the engine started knocking and vehicle shaking while on interstate. vehicle was towed to service center and they determined that one valve was stuck and another one turned 90 degrees and the cam shaft was also ruined. It was required to replace the engine as that was a less costly option than replacing the damaged parts. A dash light came on and was flashing while my daughter was driving it to [XXX]. The vehicle was towed from the parking lot they were at when reaching [XXX]. Unsure of where the engine went to after the service center removed it, but I think they had to send it back to GM. After engine passed check for possible replacement because of recall, engine failed 5000 miles after. Even though I have a new engine now, there is no warranty coverage other than the lower part of the engine. I am already having misfire issues.

On August 22, 2026, while driving my 2022 GMC Sierra westbound on State Route 84 at highway speed, with strong westerly winds of approximately 35 knots, the front passenger-side wheel-opening molding/fender flare completely detached from the vehicle without warning. The detached molding struck the passenger-side exterior mirror and narrowly missed a motorcyclist traveling behind me. This created a serious safety risk because a substantial exterior component became a projectile at highway speed and could have struck the motorcyclist or another vehicle. There were no warning lights, messages, unusual noises, or other symptoms before the failure, and there was no known collision or impact preceding the incident. I did not initially know what had detached. After arriving home and inspecting the vehicle, I discovered the entire passenger-side front wheel-opening molding was missing. The detached component was not recovered. I reported the incident to my GMC dealer, which performs my regular service and warranty work. The vehicle was inspected on August 31, 2026. The dealer declined warranty coverage but, to my knowledge, did not determine why the component detached. Afterward, I inspected the corresponding driver's-side molding and found a substantial visible gap at its leading edge between the molding and vehicle body. Comparison with other GMC Sierra vehicles of the same model showed their moldings appeared to sit substantially more flush. The vehicle and remaining molding are available for inspection, and I have photographs documenting the condition. The cause of the failure is currently UNKNOWN. I have escalated the incident to GMC Customer Assistance under Case #109189284 and requested a product-safety review. I am concerned there may be an installation, attachment, or component-retention issue that could allow these moldings to detach while driving.

Engine (L87) blew up on I-80 in passing lane with no warning 14,635 miles. Almost got hit by several cars trying to get off the interstate. Sat alongside the road for 1 1/2 hours until tow truck arrived in 101 degree weather. GM provided no roadside assistance since it was a Sunday. They were incorrect with their information which caused us to walk to nearest Walmart several miles. We were 5 1/2 hrs from home and our son picked us up. GM dealer installed new engine and we were without our vehicle 45 days with no alternative transportation provided. Our repurchase was denied and was incorrectly done so by Iowa State Lemon Law (purchased in Iowa)

While driving the vehicle on the interstate, the vehicle shifted to neutral without warning. Our daughter was able to fortunately coast to the side of the interstate without incident. The vehicle was shut off and attempted to turn back on without success, so vehicle was towed to Lugoff Chevy dealership where repairs are always performed. The dealership stated the problem was related to fuse block melted and shorted. The problem was fixed; however, I am not convinced that this shouldn't be something requiring a recall and needs further investigation. There was no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure.

I purchased a 2007 GMC Envoy from Premier Auto Sales in [XXX] in XXX. I put down $1,250 and I pay $500 a month, $250 bi-weekly. I owe $4767 left on the vehicle in total. A month or two after I bought the vehicle, my car started driving rough and not being able to handle small bumps without rocking violently. I took the vehicle to Jay's Auto Repair in [XXX] where the owner [XXX] placed the vehicle on a rack and lifted it up to identify the issue. Both rear control arms rusted off of the frame and had completely unattached. While handling this, [XXX] called me over to come look at the undercarriage of the vehicle to advise me that the vehicle's frame is completely rusted out, and is not safe for my [XXX] [XXX], or myself to be driving or riding in. [XXX] then advised me to contact the dealership to at least see if they'd be willing to trade the vehicle in, so I could be paying $500 a month for a drivable, reliable and safe vehicle for my family and I. The dealership gave me 4 or 5 options on just as mechanically unsound vehicles with extremely high mileage, but I'd still have to pay a rollover on my current rusted out frame vehicle because he'd only give me $2500 for it in credit to another vehicle. Once I expressed interest in a Dodge Journey Crossroad they had, the dealership owner [XXX] advised I'd have to put more money down to get a car that good, and reliable if I wanted to trade mine in due to the unsafe frame. Since this discussion, I still have the vehicle in my possession, however I have become $500 default in payments due to different repairs needing to be made on the vehicle itself INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I have a 2023 GMC Yukon that has been to the dealership 3 times in a weeks time, and as of today, 8/31/26 will be the fouth time. On 2 occasions, the SUV has entered Limp Mode while driving. I had the SUV towed for the first limp mode, and the dealer claimed it needed recalibration modules. I picked up the car and drove home eight miles, and the check engine light came on. I returned the next day for readings and TCM P0700, P1789, U0101, U220F. The dealer's solution was to recalibrate the gateway module this time. I drove the car about 20-ish miles, and at highway speeds on the freeway, I got limp mode again. Off to the dealership, having the SUV towed again. The dealership has claimed the electrionic car codes clear themselves and because of that they can't re-create the codes to find a solution. I am scared to drive my SUV, I do not feel safe in it let alone my children.
