Driving on highway with my [XXX] daughter in the car, screen all of a sudden flashed “press start” on the dashboard and the car died in highway at the off ramp exit. Had to call state police because we were blocking ramp and almost got hit multiple times. Could not get car to restart, state police towed off highway for $200 and AAA towed to dealer. Took over a week for dealer to claim GM owned up to engine failure. No rental car provided. Sold for a $37,000 loss a year and a half after purchase with only 27,000 mile on the vehicle. Brake pedal gets hard and will not allow vehicle to stop. Intermittent issue, but caused vehicle to hit gate. Same situation occurred later that same week and vehicle almost rolled through major highway crossing.

Was driving normal down interstate. Interstate has two barrie walls making it a two lane road with no shoulders. Car was almost rear ended 3 times while it was stopped in middle of interstate. Me, my husband, my [XXX] , [XXX] and [XXX] were all in the car. I had to jump out the car while it was still rolling to make sure my children made it to safety before someone didn’t see us and hit us at 70mph. We had to cross the road and jump over a barrier in the construction zone. It took our high way patrol 35 mins just to show up and shut the road down to get the vehicle moved. According to the GM mechanic, a rod went through the block causing a hole. There was no warning of this happening, the car made noise and the vehicle automatically said low oil pressure, shut vehicle off, then an instant pop and smoked everywhere. The motor is on back order and won’t be able to be replaced for over 6 months if that. We had just purchased the vehicle and the motor was blown not even 3 hours after owning it. On multiple occasions, more recently 03/28/2025, the windshield wipers would stop working. On 3/28/25 in pouring rain at night the front windshield wipers were working and then stopped. The rear window continued to work. I finally found somewhere to safely pull over and check fuses for front and back wipers. They were both good and I even swapped the fuses for front and back and the back wipers continued to work while the front would not. This continued on our our trip in rain and even the next morning the front wipers would not come on. An hour later driving (with the wiper switch in the OFF position) the front wipers came on. I switched the switch to on and they were functioning. This has happed several time in the 6 months of new ownership with the dealership denying they have ever heard of such a problem. As we arrived to our destination and telling the story to the other families we were meeting another family there said they just had the same exact problem on their 2024 Yukon denali on the trip too. This put 2 families in a very dangerous situation. As I google this problem there are multiple reviews of individuals with this same problem.

Months after a bought the car brand new my engine failed, GMC took months to replace the engine leaving me without a car for months, while paid out of pocket for a rental. Further I’ve had numerous transmission issues that and other issues leaving the car in the dealership shop for months.

I purchased the vehicle brand new in October of 2023, since then the vehicle has been to service over 15 times for engine failure, vibration while driving on the highway etc. At times when the vehicle shut down it was without warning.

While driving my truck shut off and went into neutral. Truck restarted after cranking for a long time. Did the same thing within a mile and then started making knocking noises, turned off and would not restart. Completely dead on the road. Truck was towed to nearest dealership.

Transmission hesitates. Transmission jerks when shifting. Possible torque conversion issues. Mileage is 35,623.

New Denali less then 1 year old had lifter problems and needed lifters replaced and a camshaft. Started knocking while driving on the highway and tough to travel 4 lanes to get off the road. This is a serious issue.Very concerned because of widespread problems. I hope NHTSA does the same thing they did with Kia regarding the 2.o turbo engines. My last car was a Sorento 2.o turbo with defective engine. Kia agreed to a lifetime warranty for that failure. Luckily they did because mine failed and they replaced the engine. Once replaced I bought the Yukon. Bame similar issue. I hope a settlement included lifetime warranty. While driving in the left lane of the interstate at 70 mph, the engine abruptly shut off, shifting the car into neutral. The dashboard read start engine, which did not compute immediately. I quickly navigated to the right lane to assess the situation and eventually to the shoulder of the highway where I parked the vehicle. I was unable to to restart and had the vehicle towed to the dealership. It took ~6 hours for the Onstar tow service to arrive.
