My car didn't stop when I was parking. I went over the sidewalk and I hit the tree on the driver side passenger door. The tree and sidewalk slowed me down enough where I missed the head on collision with the building in front of me. I took pictures and reported it to my insurance.

My 2017 Jaguar F-Pace S (3.0L supercharged V6) experienced a sudden water-pump failure that led to overheating, loss of oil pressure, timing-chain slack, and complete engine failure. The failure began with the water pump, which caused coolant loss and intermittent overheating that was not accurately reflected on the dashboard temperature gauge. As the water pump deteriorated, the hydraulic timing-chain tensioners lost pressure, allowing the chain to slacken and eventually jump. This caused catastrophic internal engine damage, including piston-valve contact and metal contamination, requiring a full engine replacement. This sequence — water pump failure ? overheating ? timing-chain tensioner collapse ? engine destruction — is known to occur on Jaguar’s 3.0L supercharged V6 engines. Multiple owners have reported similar symptoms (water pump failures, chain rattle, chain slack, engine ticking, and full failure). Jaguar’s own Technical Topics documents acknowledge timing-chain slack due to tensioner issues on these engines. This is a safety defect because the engine can shut down suddenly while driving, which puts the driver and others at risk. My engine failed unexpectedly, without sufficient warning on the instrument cluster, creating a dangerous situation. I request that NHTSA investigate this defect pattern to determine whether a recall or manufacturer action is necessary to prevent further engine failures and safety risks.

My 2019 Jaguar F Pace has been leaking fluids for over 2 years. A mechanic repaired a coolant pump, however there continues to be fluids leaking. A mechanic informed me my car is making a sound as if the power steering is about to go, which will cause engine failure. After researching, it was brought to my attention this has happened to thousands of f pace owners. I am the only owner of my car which was purchased in April 2019, with 0 miles on it. It now has roughly 92,000 miles on it. I am concerned the engine will fail due to the faulty steering rack and believe this should be a recall. In my research, I found a customer that had to threaten a lawsuit to LRJ to have this issue covered at 100%.

The vehicle has experienced the Traction Battery Fault three times, which is the warning signal provided when there is a main battery fault situation. During the latest incident, the warning appeared and shortly afterward the vehicle emitted white smoke with an electrical odor and crackling from the front undercarriage. Emergency services were contacted through 911, and firefighters disconnected the 12V battery to stabilize the vehicle. Two previous traction-battery-related repair attempts were performed by Jaguar, and a third repair is currently underway. The repeated failure of the high-voltage traction battery system represents a potential fire risk and electrical hazard. I am reporting this incident to ensure NHTSA is aware of this high-voltage safety defect.

The contact's son owns a 2011 Jaguar XF. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed that gasoline was leaking from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V521000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The mechanic referred the contact to the dealer, who informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.

While driving on the highway at normal operating speeds, the vehicle suddenly lost power, and the accelerator pedal became completely unresponsive, preventing me from maintaining speed or safely exiting the roadway. This created a severe safety hazard, as I was unable to maneuver or pull off to avoid fast-moving traffic. Immediately after, I attempted to shift the vehicle into “Park,” but received an on-screen message stating that the transmission was not in Park, even though the shifter was physically in the Park position. The gear selector became disabled, and I was unable to shift into any gear. Despite applying the emergency parking brake, the vehicle continued to roll on its own, presenting a serious risk of collision or injury. There were no warning lights, messages, or alerts prior to or during the failure. I had no indication that a critical fault was occurring. The vehicle was later towed to a dealership. Upon inspection, a certified JLR technician discovered faulty wiring in the gear shifter assembly, which had caused a short circuit that disabled the gear selector, the Transmission Control Module (TCM), the Engine Control Unit (ECU), and the gearbox inside the transmission.

Vehicle Information 2020 Jaguar E-PACE VIN: [XXX] Approx. mileage: 84,000 Component Affected: Powertrain / Cooling System / Engine Complaint Description: My 2020 Jaguar E-PACE began showing coolant-related warnings and mechanical issues around 60,000 miles. Despite professional servicing, the vehicle experienced a catastrophic failure at 84,000 miles. The vehicle is now completely inoperable and parked dead in my garage. Jaguar Land Rover provided contradictory instructions: they advised I visit a JLR retailer, but later questioned me for adding oil at a certified shop. Most concerning is that Ms. Jeane Meyer, Executive Liaison at JLR, closed the case without even offering an inspection or diagnostic. She told me I was “on my own” with the issue, showing complete disregard for customer safety or support. This is a major mechanical failure in a vehicle under 5 years old, and I believe it indicates a manufacturer defect. I am requesting NHTSA to investigate.
