2015 GMC YUKON XL- Loranger, LA
The transmission shifts hard in low gears. I have done research, and it seems like this is a common problem that a vast amount of these vehicles have. I honestly think that this is has to be looked into for a recall. There is countless information on the web with videos, other owners, and transmission businesses explaining about it.

2024 GMC SIERRA 1500- Bakersfield, CA
The first time the truck stopped and wouldn’t want to start (engine light came up) after a few minutes and with a push the truck turned on. Next day while driving on freeway the truck shift hard pulling vehicle back as if it was going to stop without braking. Took truck to GMC dealer on 9/26/25 for an inspection with approx 17,000 miles. Oct. 17, 2025 GMC rep said my truck was inspected/ good to go and was ready for pick up. Not sure what part they had replaced. On Oct. 18, 2025 picked up truck while leaving dealer I had my family in my truck about 3 miles into my drive we heard a loud clunk and the truck shifted hard slowing the truck down and display reduce acceleration drive with care and check engine light on. Have in mind we were on a busy traffic street driving while other cars had to pass us because we couldn’t speed up. I did not feel safe with my children in the car, left it again for the 2nd time with GMC service dept. Now we are almost reaching to a 30 day grace period without our vehicle.

2020 GMC SIERRA 1500- Collierville, TN
I noticed a ticking sound in my 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT 5.3 Liter on 10/15/2025 after it was serviced at an Authorize Buick GMC Dealership on 10/13/2025. I made an appointment and returned the vehicle to the dealership for further inspection on 10/17/2025. I was informed later that day that my truck has lifters and camshaft failure. If my truck had stalled or stopped on the express way, myself and others safety could have been at risk. My truck has only been looked at by the dealership at this time, and it is available for inspection upon request. There were no warning lights, check engine lights, messages or symptoms prior to the failure. I did get a low oil level message in April 2024 when the dealership stated they must not have put the correct amount of oil in my truck during an oil change on 1/29/2024. They inspected my truck and assured me there was no damage done to my Engine from this issue. I have recently learned there is a recall for GM Vehicles manufactured between 2021 and 2024 with the 6.2L engine installed. I am not sure why this recall does not include 2020 trucks with the 5.3L engines installed. Apparently, the same problems exist with these engines also. I received an estimate for repair approximately $13,000 which can increase once the engine is town down and inspected further. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

2019 GMC TERRAIN- Colfax, IA
I was driving home from vacation the vehicle went into limp mode and started to run very poorly with a brake pedal that was almost impossible to push. I limped the vehicle a couple of miles to the next exit. I had the car trailered home and taken to a service center the following Monday. They inspected the vehicle and found the vacuum pump had failed and caused what was described as “catastrophic engine failure.” They are now saying it needs a full motor replacement due to the widespread and severe damage. This is not the first time this pump has been an issue or supposed issue. About a year before this incident a month after we bought the vehicle in used condition from a GM dealership it started making a noise. We took it back to see if they could help us out being that it was recently purchased and they diagnosed it as the vacuum pump making the noise. They wanted almost $800.00 to replace it. I googled a video on how to fix it and found the cost of the part. The part itself is between $75-$90 from local and name brand parts stores. I paid the $250 diagnostic fee and took it somewhere else for a second opinion. The GM dealership pushed hard for the vacuum pump replacement and told me it was a well known issue for that part on that motor in many different makes and models. They said they recommend you change that mechanical part out every 80k miles or so and that you do not go by what the owners manual says for oil changes which is 5k miles and instead do that every 3k miles. That should not be “preventative maintenance.” That is a manufacturer issue. This should be a recall on the pump. I again did research and this vacuum pump is a known issue. You can find endless examples and discussions about it. It turned out not to be the pump originally that was making the noise saving me $800. The service center that has it now has all the pictures and pieces to show it’s failure and damage. It’s unsafe for something $85 dollars to cause that while driving at any time.
