2016 GMC ACADIA- Ashfield, MA
Manufacturer Recall NumberN232404980 NHTSA Recall Number23V334 Recall StatusRecall Incomplete, remedy not yet available Summary General Motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2014-2017 model year Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia vehicles. In these vehicles, the front-driver airbag inflator may contain a supplier manufacturing defect that may result in inflator rupture during deployment. Safety Risk An in?ator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag and into the vehicle interior, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants. General Motors has failed to repair this in a timely manner. My vehicle is unsafe to drive, is a risk to myself and my children. I cannot afford to pay my loan for the car that I’m not supposed to drive and buy another safe vehicle. Gmc has let this go for months. It is now November they refuse to offer a loaner or any kind of discount on a new vehicle, my vehicle has lost trade in value and is basically a pile of junk in my driveway. I want this issue remedied immediately. I have contacted numerous employees and service places and nobody can repair the air bag. I want my vehicle replaced!

In June 2023, I was notified of recall N232404980. The reason for recall is, a driver’s-side front airbag inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death. It has been 5 months and the manufacturer has no current plan in place to replace the driver’s airbag module. After speaking with a GMC Customer Assistance Center representative today, 11/17/2023, I was told that there is no estimated time when the repair will be available. Based on the possibility of death, five months and no plan for when a repair/replacement will be available feels negligent and as though the repairs are not being completed in a reasonable time.

2014 GMC SIERRA 2500- Guntersville, AL
2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD. My dash has started to crack around the passenger airbag and driverside gauge cluster. Dash material is brittle and serves as a hazard should the airbags deploy during an accident.

2018 GMC ACADIA- Bartlett, TN
Shift to park issue is getting worse. I couldn’t turn my car off for hours today. The recall is still pending for this and GMC is doing nothing after thousands of class action lawsuits and complaints. Keeping my car running for hours on end while in park because it won’t turn off is causing electrical issues and using tons of gas. I have to get with an attorney at this point because I can’t use my car lots of the times because I can’t leave it running and unlocked all day while I’m at work or at the store. It’s a MASSIVE safety issue. GMC needs to take accountability and fix these vehicles. This has been ongoing for 2 years now.

2022 GMC SIERRA 1500- LAYTON, UT
While driving the vehicle, the volume on the audio panel shot up to 100%. It caught me off guard and nearly caused me to steer into oncoming traffic. All volume knobs and switches were unresponsive including the power button to the whole unit. I had to pull over and shut off the truck and let it sit for over 10 minutes in order to get it to stop. There are now numerous audio issues, including but not limited to the audio speakers making a crackling noise so bad it renders the use of any audio completely, also periodically the audio loses all volume and will remain completely silent regardless in AM/FM, Satellite Radio, bluetooth or phone call. All these seem to happen anytime the truck gets wet from either car wash or the weather.

It takes quite the amount of force to stop the vehicle brake pedal started feeling spongy and seems like it doesn’t have enough pressure constantly I have no brake fluid leaks or air in my lines it all comes down to the brake booster it seems like and I know a few vehicles had this problem but mine says it wasn’t but I believe it has been affected.
