Vehicle lost power and died during normal driving. Luckily it occurred on a low traffic road and not the interstate. Prior to this there were no check engine lights or other signs of failure or degradation in performance. Was unable to start the vehicle and had to have it towed to my local dealership for service. Failure was due to the Fuel System Control Module GM part 13543075. This part is currently back ordered nation wide and the dealership cannot give an ETA on part availability or repairs.

The vehicle part involved is the right rear suspension adjust toe link. I did not ask the GM dealer to save the old part. The old part is not available for inspection. The replacement GM part number placed on the vehicle is 84606181. On December 4, 2023 during the annual State inspection of my vehicle the GM dealer advised me that the right rear suspension part listed above showed wear in the bushing and the vehicle fails the state inspection because this is a safety issue. In order to pass the state required safety inspection I would need to have the suspension part replaced. This part controls how the vehicle tracks down the road when driven to prevent vehicle swaying from side to side. Since the GM dealer inspected and confirmed the above I authorized the dealer to replace the worn out part and also perform a wheel alignment as recomended by the GM dealer. Prior to the info provided above their were no warnings, noises, or signs that the right rear toe link bushing was warn to the extent that it required replacement. This first notice I had on the potential problem with my vehicles suspension is described above. I was advised that the above part is a common part that requires replacement on my type of vehicle.

The air bags safety recall has been out since May and not even an ounce of new information has come out with any updates on when we will be seeing new airbags, it’s very unsafe for drivers to be driving these vehicles and possibly have a fender bender and die because the airbag was faulty. We want an update it should be illegal for any of us to have to wait this long without even an update on a timeline of when the bags will be available because most of everyone who is going to get a new vehicle/trade in is being screwed because of the recall. GMC has had multiple recalls within the last couple of years and I wish I would have known that before but that’s in the past. PLEASE protect us and get them in gear or atleast hire them a marketing team t help with updates.

There is an has been an issue with my electrical system says I purchased this car in 2017. Myself believe that the issues have not been documented until 2020. When my racy begins to run out, my engine light has been coming on and I’ve been getting the same code P1101 I took my vehicle to GMC and they told me that the engine light came on because the tape came loose. I brought this vehicle and there’s no way there should be no tape on it. The service tech also told me that if the problem continue to bring it back and I will have to pay $120 or whatever the label rate was for them to research I contacted GMC to file a complaint and I received the whole bunch of calls from a guy named Kevin. I believe he told me that he had been contacting [XXX] and no one returned his call and that he was sorry he couldn’t help me. This is my report number one of them from GMC. [XXX]. Everywhere I take my car they tell me that they have a lot of customers with the same issue and they tried to replace what the code is matching which is the mass airflow sensor but that does not help there is some type of problem with the engine or the electrical system with this vehicle. I am not the only consumer that has had this problem. I don’t know what to do. I have two kids I cannot afford to keep pay and label rate for them not to find the problem. I am also attaching the typical email that GMC sent out when they are working with the dealerships because I have been in contact with them and the person that was calling and then they sent me this email. Tailgate opens by itself, a know issue by GM and Sierra drivers. Mine was damaged by opening and banging against my travel trailer. I have been talking with GM about this since September. Today a different department told me they require up to 30 days to investigate and if I pay for the repairs myself they will cancel the investigation. Objects flying out of my pickup bed could damage my vehicle, my camper and others on the road.
