GMC Complaints

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Terrain. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled, and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated the failure occurred while driving on a busy highway. The contact called the Emergency Services, who arrived on the scene and assisted with moving the vehicle to the shoulder of the road. The contact stated that the situation was very frightening. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with fuel pump module failure. The contact was informed that the fuel pump module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,886.

Driving on highway at approximately 70 mph and the engine completely cut off without warning. Error message on dash said put car in neutral and press the start button. After safely pulling over, the vehicle was never able to start or even crank. Towed back to the dealership. Catastrophic engine failure according to the dealership. Vehicle has the 6.2 V8 engine with known issues by GMC apparently. Only 32k miles and under warranty but dealership reports that replacement engines are on back order and they have not been able to source one.

Vehicle started making noise and idling rough 1-2days after receiving it back from oil change. It was absolutely fine and out of nowhere this happens. I’m great with cars and this is my 5th GMC Yukon and I bought this one at 0 mileage so I am very familiar with this car. There is absolutely no explainable reason my car is doing this I had it inspected and the dealer told me this has been happening lately to a lot of the gmc Yukons and I would need major engine repair for a brand new car!!! Over 20k in repairs and parts. I have 6 children and we have had to abandon the vehicle on Christmas Day to drive our old 2019 GMC Yukon which I think is starting to sound a lot like the 2023 under the hood! It’s roughly idling to. I’m afraid we might be taking the bus if I don’t pay 20k. I looked to see if there were recalls but found none. there is no way engine failure should just pop up after we spent tons of money keeping these cars in perfect shape and only being serviced at the dealership. This should be investigated and repair records pulled to find people who are not aware

The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while accelerating from a complete stop, the vehicle hesitated and the transmission experienced a hard shift to first gear. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was shuddering while driving at slower speeds. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a related recall. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

When placed in park a message appears to Shift To Park and the vehicle electrical system stays energized.

Engine, check engine. Light comes on and traction turns off and stability Tr A. K turns off while I'm driving, which is very dangerous now. The engine also has a very loud clicking. Ticking sound I'm not sure where it's coming from. But when I drive begins to get louder, and my traction turns off while on The highway or any road going over it?Twenty miles an hour, which is extremely dangerous on texas roads.

Driving back from Spring Break Vacation in Destin, FL, with my wife, daughter [XXX] and son [XXX] on [XXX] and the vehicle engine started making a clicking sound slightly past Greenville, AL. When given gas, the vehicle RPMs would increase, but the vehicle would fail to accelerate. Pulled off onto the shoulder and the vehicle completely died I wouldn't start again. Had to call Emergency Roadside Assistance for help, and they had to Tow the vehicle to the Chevorlet/GMC Dealership in Montgomery, AL. This issues is regarding the front of the canopy. The base of the canopy clip, where it attaches to the car seat nearest the handle, has broken off pieces. These pieces have flow into the car seat where my child sits. It I had not noticed this happening, my child could have tried to put that piece in their mouth and choked or because for the sharp edges on the splintered piece, cause more serious damage. This breakage is on both end of the canopy clip. In addition, the piece that the clip is supposed to attach to has become warped from repeated use.

vehicle shifted strange than reduced power which forced me the pull off the road in a unsafe manner

As I was driving down the feeder road of a major highway, the light (press brake to start engine) came on. I was traveling around 55 miles per hour. I pressed the brake and pressed the start button but nothing happened. At this point I was coasting as the engine had died. The radio and electrical system were fully operational. I tried restarting the engine several times while coasting along the busy feeder road. I finally pulled into the right side lane (there was no shoulder) and applied the brakes. Once fully stopped, I was not able to start the engine. I called my GMC dealer for the name of a tow truck. The tow was able to pick up my truck about 45 minutes later. I am still waiting on a new engine from GMC with no time update from my dealer. This incident happened on 03/03/2025.
