2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Complaints

A message comes through the dash screen saying Def service 50 miles left vehicle not restart again , I take it to dough smith jeep dealer in Spanish fork for diagnostic they told me to replace a lot of things like def pump, def injector and NoX sensor (bank 1) we do and we didn’t solve the problem after spending thousands of dollars and im not able to get my Emissions ready because of that , automatic brake system failure it says to clean the sensor I cleaned really good but keep showing brake failure message

Without incident or warning, front passenger seatbelt will not retract, pull out or lock when jerked. Inspected 1/13/25 by Capital CDJR, Garner,NC 919-582-0202, found to require replacement per Mopar Warranty Bulletin#D-21-04 dated 3-24-2021. Service Advisor and Parts stated that seatbelt is on NATIONAL BACKORDER, can't be ordered and no ETA can be provided, although my name was added to "the list." Please note that this Warranty Bulletin was published FOUR YEARS AGO, yet parts remain unavailable. Online research indicates this safety failure was investigated by NHTSA and caused Mopar to extend seatbelt warranty coverage. Without replacement parts sourcing, without ability to order, without an ETA, the situation still exists without resolution. When will this become a priority? Thank you.

While on highway, wipers, lights and horn began on their own. Then car shifted to neutral and brakes failed. I was going 70 miles per hour. I was able to get off the highway and have the car inspected by a licensed mechanic. It is the electrical computer or TIPM. The car is unable to start. This issue is a very dangerous safety issue.

Fuel spit back on refueling. Repeated attempts produced same result. Dealer said need to replace fuel tank due to check valve problem. Researched found this is continuous problem with Grand Cherokee and other jeep models for several years. Cost the replace tank us excessive.

Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and the starter was replaced. The contact stated that several months later, the contact stated that the "Service Shifter" warning light flashed on the instrument panel with the gear shifter lights flashing. The contact stated that the vehicle independently shifted into neutral(N) while driving at 40 MPH. The contact drove the vehicle back to the independent mechanic where the mechanic test drove the vehicle. The mechanic informed the contact that he had experienced the failure while driving over a bump in the roadway and several warning lights flashed on the instrument panel. The contact was informed that the failure might be related to the electrical system and that the vehicle was unsafe to be driven. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 165,000.

The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, who determined that cause of the failure was caused by the thermostat again. The thermostat was replaced again. The contact stated that several days later the engine and coolant warning lights became illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who determined that the failure was due to the starter and the engine. The mechanic informed the contact that the engine and starter needed to be replaced. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 185,000.

Gear shifter put the jeep into 4th gear on freeway. The issue has been confirmed by a dealer and is still an issue that the car is not drive-able. Vehicle has not been inspected. There were no other issues until this issue presented.
