2022 HYUNDAI SANTA FE- SOUTH MILWAUKEE, WI
I was driving the vehicle my pregnant wife and 1 year old baby were in the car with me. Car started shaking and i was loosing speed right before getting off the freeway. There was a very strong smell of gas as if it was leaking but it was not. I have an appointment to be checked at the dealership Wednesday August 16th. This is the second time something like this happens while driving in the freeway.

The vehicle started stalling on HWY and check engine light came on. I was trying to accelerate as other vehicles were catching up but it won't do that. After a while it did regain the power. We took the vehicle to Hyundai dealership in Roswell, GA and they reset the check engine light. They told us that it was OK to drive with solid check engine light. We need to pull over and call roadside assistance if check engine light starts to blink. We have an appointment for oil change on 8/18 and when we bring in the vehicle at that time, ask them to do the diagnostics. Even yesterday, the car started to stall. Reported the incident to Hyundai case # 21849832. Error code on dash - P1C2D03

The rubber seal around the windshield is pulling apart and does not remain in the track. When I am driving greater than 30 miles per hour, the rubber seal comes out and flaps in the wind. Regarding my safety or the safety of others: I believe it exposes the security of the windshield which could become loose, crack or fall out. In addition, when it rains water could seep through and cause electrical issues. April 10, 2023 brought vehicle and showed issue, rubber secured. Advised normal. Issue continued. Brought vehicle to South Shore Hyundai dealer on 29/06/2023 and was advised it was fixed, on my way home the same issue resurfaced. Returned vehicle to dealership on Saturday 22 July 2023 for further analysis. Currently awaiting outcome of analysis from certified technician. I am seeking your help to investigate this issue of the broken seal, as I am concerned that maybe my vehicle may not be an isolated case and may require you to contact Hyundai America to investigate and resolve the problem.

While driving on highway on July 17, 2023, 2022 Sante Fe with less than 12,000 miles driven , suddenly lost power, RPM racing back and forth, and would not exceed 40 mph despite gas peddle to floor. Eventually was able to reach 60 mph, until reaching a slight incline where it dropped to 40 mph. I was seriously concerned I was going to cause an accident with several large trucks being forced to rapidly slow down behind me as lft lane was occupied by other vehicles. This is the second such incident. In October 2022, less than I month after I purchased vehicle new from dealership, vehicle suddenly lost power climbing a hill on a two-lane hiway with multiple vehicles not far behind me. I was terrified for fear of being hit from behind as this highway is curvy, heavily traveled, and bordered on one side with drops between 75-100 feet to the river below. The vehicle slowed to 30 mph despite trying to downshift/upshift pressing accelerator. There was no room to pull off road so I continued at 30 mph, trailing numerous vehicles until reaching top of hill where vehicle seemed to recover. Since I only owned vehicle for a few weeks I thought it was something I had done until I received a recall notice. Second incident above ocurred after vehicle had been serviced for recall.

I had previously filed a complaint and received an issue number 11494975 I have not been able to retrieve any information related to this number. In any event I am constantly having problems with acceleration, stalling, the car puts itself in Neutral, and on occasion has completely turned itself off at a light or while driving. I do have a video of the acceleration problem and revived an email back from Laura Nelson. This is a very serious safety issue. Hyundai is not responding to following up. I also took it to an outside mechanic to put in the computer and got a general code so there is a problem somewhere. Thank you Susan Piller

On FRI 30JUN23 while driving across country in out 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe with a panoramic sun roof with our daughter, who was on her first trip after battling brain cancer, experienced the unthinkable. Wile driving down the highway states away from home we heard a deafening explosion with glass raining inside the vehicle almost causing us to veer off the road. Upon expecting the source of the glass in was discovered that the sunroof had exploded. Were lucky to have had the shade closed at the time of the incident preventing glass to fly in the face of my daughter who was sitting in the back seat. The incident left us stranded at a Hyundai dealer in Fayetteville Arkansas forcing us to rent a vehicle to complete our tip while waiting for repairs. We were informed by the dealer that this is a known issue and to keep a window cracked to prevent pressure from building up in the vehicle. This is a searious safety issue that needs to be addressed.

On three separate occasions over 18 months, the car has entered into front collision avoidance mode by unexpectedly swerving the vehicle and braking. Twice I was on the tollway doing 70 mph on a 4 lane expressway and I drove in between two tractor/trailer semis. When I reached mid point, the car braked heavy on it's own and swerved first the right, then to left. In each incident, not only did it scare the hell out of me, I thanked god I avoided a major accident from crashing into the trucks and or being hit from behind. In the third incident (date of this complaint) I was driving over train tracks on two lane road at about 35-40 mph, there were yellow black traffic barriers dividing the narrow roadway at the tracks and the car suddenly braked and swerved, nearly getting me rear ended and putting me down into the culvert around the tracks. In each incident it was difficult to take control of the car back from the collision avoidance.

I was idling for 15 minutes and then drove for 10 minutes at which time the Check Hybrid System Stop Safely alert showed on my dashboard with the red light. I was on a bridge and could not stop in the middle, this was very terrifying and dangerous as I was loosing acceleration and speed and it felt like the car was about to totally turn off, i was losing control, I was pressing on the brake and i felt it was not braking at which I point luckily I was at the end of the bridge and pulled aside, and turned it off. I waited 15 minutes before turning it back on and drove it back home. As I was driving it I can see the battery level rising. I plugged the charger that night to charge it and it started charging but then suddenly stopped and would not charge. Since then I tried charging it again and it charges for an hour and stops. I took it the dealer at the earliest appointment I can get and they ran diagnostics and no code came up. They said that it had to do with the coolant and they put in a new coolant and that should hopefully solve the charging issue. I tried again to charge it at home and again it charged for an hour and then it stopped and will not charge again. I am scared to drive it far now and especially on brides.
