2023 GMC SIERRA 1500- Covington, KY
I was driving my 2023 GMC Sierra pickup (26,634 miles) while towing a trailer. I also had three of my children with me. I was in the fast lane doing approximately 65 miles per hour when the vehicle suddenly started to lose power. The Low Oil Pressure light came on the engine started to make a banging sound. Then the vehicle said to turn it off. We immediately started working our way across three lanes of very busy traffic to get to the side of the road. We were almost hit by several semi-trucks and barely made it to the side of the road as the engine turned off. We could not get the truck to start again. It also would not go into neutral. We were in a very dangerous position due to semi-trucks going by us at a very high rate of speed. I had to call a friend to come get my children because I was fearful, we were going to be hit. An officer luckily came by and assisted us. The engine was replaced with a remanufactured engine by the dealer. The technician who worked on the truck said that the bearings failed causing the engine to fail.

It is a known issue the OnStar modules fail and are on back order. They make you pay for 3 years of service on supply you a part that fails. This makes the phone app not work unbeknown to me when I had my kids and dog in the vehicle creating a safety is. This makes remote start and lock unoperable. This makes the GPS as well as the clock unoperable. This makes the sos call in emergency not operable.

2021 GMC YUKON- Valpraiso, NE
Had to replace an engine due to a main bearing failure, not the connecting rod failure thats being investigated. We pulled into the driveway with zero issue and zero suspect of issue, changed the oil as routine 5k miles, went to start it, and it blew the 400A starter fuse. It friction welded the crank to the bearing when I ahit the engine off. It looked like it flaked the coating off the bearing, then due to the recommended 0-20 thin oil, it didn't have the proper protection for metal on metal. Hoping that the main bearings get added to this investigation, because they are the same coating. Same manufacturer.

2024 GMC SIERRA 1500- Murfreesboro, TN
Truck with >15000 miles on it suddenly stops on highway (Dec 6, 2024). Engine won't start but all electrical components work, retractable steps, radio, bluetooth etc. When attempted to start, all electric went black and "push to start button again" came on display. Towed to dealer and after 3 days, advisor says it's not the battery but it might be something electrical. After six days I trade this truck in as they "don't" know what is wrong. After I trade they tell me that the truck needs a new engine but don't why. While taking my new 2025 truck in for a computer problem (500 miles) they tell me they found metal shavings in the oil. I find out two weeks later that there might be a problem with 877,710 6.2L engine with the same problem as mine. Sales says he doesn't know what problem is but he says he may be stuck with the truck for 30 days or more so I should trade.

2024 GMC YUKON XL- Florissant, MO
Two weeks ago, while driving on the highway, our Yukon suddenly quit accelerating and flipped into neutral. We had to quickly pull over to the left shoulder with our entire family. We put the vehicle into park and tried to restart, which it wouldn’t do. We ended up having to call OnStar and having it towed to the nearest dealer. They “repaired it,” yet a week later, the same thing happened while pulling up to a stop light. This time we were 4 hours from home and on a weekend. While waiting for a tow truck, the police towed it to an impound lot. Lots of money, time and red tape to get it out of the impound lot to the nearest dealer to have it looked at. It’s been there almost a week and all I’ve heard is that it’s most likely the motor but they still haven’t confirmed.

2022 GMC YUKON- Orland Park, IL
I was driving on an expressway in Chicago heading to work at 5am on [XXX] morning. While driving my engine shutdown and I lost engine power to my vehicle while doing 70mph. There was no warning, no warning lamps and no noise to indicate there was any issues. The vehicle just died while I was driving. I had to coast to the shoulder with traffic all around me. Luckily I was able to avoid other vehicles and they were able to avoid me when they realized I was having trouble. Though there was a very close call where I almost got into an accident. When I pulled onto the shoulder the vehicle completely shutdown. It would not restart. I had to call a tow company to have my vehicle towed to the Dealership. Luckily, I was able to find one nearby that was open at that time on Christmas Eve. The dealership mechanics went over my vehicle and determined that I had complete engine failure. The bearings on the bottom end of the engine spun out. I now need a complete engine replacement along with whatever other components were also damage. This incident was a major safety issue. I was luckily that I did not end up in a major accident due to the loss of complete engine power. This is a major issue that needs to be looked into and GM needs to be held responsible for not only my vehicle but all others that this is happening to. 2022 GMC YUKON- Detroit, MI
My transmission began having problems the day it was delivered to me. After the oil change which they delivered to me at low percentage was completed the motor was ticking. It has had a burning smell and has been in and out of the shop and going back soon. I was on the expressway and the speed declined with error messages on the dash almost resulting in an accident. No one is listening to my concerns and now the motor has a metal clinking noise
