The seems on the can where the truck frame and RV frame come together were needing additional support and in my case support as there was no attempt from side to side swaying on the vertical seems. I had to bolt through the vertical seems with bolts and a piece of metal. Construction had to be done and done by me since I bought the coach used. I also had to reinforce the water tank as it was just sitting on plastic. This plastic was sitting on top of the wiring harness for the truck. It was also sitting on the propane line for the water heater. Could have resulted in a fire. Again since I bought the coach used and dealership told me to go pound sand.

The Lippert Schwintek slide system has failed on our 2020 Jayco Melbourne 24L at least five times (and been repaired 4 times - about to be 5 times) since it was purchased on 9/18/2023. When the slide fails, it is not locked into place and will extend out of the perimeter of the RV when driving around a corner or curve. This results in danger to us as it can cause us to lose control of the RV if it slides too far out while navigating a curve. We have had to stop on a busy interstate to push the slide back in! So far, only one of the slide corners has failed. If both fail, the entire slide will go out and will result in a catastrophic incident. When the slide mechanism fails, it makes a loud "pop". There is no other warning or indication that it is about to fail. The failure happens at the end of the cycle of either retracting or extending the slide. The slide has been inspected, worked on and repaired by certified RV Technicians and a certified RV repair service center. Both RV Technicians and the service center have confirmed the slide failure. There are many, many other owners who have the same slide failure and eventually give up and have it replaced spending thousands of dollars for an upgraded system. The Lippert Schwintek system is NOT sufficient for a slide of this size, hence the repeated failures, according to the RV Technicians and service center.

On [XXX], I was driving my 2021 Jayco Motorhome built on the Ford F53 chassis on a trip to Tucson, Arizona. On my way there, just outside of Clovis, NM, I noticed a strange vibration in my front end. When I attempted to slow down to enter Clovis, I heard grinding as I stepped on the brake and had a hard time slowing. We immediately searched for a local Ford Truck repair shop. Finding none anywhere close, we drove to Clovis Big Rig Repair. The repair shop immediately had us pull in. They jacked up the front of the rig and noted that the driver’s side of the rig’s wheel bearing was loose. When they checked the passenger’s side tire, the tire moved back and forth approximately three inches both ways. Upon further inspection they discovered that both bearings had been installed with very little grease. When the passenger bearing failed, they also discovered it damaged the hub and both the bearing and the hub had to be replaced. Fortunately, this wheel bearing failed on a flat straight road. We often travel the interstate through the mountains. Had this wheel bearing failed coming down a mountain, on a curve, the results could have been catastrophic. The independent repair shop verified the issue. The inspection interval as stated by the Ford Service manual is 60,000 miles. This failure occurred at 28,426 miles. The repair shop probably still has the failed hub and wheel bearings, if you desire to inspect them. There were no warning lamps to signal a failure. I have the receipts for the repairs which state the failure occurred due to "no grease". I will provide these to the NHTSA if requested. The contact owns a 2017 Jayco Alante RV. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the RV was shaking abnormally. The contact stopped and parked the RV and performed an inspection. The contact became aware that the four passenger’s side braces used to connect the body to the subframe of the RV were fractured. In addition, the contact stated that due to the failure, the RV was leaning to the passenger’s side. The contact stated that the dealers had refused to diagnose or repair the RV because of the fiberglass part. The RV had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000. The VIN was not available.

[XXX] we were camping in Maryland. I attempted to exit the motorhome through the only exit door. When I turned the door handle to open the door the handle fell off. We were not able to exit the motorhome. I called the RV Office and they sent over a maintenance man who had to open the door from the outside. The back end of the handle fell off the handle. The handle is made from aluminum and the end is rolled over there is a snap ring in a groove as cell. The snap ring groove apparently wore out which caused the whole device to fall apart. This could have been a catastrophic event in the case of an emergency. I could not locate a replacement part in the area where we are camping so I decided to fix it myself. I went to the hardware store and purchased a 5/16 by 18 tap and a drill bit and a washer and a bolt. The entire lock mechanism should be reworked to prevent a possible fatality. The heat shield above the catalytic converter and associated pipes were not extended far enough which caused the pass through storage and wiring harness covering to melt. This could have been a disaster. There is a recall on 2018 and prior same models for the exact same problem. Jayco is of no help as there is not a recall for this year model. There are other owners with the same problem. This could cause a fatality while driving

Ever since it was purchased new in 2021, the RV leans excessively to the passenger side even when it is unloaded and not moving. The dealer stated this is normal due to the weight distribution of the interior components. I recently noticed there are signs of the passenger side inner rear tire rubbing on a piece of chassis sheet metal, where the clearance is less than 1" on the passenger side. The same area on the driver side appears normal, with ample clearance (approximately 3-4") and no signs of tire rubbing. I am concerned about the rubbing tire causing a tire blowout. I am also concerned about the vehicle tipping over around a corner due to the preexisting leaning of the coach. The vehicle is available for inspection. On 6/3/24, I started a dialogue with the manufacturer concerning this issue. The manufacturer has not yet inspected the vehicle.
