  • 2023 GMC SIERRA 1500
    - Austin, TX

On [XXX], at approximately [XXX], while driving northbound on [XXX] between [XXX] and [XXX] (Austin, TX) at roughly 65?mph, I suddenly heard a loud cracking and popping sound from the front of the vehicle. As I began to ease off the gas, unsure of what was happening, I observed what appeared to be a black object quickly shoot upward from the front driver’s side of the vehicle while traveling at highway speed. I immediately took the next exit [XXX] ) to assess the situation. I had no idea what to expect; my mind kept jumping to either hitting road debris or maybe even a blowout. To my astonishment, once I was safely on the side of the road and out of my vehicle, I noticed that the front left fender flare had completely detached from the vehicle suddenly and without warning while cruising at normal highway speeds. The 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 in question had approximately 29,800 miles at the time of this incident. I immediately contacted the dealer to schedule a repair, and all pertinent records, including photographs and a repair invoice, can be made available upon request. Reverse lights stay on. Causing the battery to drain. The fuse box under the hood is prone to go bad. Even with no corrosion. GM knows this and has not fixed the issue. Its a common problem going back many years. The need to upgrade the fuse box under the hood & the wiring harnesses. My taillight harnesses were completely burned up. The truck could of caught fire. This should be a recall. Instead GM wants to take the money they are making off all the fuse boxes they are selling.

  • 2021 GMC YUKON XL
    - cincinnati, OH

My 2021 GMC Yukon XL Denali is part of the April 2025 recall for the 6.2L V8 engine defect. The dealership confirmed the engine must be replaced, but the part is on backorder, potentially for several months. In the meantime, GMC only authorized a GMC Acadia as a courtesy vehicle. The Acadia is not comparable to our Yukon XL. We are a family of six, and while the Acadia has a third row, there is almost no cargo space with it in use. Our Yukon XL has over three times the cargo capacity, which is necessary for safely transporting luggage and sports equipment during our frequent trips (2–3 times per month). Because of this, we have already been forced to rent a larger SUV at our own expense for a recent trip. GMC’s Courtesy Transportation Program states that owners should receive comparable transportation during recall repairs. Despite escalating through the dealership, GMC Customer Assistance, and even the regional manager, we were denied a comparable loaner or guaranteed rental coverage. This leaves our family in an unsafe and impractical situation while waiting months for the recall repair.

  • 2022 GMC SIERRA 1500
    - Carriere, MS

My motor locked up a year ago. Before the recall. At 74k miles. GM stated they did not know why it happened. Although there was 6 of the same trucks in their lot under 20k miles with the same problem. I was forced to pay out of pocket. I notified my GM dealer that my engine was knocking at 15k miles and they did nothing. Now that I have a new engine I have brought it to the dealer 3 times because it is also knocking. They’ve told me they hear it but theirs no code so nothing wrong with it….. GM refused to help me in any way nor will they help me get a reimbursement for their manufacture defective engine that I payed for. I had to take a $10k loan out to get back on the road. Every day that passes I am paying more interest because of GM. They will not even let my bring it in for an inspection and the heavier weight oil (they want me to pay diagnostic fee HA) I don’t want to take legal action but it feels like if I don’t, GM is going to ruin my life. Such a Blatant disregard for the customer. This whole thing has put me in such a terrible financial crisis I’ve been living check to check since this happened. PLEASE HELP ME.

  • 2020 GMC TERRAIN
    - Stryker, OH

I have been having intermittent problems for well over 1 year with my vehicle not accelerating. I try to accelerate from a stop, the vehicle does not respond. I have the accelerator pedal pressed to the floor nothing happens for 10-15 seconds, then vehicle will lurch forward and start responding. This has happened several times as I am pulling into traffic. Major safety concern that could cause severe injury or fatality. I also have other issues with vehicle not shifting gears, engine feels as though it is skipping while driving. I have taken this to the dealership and was told that they could not recreate the issue. No engine code or service lights have ever displayed. Dealership told me is can't be anything major since there are no codes or service lights. Currently have 72,000 miles, did purchase an extended warranty. I have seen many complaints of this same problem from other Terrain owners. GMC needs to fix this problem before someone is killed in a collision because their product won't accelerate.
