GMC Complaints

There was an engine recall on the vehicle that was inspected and passed. My wife noticed the vehicle shaking while she was driving and the engine mounts ended up being broken. They replaced the engine mounts and they had it up on the lift when they reported that engine failed. They replaced the motor and gave the vehicle back to us. About 2 weeks later my wife noticed a grinding. She took it in and they said the differential needed to be flushed. That would be at our cost. Then they did that and it did not fix the issue. So they determined it was the rear differential that needed to be replaced. We got the car back after another 2 weeks and it was fine for about 2 weeks. My wife noticed another grinding and we turned it in before the warranty expired and now they have to replace the rear struts. All in all over the last 6 months the car has been in the shop for at least 2 months getting repairs because of major catastrophic failures in their components.

We were driving down the interstate at about 75 mph when a message came up that said to shift to neutral and push the start button. My husband did and it continued to drive perfectly fine, but about 6 miles down the road it did the same thing again except when he pushed the start button it did not start. I cannot begin to tell you the cause as to why it would’ve been doing that as I have never had any other issues with it.

I am reporting a paint failure issue on my 2022 GMC Yukon involving significant paint peeling above the windshield area.

The high pressure fuel pump, the car randomly goes into limp mode and stalls and then when cranking it back up in the middle of 635 it hesitates to start, done this 3 times already

OnStar quite working, light nothing. Called Onstar, told me I need to take to the dealer.

Friday night coming home. While entering my driveway. The check engine light came on. The engine sounded really bad. Rough idling. Saturday morning. Took it to a mechanic shop. While on my way to the shop, the truck had loss of power. The first mechanic shop told me that the truck was having engine failure. Was not sure at the time but the L 87 is known for having lifters and bearing failure. Monday the truck was taken to the dealership Novak motors. For extended warranty, repair or possible engine replacement. It has been two weeks. Have not heard anything yet. But the timing of the incident was good. Because the engine failed when I was pulling in to my driveway.

The OnStar vehicle locater, GPS maps, clock (auto update) are not responsive as of the 2nd week of December 2025. My truck cannot be located via OnStar, I cannot use the GPS Maps for directions, and the Clock reads 12 minutes fast when I put it into Auto Update mode. Reported to my GMC dealer (Elizabeth City GMC, Elizabeth City, NC 27909, and had in for service 3 times without correction of the issue! The dealership conducted a Software System Update which cost me $400.00, and still did not correct the issue. I spoke with OnStar three (3) times to try and correct issues but they did not resolve the problems either. OnStar stated it is a GMC issue............My last service at the Elizabeth City GMC dealer the Service Tech stated the OnStar Module is bad and requires replacement, and stated it will be an additional $550.00 +/-!!! Please advise and assist in further action I can take as this issue should be a Warranty issue and replaced by GMC and/or OnStar!!! Class Action Suit in line! Thank you.

Bought the truck less than four months ago and as of yesterday it consumed a substantial quantity of oil and later refill. However today it made a noticeable noise until it shut off permanently. Dealer did not disclose this

70mph with cruise control on, truck shifted from drive to neutral uncomanded. There were no indications of the issue before it happened. The dealer has the truck and I havent heard back from them yet. From my limited research, this is a common problem for these trucks.

Apparently many vehicles like mine and including mine have defective radiator hoses or a poor set up with routing causing issues with the hoses. They are developing cracks/leaks causing poor circulation in the cooling system as well as possible engine failure. In speaking to mechanics and reading forum posts, it is evident that this is a large scale issue.
