2022 GMC SIERRA 1500- rowley, MA
Multifunction tail gate opens while driving, opens when going over speed bumps, opens going over small bumps and opens while driving down the highway. I brought the vehicle to the GMC dealer, they replaced an electrical switch on the tail gate. This did not fix the problem, I called the dealer and they told me GMC does not have a repair for this new issue. This is a brand new truck that is under factory warrant, the truck has 10000 miles on it. If I ever have a load in the bed it may fall out onto the road or highway.

water intrusion resulted in the tailgate inadvertently unlatching while the vehicle is in park multiple times while being washed. This apparently happened throughout the night, assuming voltage was being used to send open signal, which resulted in drained battery. In my case my vin is not on the recall that is out on GMC for tailgate issue. And dealership determined there is a pinch in tailgate speaker harness that is causing the issue. Which I’m sure that harness is tied into tailgate latch harness. What needs to be addressed in this recall is for the two drain holes on top of tailgate to be somehow sealed. Drain holes are directly above tailgate latch and harnesses which is the main concern in this problem.

2019 GMC SIERRA 1500- Lyndonville, NY
Loss of steering multiple times. Very dangerous to try and drive. GMC says shut off vehicle for 20 minutes and try again. Once it worked otherwise it continued to lose power steering, either driving or turning on. I have went into GMC forums and found out there are thousands more people that this has happened to. Thank you for what you people do.

2022 GMC SIERRA 1500- Raceland, LA
I am reaching out to you to make a report of a safety issue involving the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali model trucks (Vin [XXX] ). I recently read that there was a recall involving the 2020-2023 model 2500 GMC Sierra’s and their Multi-Latch tailgate. I have checked with GMC and my local dealer to see when or if my model would be included in this recall and they have no answer/response for me. The reason for my concern is that I had an issue last year with my tailgate dropping while in motion while pulling my camper. The result was that my tailgate was destroyed and damages were made to my camper as well with both needing to be repaired. The only reason that the bikes, propane tanks, etc that was in the back of my truck didn’t fall out and into moving traffic was because my camper was hooked up thankfully. Its very concerning to know that this same thing can happen again in the future at any given moment with the lack of a recall on my specific model truck. If the things I were hauling would have flown out the back at 60-70 mph it could have ended a lot worse for someone who was following behind me on the road. Additionally, the damages had to go on my driving record as an “at fault” accident which in turn caused a rise in my personal insurance rates. My insurance company assured me that the only way this can be removed was if an active recall were to be addressed with my model truck for the tailgate issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2023 GMC SIERRA 1500- CLARKSVILLE , TN
Pulled up to a stop sign and attempt to make a right turn as I was in the turn the steering wheel locked up in the turn which almost caused and accident . I had to get the vehicle towed to Wyatt Johnson GMC dealership in Clarksville TN. I purchased this truck in Jan 2024 from Romain Cross Pointe Auto Park in Evansville ,Indiana at 7600 E Division St, Evansville, IN 47715 it had 13k miles. I'm the second owner I only put 2k miles since ownership. I was able to obtain a vehicle history report which shows this has been an on going problem among other issues DTC code U0131 Lost communication with Power steering Module shows at least 9 times that Romain GMC try to fix the problem. This is extremely dangerous to drive and the steering goes out this has been a known problem.. See attachments
