2023 GMC YUKON- Okeechobee, FL
I own a 2023 GMC Yukon Denali with the 6.2L V8 engine. A safety recall was recently issued for this vehicle due to a potential engine defect that could result in sudden and severe failure. However, GM has not provided a remedy, and dealerships are unable to offer any repair or trade-in options while the recall remains open and unresolved. I live in a rural area with limited cell service and long distances between towns. This makes the potential for sudden engine failure even more dangerous. Out of serious concern for my family’s safety, I no longer feel comfortable allowing my wife or our [XXX] child to ride in or use the vehicle. The risk of being stranded—or worse, getting into an accident due to engine failure—is too great given our location and the nature of this defect. I attempted to trade in the vehicle at a GMC dealership to get into a safer and unaffected vehicle, but the dealer refused to accept it because of the recall. This leaves me stuck with a vehicle that has a known safety issue and no solution in sight, limiting both my transportation options and peace of mind. There were no warning lights or prior symptoms before the recall. The issue was disclosed by the manufacturer. A dealer has confirmed the recall is active, but no fix exists. This situation is unacceptable and has real-world safety and financial consequences for families like mine. I urge the NHTSA to hold GM accountable and ensure a remedy is made available immediately to protect consumers who are left in limbo by this unresolved and serious safety defect. Vehicle has 32,000 miles and the valve body has gone out and now parts for possibly months. My vehicle has been in the shop over these first 2 years over 2 months. Now this issue with the valve body it has been in over two weeks and they claim it will be months before they can get parts. This issue puts the vehicle in limp mode and most likely is damaging the clutrch packs as they go out. People all over the forums are having issues with these 10 speed transmissions. Something needs to be done to help out those affected.

My truck has the shift to park issue and won’t allow me to shut the vehicle ignition off and I cannot shut the vehicle ignition off and it is unsafe and keeps me trapped in my vehicle. I have noticed that it is a common issue and recall on many gmc trucks and I took it to the dealership and they are not wanting to cover it with my two warranties I have on the truck and my vehicle is unsafe. I cannot park the vehicle and shut it off. When I go to put the truck in park on shift column lever, it says shift to park on dash and I turn it on and move shifter to drive and neutral and the vehicle still won’t allow me to shut it off and it shows the same issue.. the issue just began out of no where.

I am experiencing ongoing issues with the infotainment system in my vehicle, which has remained unresolved despite multiple service visits. The system frequently blacks out, reboots while driving, and fails to function entirely at times, for days at a time. This is more than an inconvenience — it presents several serious safety concerns, including: •Loss of the rearview camera and parking assist features, making reversing hazardous. •Inability to access hands-free calling and navigation, increasing the risk of driver distraction and noncompliance with hands-free driving laws. •Disruption of access to climate controls and safety alerts that are routed through the infotainment system. •Frequent system crashes while driving, which divert my attention from the road. These issues compromise both the safety and usability of the vehicle, and I am requesting immediate action to resolve the problem under warranty.

Subject: Urgent Safety Concern – Widespread Failure and Nationwide Backorder of OnStar Module (GM Part No. 86803964) Dear NHTSA, I am writing to formally raise a serious concern regarding a widespread and well-documented failure of the OnStar module (GM Part No. 86803964) in 2023 GMC Sierra vehicles and potentially other GM models. I own a 2023 GMC Sierra equipped with this module, which has failed, rendering my vehicle’s entire instrument cluster completely inoperative. All screens, including the digital gauges and essential driver information displays, are blacked out, leaving the vehicle in an unsafe and non-drivable condition. After contacting numerous GM dealerships across the country, I have discovered that this part is on national backorder, with over 4,000 units reportedly pending. I have also learned that the part number has been superseded multiple times, suggesting an ongoing and unresolved issue. To make matters worse, Specmo is reported to be the sole refurbisher and distributor of replacement modules, further limiting availability and delaying resolution. This issue directly affects vehicle operability and driver safety. The inability to access critical information such as speed, fuel level, warning indicators, and system diagnostics significantly increases the risk of accidents and vehicle malfunctions. Given the scale of this issue and its impact on public safety, I urge General Motors, relevant regulatory bodies, and consumer safety agencies to investigate this matter thoroughly. A recall, expedited solution, or broader communication to affected customers appears necessary at this stage.

2025 GMC SIERRA 3500- Loveland, CO
I am reporting a potentially serious and widespread safety defect involving Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunner AT tires installed as factory equipment on General Motors trucks. My 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD Denali has just 5,800 miles. Both rear tires, with DOT code 2724, have developed identical sidewall bulges behind the “NER” in the “TrailRunner” stamp. These bulges are consistent with internal structural failure, not road hazard damage. The truck has never struck a pothole or curb, and there is no evidence of impact or external damage. I have personally inspected several brand-new GM trucks on dealer lots, equipped with the same Goodyear tires, showing the exact same sidewall bulge in the same location. These trucks also have newer DOT Manufacture date stamps. Most importantly, these vehicles have never been driven, which strongly suggests a tire manufacturing defect, not a driver-related issue. At my first scheduled service, the dealer’s service department refused to rotate the tires, citing the bulges as a safety risk. I filed a formal complaint with GM and requested that they involve Goodyear. GM denied the request, claimed the damage was from road impact (without evidence), and stated that the decision was final and not disputable. They refused to conduct any further investigation or escalate the claim. I believe GM’s refusal to act on a potential structural defect, especially one seen across multiple new vehicles, demonstrates a failure to exercise due diligence and exposes the public to unnecessary danger. A blowout from these bulges could lead to serious injury or fatal crashes. I am urging NHTSA to open a defect investigation into Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunner AT tires, particularly those with DOT code 2724 and newer, as installed on GM trucks. I am prepared to submit photographs and dealership documentation as necessary.

Windshield issues. Small debris creates significant chips and cracks on windshield. In 30 years of owning vehicles I have never had a chip. Had this vehicle one year and 3 significant cracks and three chips. Anything that hits the windshield does damage. Very dangerous issue that needs addressed. A windshield is a safety issue and one that cracks so easily is completely unsafe!

The chrome front grill deflector is loose and feels like it is going to fly off at any moment. There have not been any accident or collision with the vehicle for this to be my fault. I know all the 2022 GMC Sierras got recalled for this issue but dealership said my vehicle isn’t covered even though is the same issue
