since this recall, in the last month my car now is telling me air bags need to be serviced. I am scared to drive in fear i get hit and the shards will erupt. This is a ticking time bomb. I get told by GMC parts are not available, then i get told they don't know what the fix is; Which one is it. i have asked them to give me a substantial Owners Loyalty compensation so i can get a new vehicle and they keep dragging their feet. I am not the only person in this but this is [XXX] right scary. Give us 7500K as compensation towards a new GM or Chevy vehicle. i need answers. i have spoken to them 9 times and have documented each call. this is over the last 5 -6 weeks. Vehicle has a hard shift in the lower gears. I have been told by GM authorized dealers and garages that the official suggestion from GM is a transmission flush, and that this may not resolve the issue. This service usually runs around $350+, and is not reimbursed at all or in part by the manufacturer. This has caused tire spin in parking lots and low speed situations (like crosswalks), and only seems to be getting worse as time goes on. This seems to be a widespread issue, with a large number of consumers reporting the same issue, and really seems to be a manufacturer defect

    - Napa, CA

I own a 2018 GMC Denali, Yukon XL SUV, with 67k miles. While towing our 24’ Airstream (weight 4400 lbs) the vehicle excessively bounced in the air several times on a flat pull on I-80 in Northern Ca. I took it to three mechanics who told me that the front magnetic and rear air shocks had all failed and were leaking oil. The best price that we could secure for replacement is $2500. Each mechanic commented about the frequency of this type of failure with GMC and stated that this should be a recall because of the risk of trailer detachment/failure. I’ve owned dozens of vehicles in my lifetime (age [XXX]) and have never replaced a set of shocks before. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On 9/24/23, I was driving both locally & the highway in S. I., NY. Suddenly the Adaptive Cruise Control feature shut off & on repeatedly & kept flashing (Adaptive Cruise Control unavailable) almost causing an accident, then I pulled over and shut off the system. The next day on (9/25/23) I brought the car to GMC & Buick Dealership at 1855 Hylan Blvd, S.I. N.Y. 10306. After a couple of hours, the manager Carlos Mercado tells me they need to do further testing tells me to come back on 10/04/23. I arrive at 9:00am for my appt. After three hours, I asked him what’s going on? He tells me that there are two Modular’s in the vehicle & needs to be reprogramed & updated. He says the mechanic that was working on it can’t do it & to come back. I knew at that point I was being scammed. On 10/11/23 at 10:15am he comes & tells me the vehicle is ready. I go to the register tells me at first was $671.00. I said for what? It’s outrageous! He says oh it’s electrical. I asked him did you replace any parts? He says no. replace any wires? He says no. I said if this was a recall I wouldn’t pay for it because its a safety issue. So he must have felt guilty and says I give you a discount & the price now is $555.56. So I says to him this is a lot of money for this. He tells me it was labor. I said to him I have been watching the whole time that the vehicle would sometimes be in the service area & the parking lot with the mechanic hardly working on it. I said to him do you think I’m a fool because I’m a woman unaccompanied by a man you take advantage of me. So they would not release the car unless I pay for it which I did with a credit card. On 10/12/23, I filed a complained with GM for a full refund, and explained that the program was faulty & only need an update and I was contacted by Charlie from the Executive team on 10/17/23. Tells me he will reach out to the dealer. On 10/23/23 he tells me they can only offer $250 in reward points which I declined, because they know I wont use it.

2 different times I have been driving once at a high speed of 70 on the highway and then driving 15-20 miles an hour today my automatic braking engaged and threw me forward which is a very scary feeling. I have not taken it in for service for that as it had only happened once a few months ago and there have been no warning lamps indicating an issue.

The high pressure fuel pump broke twice within a 6 month period. The first time, I was traveling at 70 mph in the middle of 100 degree weather in Texas. When I took it to the shop, the mechanic mentioned that the bolt broke inside of the engine and caused the high pressure fuel pump to break and dump gasoline everywhere. It was repaired by adding a new pump and fuel line. After driving it for 5 months, the same issue happened again while driving 30 mph. My safety was put at risk since it was large amounts of gasoline that it was throwing which could have easily caused a explosion/fire. The warning message was a check engine light and the truck going into limp mode. From my research, this exact issue was a recall for the 2018 version of the truck.

This has been a safety recall since May 2023, I have returned to the dealer each month since then and have been given the same answer that there is no remedy at the moment. So I asked to get a loaner vehicle until they can fix this and they said they cannot. So I asked them, "to be clear, there is nothing you can do with a known safety recall and if i or my wife get injured its on us?" They continued that there is nothing that can be done. This is not satisfactory to knowingly allow their vehicles to be driven unsafely for this length of time. I will definitely be suing if anything happens to me or my family.
