2022 GMC TERRAIN- Timmonsville, SC
My wife was driving down the road and all of a sudden the car just shut off and wouldn’t start back up. She called me and I went to her and tried to get the started with no progress so I called a tow truck to come pick it up and come to the mechanic shop to have it fixed. They run a diagnostic test on it and it was the fuel module. Called the gmc in my town and the said it was not covered under warranty or there wasn’t a recall on it either. W needed my car fixed so I called around to find a fuel module and finally found one in north Myrtle Beach. I had to go and pick it up around 75 miles from where I live and bought it back to the mechanic. He put in on and that fixed the problem. A lot of the 22 Terrian’s has a recall but mine doesn’t. I would like to know why mine doesn’t and it only has 53,000 miles and mine falls in the same category as all the others. I think I should be reimbursed having to pay to have mine repaired.

2022 GMC SIERRA 1500- Phoenix, AZ
I received a new engine. Went in 8/15 - 9/10. Truck was dead on 9/22 when State Farm sent out a guy to replace the windshield that came back broken from the dealership. I had put in a new battery on 4/17, before I even knew about the recall. I got the battery out and replaced under warranty from AutoZone. Before we connected the 2nd new battery, my friend checked the oil...just for fun. There's barely any oil on the dipstick. Service guy told me I'm checking the oil wrong, that it needs to be running for a while, so that's why it's reading low. Okay!!!! LOL. 7 days later, truck was dead again. Last week, 10/21, I'm told by GM Customer Support to Not have it towed in yet until I hear back from a senior advisor, after telling her my long winded story. She said it would be within 48 hours. 72 hours passed and nothing. Supposedly I'm receiving a call at 12:51pm today, yes that's correct, that's literally what they told me when I called in yesterday. I'm having the truck towed in today, 10/29. I continue to be jerked around, ignored, lied to from all angles of GM. My truck has been inoperable and/or unsafe to drive for over 6 months now, costing me all of my income from my 2 jobs that require my truck. GM needs to be held accountable.

2019 GMC SIERRA 1500- Pomona Park, FL
At approximately 61,500 miles, the engine malfunctioned while cruising on a 4-lane highway at 45 MPH. The problem was diagnosed by an independent mechanic as a crankshaft rod bearing failure. This failure happened despite all recommended maintenance being performed with specified parts. This failure caused a safety concern as the vehicle was in motion at the time of the failure, increasing the potential for a collision due to the vehicle becoming disabled on a highway. The engine was replaced at a cost of approximately $13,500 parts and labor. Vehicle was out of service for two months due to a waiting list on replacement L87 engines.

2020 GMC SIERRA 1500- FORT WORTH, TX
Rod bearings spun and engine locked up while driving 70mph on the freeway. I was in traffic, and had to work my way over and off to the shoulder of the road. The engine was diagnosed and replaced by Hiley GMC at a cost of nearly $5,000 out of my pocket. This was at approximately 63,000 miles. Just out of warranty. No loaner vehicle provided. I was without my truck for 2 months. There were no warnings at all. No lights or noises of any kind. Rod bearings spun again on the replacement engine approximately 35,000 mile later. It happened same as before. Driving on the freeway at 70mph, and the engine seized. No power steering, no warning noises or lights. I had to coast across lanes through traffic and onto the shoulder. Diagnosed and replaced by Jerry's GMC. They replaced the motor at no charge except I had to provide the new radiator because it was on backorder. They had the truck for over 3 months and I had no loaner vehicle. With approximately 65,000 miles on the latest engine, a lifter went out. I put it in the shop to have all the lifters replaced, and motor mounts replaced at a cost of $6500. Upon taking the truck for a test drive, the engine seized in traffic under an overpass and blocked one lane of traffic. The shop dropped the oil pan to check it out, and, lo and behold, this engine has spun rod bearings again. There is definitely a serious and dangerous problem with the L87 6.2L. Being a 2020, it is not currently included in the recall, but it needs to be included. I spun bearings the first time in August of 2021. I was hoping it was just bad luck. I hadn't heard of all the instances at the time. I've never had a major engine failure prior to this model, and this one has failed 3 times in the same truck with meticulous maintenance.
