  • 1999 ISUZU RODEO
    - Phoenix, AZ

    The contact owns a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo. The contact stated that after he started the vehicle, the horn started to sound independently. The contact stated that he had to temporarily remove the fuse for the horn from the steering wheel. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the air bag needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

  • 1997 ISUZU RODEO
    - Maricopa, AZ

    This specific car with this VIN number is missing the back window and just a piece of wood is covering where the window should be. Grocery bags and rags are sticking out of the wood. A 10 month old child travels in this car in freezing cold weather conditions. Back seat rests were also missing from this vehicle so child is very unsafe in this vehicle

  • 2002 ISUZU RODEO
    - Festus, MO

    The contact's son owns a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo. The contact stated while driving downhill at 40 MPH around a curve with a child sitting in the rear seat, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond. Additionally, the contact stated that upon turning the steering wheel, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact continued driving until the vehicle responded. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while her son was driving the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the subframe was severely fractured. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V436000 (Suspension) had previously been completed on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 105,370.

  • 2022 ISUZU N-SERIES
    - Janesville, WI

    The contact owns a 2022 Isuzu NRR commercial vehicle. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the ignition switch was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 30 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The driver was able to veer to the side of the road. The driver was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and test-driven. The dealer informed the contact that upon test driving the vehicle, they could not duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled for a second time while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who test drove the vehicle. The dealer informed the contact that upon test driving the vehicle, they could not duplicate the failure. However, the OBD reader indicated that the vehicle had lost connection with the Engine Control Unit (ECU). The regional manager was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the failure was not a known failure and that the loss of connection with the Engine Control Unit (ECU) could not be the cause of the failure. The regional manager also informed the contact had to pay out of pocket for a continuous investigation of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 9,744.

  • 2001 ISUZU TROOPER
    - Chicago, IL

    The contact owns a 2001 Isuzu Trooper. The contact stated while entering and starting the vehicle, he noticed an extreme heat in the interior of the vehicle coming from the engine. The contact proceeded to shift the gear into drive however, while his foot was still on the brake pedal the vehicle independently accelerated. The contact had to pulled up the parking brake to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times afterwards. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure as a bypass for the fuel line and brake line failure that needed to be replaced however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause for the heat entering the vehicle from the engine. The mechanic was able repair the vehicle however, the contact was concerned that the heat coming from the engine would eventually destroy the engine and the vehicle would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 101,000.

  • 1993 ISUZU TROOPER
    - SAN PEDRO, CA

    The contact owned a 1993 Isuzu Trooper. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 MPH the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed. During the crash the vehicle experienced a rollover and the frontend was severely damaged but the airbags did not deploy. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The vehicle was destroyed and the driver sustained severe head injuries and a fractured spine. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was contacted. The local dealer was not notified. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 3,000.

  • 2005 ISUZU ASCENDER
    - FORT WORTH, TX

    DRIVING AT NIGHT ON HIGHWAY AND MY EXTERIOR LIGHTS WILL GO COMPLETELY OFF AND ONLY MY HIGH BEAMS WILL COME ON BUT THAT'S IT. THEY'LL COME BACK ON USUALLY WHEN I GET TO WHERE I'M GOING AND PARK THE CAR BUT DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN YOUR HEADLIGHTS GO OUT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS BOTH THE HIGH BEAM AND LOW BEAMS WENT OUT. BUT ON MOST OCCASIONS AND NOW EVERY OCCASION WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THE REGULAR LOWBEAM HEADLIGHTS JUST GO OUT RANDOMLY

    EXCESSIVE CORROSION MAY RESULT IN THE LEFT OR RIGHT REAR SUSPENSION LOWER LINK BRACKET BECOMING DETACHED FROM THE FRAME, WHICH CAN AFFECT VEHICLE HANDLING AND POTENTIALLY CAUSE A CRASH

    THE VEHICLES STEERING IS EXTREMELY LOOSE, IT SWIMS IN THE LANE WHEN OPERATING ON A HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS ABOVE 45 MPH WHICH IS DANGEROUS. WE TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER AND HAD ALL THE WHEELS ALIGNED AND BALANCED, BUT IT DID NOT HELP. I HOLD MY CDL-A AND HAVE DRIVEN A VARIETY OF TRUCKS, THIS IS NOT GOOD.

  • 2020 ISUZU NPR
    - TAMPA, FL

    THE LATCH THAT HELPS HOLD THE CAB IN PLACE (THE CAB FLIPS TO GET TO THE ENGINE) HAS POPPED A COUPLE OF TIMES WHILE DRIVING. THE CAB STAYED IN PLACE BUT IT IS DISCONCERTING TO HEAR ABOUT ONE OF THE PIECES THAT HOLDS THE CAB IN PLACE POPPING.
