heat, where temperatures in [XXX] reach 120°F. A vehicle that repeatedly fails to start in these conditions creates a serious safety hazard, including risk of heat-related medical emergencies if stranded. The defect persisted despite multiple repair attempts and two battery replacements. The dealership ultimately told me I would “need to replace batteries as needed,” instead of diagnosing the underlying electrical issue. Detailed Description of the Problem Multiple overnight no-start incidents Several jump-start events required XXX – 15,265 miles: Battery replaced due to electrical drainage XXX: Battery replaced again for the same defect Electrical system continued to fail after repairs Dealer advised ongoing battery replacement rather than addressing root cause The truck was unreliable and unsafe in extreme heat. A no-start condition in 120°F temperatures can leave occupants stranded without air conditioning, posing a life-threatening risk. Frequency of the Problem The electrical failure occurred multiple times over several months, including late 2025, early 2026, and again in mid-2026. The defect was consistent and repeatable. Consequences Risk of being stranded in extreme heat Loss of air conditioning during no-start events Potential for heat exhaustion or heat stroke Vehicle unreliable for daily use Safety hazard for driver and passengers INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2026 GMC SIERRA 1500- GILLETTE, WY
Truck milage at the time of engine failure was 9,101. Well past the break in period for towing. We were towing a car trailer 2,000 pounds less the max towing capacity for the truck and going less than the posted speed limit. The truck was also in tow haul mode. The truck dash flashed oiled heating hot. We tried to pull over on the highway then the truck lost all power and overheated. Our trailer was not all the way off the highway, so a WY State Trooper pulled behind us and kept his lights flashing for 3 hours until a tow truck came. Truck could not be placed in neutral, so it had to be dragged onto the flat bed ramp of the tow truck. Truck was towed to the Gillette WY GMC dealership that same day. On Monday we were informed that the engine failed and needed to be totally replaced. The GM dealer cannot tell us how long it will take to get the new engine or how long we will be without the truck. This is the 6.2 V8 which GM assured buyer's of 2026 vehicles that the engine failures reported on previous year vehicles had been rectified on the new models. Less than 10,000 and the engine failed.

2019 GMC YUKON XL- Johnstown, CO
Vehicle started showing a po308 code. Called sewell gmc In midland where I purchased the vehical they were 2 months out on diagnostic services. So I took it to another shop. They ran a camera into the problem cylinder and for scaring on the walls. They said it was due to the afm system and the engine was unrepairable. So now I am out 17,000 dollars and stranded over 700 miles from my home due to a manufactured defect.

2023 GMC SIERRA 1500- Arvada, CO
During a family camping trip, our engine seized without warning — a failure directly tied to an active GMC recall. Despite this being a manufacturer defect, GMC roadside assistance refused to provide full support and informed us that we were responsible for towing our trailer home. This placed an unreasonable financial and logistical burden on us during an already distressing situation. To make situation worse when we brought the vehicle to O’Meara GMC for the recall repair Four months prior. They kept our truck for an entire week, only to inform us that their “solution” was to put heavier-weight oil in the engine. This is not a recall repair. It is not a fix. It is a temporary workaround that demonstrates clear incompetence and an inability or unwillingness to replace the motor as required under the recall. O’Meara GMC failed to perform the recall repair, failed to replace the engine, and failed to provide any meaningful resolution. Their actions have left us with a vehicle that is unsafe, unreliable, and not repaired according to GMC’s own recall standards.

Lifter/camshaft/engine failure. GM knows this is an issue with these models/years. They only want to cover half of the repair sticking me with a bill for $5600. Safety is a concern because they know this is an issue and not issuing a recall currently. I waS driving when this happened which could have caused me to get into an accident. Very dangerous. Car is currently as GMC Started by showing low oil in between oil changes last year. Went in for an oil change and told them about it. Dealership told me it was the air hose box and that they didn't see any other issue. I believe they are told to lie to get each customer further out of warranty. I was driving and all of a sudden the car started violently shaking and lights started flashing at me.
