Complete engine failure while driving at highway speeds which put me and my family in dangerous risk of injury or death. The dealer confirmed the engine failure and needs engine replacement. The engine failed with no warning which only had 8700 miles.

Number 5 cylinder failure. Engined has failed cylinder is scored causing the engine to miss and lock up. The engine which is a 6.2 l87 is now under investigation for a piston failure causing the engine to lockup. The piston and engine issue has been investigated by my local repair shop and I can provide written and bore scope pictures of the failure. Yes the engine light was on the ESC was disabled and needed replaced and the traction control was disabled also the emergency brake was enabled and then failed

ESC ERROR PARKING BREAK NOT RELEASING Dashboard lights started flashing Check engine light came on

The vehicle was handed off to the dealer for a routine oil change and transmission flush. The dealer stated over the phone that during the engine's oil draining process, the tech noticed metal particulates in the oil. The oil was allowed to completely drain until no drips fell from the drain plug. The tech then filled the engine with new oil to the correct level. After the trans flush was complete, the tech took the vehicle for a test drive, during which they noticed strange engine noises. The tech then parked the vehicle in the garage bay, where the engine subsequently failed. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request?: The dealer has not confirmed the exact cause of the failure, however it is expected to be because of a failed connecting rod bearing. The NHTSA may contact the dealership for information regarding an inspection. The dealer is Koons Chevrolet Buick GMC in Clarksville, MD 21029. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk?: UNKNOWN, vehicle was parked at the time of failure Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? : UNKNOWN, There are many forums online in which people have stated similar issues. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others?: UNKNOWN Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear?: UNKNOWN

The Onstar module becomes inoperable due to a fault with the onstar module. This is a known issue on many forums and GM has yet to issue a fix with mass reported Onstar module failures. This fault renders useless the safety systems.

While driving with my cruise control set to 75, my vehicle began losing speed and power for no apparent reason. I was able to fortunately pull over on the shoulder of the road when the engine turned off without pushing the stop button. At this point I put the vehicle in park and tried to restart the vehicle with no luck. It was at this time I contacted my husband and he was able to come load the vehicle on a trailer to tow to our GMC Dealership. This happened on January 28, 2025. There was 60,407 miles on the odometer. The dealership was able to tell us that the motor seized due to a bearing failure. I am glad that I was able to get over to the shoulder of the road and was not in the middle of road construction. This was a scary situation that could have been much worse.

Transmission locking up Was never notified about recall and my truck was never put on recall list they have gas lighted me and others with 23 models having same known issues Yes it is stuck at the dealer waiting on back ordered part but they arent aloud to inspect the gears in the transmission due to only replacing the control module Prior to this i had other failures between fuel control module to def fluid tank to shortened wire harness all of this issues make the vehicle go crazy between acceleration/ hard and no shifting which is a danger to drive and then there will be more wear and tear on other components that arent being addressed

I am filing a complaint regarding a serious safety issue with my 2017 GMC Yukon XL related to the brake vacuum pump. According to recall information (NHTSA Recall ID: N192268490), certain 2015-2017 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles are equipped with a defective vacuum pump that may decrease in output over time. This defect reduces power brake assist, resulting in increased braking effort, a hard brake pedal, and extended stopping distances. These conditions significantly increase the risk of a crash. I have experienced symptoms consistent with this issue, including vibrating brake pedal with no slippage, a hard pedal, ticking noises from the engine, a 'Service Brake Assist' warning message, and difficulty braking. This issues usually occur under 10 mph. These problems compromise the vehicle’s braking performance and pose a direct threat to the safety of myself, my passengers, and other road users.

Driving 75mph towing a 24' trailer and the motor just shut down and almost caused a massive pile up on [XXX] . INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Car suddenly stopped while traveling. Shut down. Took to dealership and they said it’s a catastrophic engine failure.
