Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2017 GMC Yukon XL. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to an independent mechanic for repair, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 203,000 and at the time of the vehicle servicing, it was discovered that the mileage was 335,142 in the diagnostic report.

Driving down the road and I got a service trailer brake code pop up and would not go away and kept dinging It is very distracting and sometimes causes the trailer brakes to malfunction

While in the parking lot of a local grocery store, I shifted the vehicle into reverse, at which point all dashboard warning lights immediately illuminated and the braking response became significantly weakened and nearly unresponsive. I placed the vehicle back into park, paused, and then attempted to shift into reverse again, but the dashboard alerts and brake issue persisted. This created a very unsafe driving situation because the brake system was very unresponsive. Despite the unsafe condition, I cautiously drove to my home 2miles away at a speed of under 20 MPH, requiring excessive brake pressure to bring the vehicle to a stop. I parked the vehicle in my driveway and left it there overnight. The next morning, I tested the brakes, and they seemed to return to normal so I drove 5 miles to my local GMC service center. Service Tech confirmed Check Engine Light On and reported code P0700 and P00FF in the report.

The contact owns a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled, lost motive power, with smoke came from the engine compartment. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact attempted to start the vehicle and noticed a knocking sound coming from the engine with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that parts were not yet available. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle had a Salvage Title and would not be repaired under the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

This is the second time in 2 days!! While driving ~35MPH the truck experienced a harsh transmission shift followed by a sudden loss of acceleration and entered shutdown mode to protect the engine. The steering became stiff, all dashboard warning lights illuminated, and a message appeared on the driver display indicating a transmission issue and advising to drive with caution. This created an extremely hazardous condition for me while driving on s busy stretch of road. I pulled onto the side of the road, came to a complete stop, shifted into park, and turned off the engine. Upon restarting the vehicle, the Check Engine Light remained on, and the transmission continued to shift abnormally at low speeds, including some noticeable shuddering. My GMC application recorded the issue and reminded me to schedule service.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Canyon. While the contact’s son was driving approximately 35 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to slow for a traffic signal and the brake pedal was stiff. The contact stated that his son needed to use force to depress the brake pedal. There were several unknown warning lights on the instrument cluster. The contact stated that the phone app showed a failure with the ABS. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer. The dealer was not able to duplicate the failure and cleared the codes from the warning lights but provided no information on the fault codes. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

The contact owns a 2023 GMC Yukon XL. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced a blown engine and the vehicle lost automotive power. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to exceed 40 MPH while depressing the accelerator pedal. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the valve lifter bank was destroyed. The vehicle was repaired at the owner's expense. In addition, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

The contact owns a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, there was an abnormal vibration coming from the steering wheel. No warning light was illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and transferred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,326.

I don't know sometimes wrong with the electrical issue before I got to dive into it I had got some damages from death or vandalism

The coolant control valve (Part # 24001355) has failed. Apparently this is the case with many vehicles and GM will not/can not get replacement parts. This should be a recall.
