Loss of power while driving, no warnings, no lights on dash, no unusual noises, and no codes. The Yukon just randomly went into neutral while driving 65 mph and "Press Start Again" popped up on the dash. I struggled to get the truck to the side of the road safely. After getting the truck into park it started back up, and I was able to make it the 3 miles home. I scheduled it to go into the dealership as it still is making no noises, and had no engine light or codes, about 2 miles from my house it shut off again while driving, only this time when it restarted it now has a ticking sound coming from the engine however no warning lights and no codes being displayed. I am reporting this as I believe it falls under the open investigation EA25007, although it clearly is the same failures others have experienced on models that were included in the recall 25V-274. I am also attempting to contact GM as my vehicle is no longer under the powertrain warranty that was not extended for the vehicles that were not included in the recall.

The bearings in my engine failed while on the road! The dealer says I need a full engine replacement for $16,000. There were no warnings or indication there was a problem. The vehicle has been maintained perfectly since it’s purchase.

I was driving on the interstate and the upper grill broke off of the truck and hit my windshield.

There is an active recall for the 6.2 L engines, which is what I have and it’s an issue with burning oil and catastrophic engine failure due to rods and bearings. And I just got this vehicle in November and I have already went through 15 quarts of oil in two months so I’m waiting for my engine to blow up going down the road to cause a wreck like has happened to multiple vehicles already and I also have a rod knock now due to this issue so it could be any time now that my engine fails and I end up getting hurt or my family I took it to the Chevy dealership and I have called GM to do an oil consumption test and to put in a claim so that way if it does fail, then it has paperwork to follow, but it is a major safety concern but something needs to be done considering there’s already 600,000 recalls on this issue already there needs to be more for the rest of the people that are having this issue like myself and I’m spending $50,000 on this truck for the engines to fail and me end up dying before something‘s done. and it’s also very distracting as you’re driving down the road and your vehicle tells you that you’re low on all so you have to try to find a way to get off the highway to have someone bring you all so you can continue to drive and it’s not just a cordial. It is up to 5 quarts of all at a time.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) in October 2025, and the vehicle was taken for inspection. The vehicle passed the inspection, and the recall was closed. The following month, while driving approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power and decelerated to approximately 30 MPH with an abnormal clanking sound coming from near the engine compartment. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road and waited before driving 30 MPH to a nearby dealer. The check engine warning light and an unknown sensor light were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that there was a loss of power due to engine failure and that the engine needed to be repaired. The engine was replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.

While driving on a major highway at approximately 60 to 65 mph the vehicle shut down loss of power and steering without any warning lights. I was able to safely maneuver the vehicle to the emergency lane and contacted AAA to have it towed to nearest dealership. A fuel pump module was replaced- I have been following gmc recent recall of 600k which gives same scenario for their larger engine failure not including the 5.3L Ecotec V8 that I own. I experienced the same failure. Although it was fixed as a sensor module fault, I believe it’s a bigger problem that is not being addressed.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Yukon XL. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH on the highway and attempting to accelerate around a possible drunk driver traveling on the roadway, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The driver was able to pull over safely. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called 911 and called for Roadside Assistance, and the vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with an engine failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was previously taken to the local dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.

6.2L lifter failure camshaft destroyed. Complete top end rebuild cost me $8500. Same problem as the previous recall.

Internal engine failure Car just shut off on expressway, putting the safety of my husband and child at risk. Waiting for a tow at 12:30 in the morning. Problem has been confirmed by dealer. No warning lamps or warnings signs prior to failure. Car just shut down and was not able to start again. Had to be towed!
