When going to shut off vehicle, when you push the push start button the engine will turn off but the radio and all the instrument panel, gauge lights, and dinging noise are still on. It states on the screen to shift to park. The vehicle is in park and even sometimes has the parking brake on. It can stay on from 1 minute to numerous minutes, which is only running my battery and other things down on my truck. This has happened daily.

I was driving with my [XXX] son and my car just stalled out in the middle of the road. I couldn’t start it and we were stuck in the middle of the road. My husband arranged for a tow and the repair shop (safe auto repair Mont Belvieu) told me that this type of thing they have seen a lot of. The fuel pump power control module needed to be repaired and they said when that happens it sometimes shorts out the fuel pump system too. They said they had to repair 4 like this already during the week. My neighbor said the exact same thing happened to her friend gmc at4 a month ago and was also driving and the car just stopped. I own a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Duramax diesel. At around 60,000 miles, I received an engine coolant system alert through OnStar and retrieved a P1098 trouble code, which indicates a failure in the coolant control valve. This issue causes the engine fan to run excessively, creating loud noise, reduced fuel economy, and possible drivability concerns. After researching owner forums and talking to multiple service departments, I discovered this is a widespread problem among 2020–2022 GMC/Chevrolet Duramax 3.0L diesel owners. In many cases, the coolant control valve is failing prematurely, and the replacement part is on national backorder, suggesting a high failure rate. GM has not issued a recall or service bulletin to address the issue, and many customers are being told to pay out of pocket despite the systemic nature of the failure. This component is tied to engine temperature control, and failure could pose a safety risk if the engine overheats or derates unexpectedly. I am filing this complaint to document the issue and request NHTSA investigate this as a potential defect.

While I was driving the engine started to lose power on the highway going about 70 mph with my four kids in the car. I had to quickly exit the highway and pull over. I was uncomfortable continuing operating the vehicle and had to get it to the closest GMC dealership which was in Killeen Texas. (Patriot Buick GMC). Upon diagnosis, I was informed that the lifters were damaged and needed to be repaired. Once the technician started the disassembly he noticed that the lifters caused damage to the cam shaft resulting in additional repairs which totaled approximately $8700 in damages/repairs required. I started to research this as the lifters typically do not fail in vehicles that are 80,000 miles or less. While conducting research I noticed that this is a common problem in the GMC Sierra 1500 to the point there is a lawsuit against GMC right now. I am frustrated because I believe that there should be a recall as the safety of my kids and I were put in danger for a part that is commonly failing in this vehicle.

My onstar is not working this is a hazard for me since the truck cannot be tracked if stolen or even worse if a accident does happen there is no way for onstar to help . My subscription is up to date and paid and now the dealer is telling me the truck has a issue with the onstar module

My vehicle stalled while driving on the highway. It has been reported by the dealership that the engine seized, with under 18,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving 55 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle failed to respond, with the vehicle sputtering. The contact stated that unknown warning lights were illuminated, and an unknown message was displayed. The contact pulled over to the side of the road as the transmission shifted into neutral. The vehicle was shifted into park and turned off. The contact then attempted to start the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to restart. The contact then towed the vehicle to the dealer, and a diagnostic test was pending. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

On [XXX] while driving my Yukon Denali XL it complexly shut off in the middle of [XXX] . I had my children with me and had to wait for almost an hour as police directed traffic around my vehicle until it could be towed. It just lost all abilities to accelerate, brake and steer. GM diagnosed that the engine seized and had to be replaced. this again happened on [XXX]. Gm has reported that the engine seized and has to be replaced again! The contact owns a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine compartment, after which the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that prior to the engine failure, the transmission was replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

On 3/21/2025 while in the middle lane of highway 290 my 2022 Yukon Denali xl started immediately decreasing in speed. The car went into neutral and I had no control of the acceleration or braking. Then the engine shut off. I wasn’t not able to get my car off of the freeway and had to wait over 1.5 hours to have it towed by GM. This is the second engine that has seized in the car. The car is still under warranty and had an extended warranty through gm as the engine seized and had to be replaced once already. Extremely dangerous
