2024 GMC TERRAIN- Cleveland, OH
infotainment system safety issues. I have video. Multiple times per week when starting the car and backing the rear camera engages. When placing car in drive the rear camera never shuts off, the sound volume doesn't work, the entire infotainment system completely malfunctions. The safety is when attempting to function the controls the volume will turn up and not able to turn it down, the screen flashes and the infotainment systems controls on the steering wheel do NOT function. I've had it to the dealer and they indicate PIC6591A from March 3rd 2025 is logged. When contacting GMC corporate they refuse to give any information. The PIC spans across many GMC vehicles including 2019 models. Why hasn't this been addressed? My son drives a 2024 Chevy Trax and this car has no issues like the my car does. His car also doesn't have the transmission/gear shift buttons like the 2024 terrain does. Anyone else having issues with the GMC infotainment systems, black screen, malfunction? I have video.

2009 GMC SIERRA 1500- Omaha, NE
To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this report regarding repeated engine and valve lifter failures in my 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 5.3L V8 engine, VIN: [XXX] . 1. Component/System Malfunctioned: Both the original engine and a replacement engine—professionally installed by a Chevrolet dealership—experienced valve lifter failure related to the Active Fuel Management (AFM) system. The most recent failure was sudden and unexpected. The engine may be available for inspection upon request. 2. Safety Risk: Engine failure puts driver and passenger safety at serious risk, particularly if the vehicle loses power unexpectedly while in motion. In both instances, the failure created unsafe driving conditions. 3. Reproduction/Confirmation: The issue was confirmed by a Chevrolet dealership during the initial engine failure and again more recently on the current engine, which is now exhibiting the same failure. 4. Inspection Status: The vehicle has been inspected by the same dealership that performed the original engine replacement. To my knowledge, it has not been inspected by GM corporate, police, or insurance representatives. 5. Warning Signs: There were no warning lamps, messages, or clear symptoms prior to the failure. The problem occurred without advance notice and did not provide an opportunity to address it before damage occurred. This is the second engine failure my truck has suffered from the same issue, even after dealership installation of a new motor. I urge the NHTSA to investigate whether this represents a broader defect in GM 5.3L AFM-equipped engines. It is unacceptable that repeated critical failures can occur in these engines with no warning and no resolution, even after following proper replacement procedures. Thank you for your attention. 2022 GMC YUKON XL- Holladay, UT
I recently purchased a used 2022 Yukon XL Denali (with 6.2 Engine). 8 days after purchase, I was pulling a boat trailer, when all of the sudden the vehicle lost power on I-80. The vehicle automatically shifted to Neutral. I was luckily able to get to the left lane and there happened to be an offramp right there that I was able to coast to and be off the freeway. I pushed the Park button and then tried to restart the engine. Then I noticed the check engine light was on. Nothing happened when I pushed the start button. I called a tow truck and could not get the vehicle out of Park. The tow truck operator had to pull the vehicle on to the flatbed with the rear wheels locked in Park. I got the vehicle taken to a dealer and they said the engine needed to be replaced. Luckily, the vehicle has just less than 60,000 miles so it is covered by GM's power train warranty. The is still with a dealer being fixed. Potentially in a week I will get the vehicle back. This is scary that there is NO warning and all of the sudden the engine stops working. GM has a real problem with the 6.2 engine failures.

2020 GMC SIERRA 1500- Jamestown, CA
The rear back glass is leaking water excessively in to the inside of the vehicle when it rains or gets washed. The vehicle is available at any time for inspection. The amount of condensation that accumulates on all the interior windows makes it impossible to see out of the vehicle. The defrost can not handle the amount of moisture build up. The Dealer knows about this condition and it has been verified by a window company. The manufacture knows and understands there is a problem and has put out a Technical Service Bulletin ( TSB 18-NA-383 ) for this issue but will not cover the repairs. GM knows that every single vehicle with this window designs from 2019-20121 will leak just outside the 3 year 36k mile warranty coverage. The cost of repair is approximately $2k. Dealer will not cover repair.

2020 GMC TERRAIN- Swartz Creek , MI
While my wife was driving on [XXX] speed (60 –70 mph), the engine suddenly seized without warning. This created a dangerous situation, especially at that speed. Upon inspection, it was confirmed that a camshaft end cap detached, causing catastrophic internal engine damage. I believe this may be due to a manufacturing defect or insufficient part durability, and poses a serious safety risk to myself and other drivers. Please investigate this issue for broader safety concerns and potential recalls, especially if other owners report similar failures. 2021 GMC SIERRA 1500- Bedford, NH
I heard a ticking in the engine and noticed multiple warning lights in the dashboard. I called the GMC dealer and was told the next opening was several weeks away. I was also told that it would be OK to drive the vehicle which I did (~10 miles) and parked the truck in my driveway until I could get the truck in for a diagnostic evaluation. The service department at the GMC dealer where the vehicle was purchased identified a defective camshaft/lifter as the source of the noise and lights. The service manager recommended either an engine rebuild at their shop or purchase a replacement motor from the GMC inventory network. The serial # of the old motor is: 126852545. The serial # of the new motor is: 40208378. The cost of the new motor, replacement of required fluids and parts and labor was $12,360. 100% of the repair was paid by myself. The .pdf of the service record (RO #: 9189240) exceeds the 10 MB limit and cannot be uploaded. I have a hard copy if needed. The dealership where the vehicle was purchased and serviced is: TULLEY Buick - GMC - BMW - Mazda P.O. Box T 147 Daniel Webster Highway South Nashua, New Hampshire 03060 (603) 888-0550 www.tulley.com
