2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Complaints

When raining the water will leak throug the sunroof or headliner not sure where it comes through but it comes from 2 places one hitting the arm rest / middle console which caused the terrain selection to go out and im worried it will cause the screen or something else to go out and catch on fire as I read it is common with these problems , when I purchased the vehicle as well they said it was just a frozen trunk gate spring but once I looked up the problem happening it is said to cause the gate to go out

Drivers side head rest airbag deployed for no reason. Something in it broke and now it doesn’t work and airbag service light is on.

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while his wife was driving at approximately 80–85 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The driver was able to veer safely off the road. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V411000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was repaired. After retrieving the vehicle from the dealer, the contact's wife noticed that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The dealer informed the contact about the codes and determined that the throttle body and the tone wheel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no additional assistance was provided. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number 23V411000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) and 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel). The failure mileage was approximately 143,000.

Th cylinder has low compression causing misfire in the vehicle. The misfire can cause the vehicle to lose power. If you lose power on a highway it could cause an accident. This has not happened to me, but I have read the cyinder issue is a common problem with the 2015 jeep grand cherokee Seems like bad parts. A mechanic has ascertained the problem with my vehicle. If this is a common problem why has the manufacturer not fixed the problem and inspected these parts?

Driving on highway 290 West near Waller. At 75mph I attempted to pass slower traffic by accelerating after moving into the farthest left (passing) lane when my Jeep lost power. Had to maneuver while coasting between traffic in lanes (frogger anyone?) to farthest right lane by coasting through to an exit by chance. Would not restart while coasting. Traffic line formed behind me for those also seeking same exit I needed at the last second. I was unable to fully move into shoulder because of debris seen and fear of damage to tires. After coasting to a full stop a quarter mile from Love's Truckstop, put vehicle in park, and was able to restart after hesitation. Engine light on with my reader stating "confirmed" codes P0336, U1401; and a "pending" code of P05ED. Now takes 3-5 seconds to start when used to be "instantly." In a nutshell, this was not fun. :| Note to manufacturer , please stop skimping out on quality.

The seat belt will not latch properly, it can take up to 10 minutes or longer fasten the driver's side seat belt. Now that I have it locked, I have to crawl in and out of the seat belt. I dare not unlock the seat belt in fear that I will not be able to get it to lock back. Please note, each time I have locked and unlocked the seat belt it has progressively gotten worse to lock the seat belt. I am at the point where I now longer unlock my seat belt, as I states earlier, I fear that I will not be able to lock it back.

The active headrest deployed while I was driving on [XXX] returning home from work this evening. I was very fortunate not to hit the truck next to me or run off of the road as the force of the blow was enough to thrust my head forward and make me see stars. I was able to pull over and after about 10 minutes I was able to see clearly and was no longer too dizzy to drive. This malfunction is extreme dangerous and could very easily result in severe injury or loss of life due to causing a crash. I will be following up with my physician as I suspect the force I felt was certainly enough to cause a concussion. My passenger side seatbelt does not retract. The plastic “D” ring at the top is broken and it causes the seat belt to not retract. I have read that many people have this issue. I contacted my dealer and they said there was no recall on this part. Because it does not retract, it doesn’t “catch” and causes a safety hazard. A passenger would not be restrained in an accident.

High beams are not activating when enabled from the steering column. Both automatic and manual switches for the vehicles high beams do not enable the lighting in front of the car. The odometer also does not signal the high beams are active in this scenario as well.

Driver's seat - headrest burst apart, airbag did not deploy. No accident, clips somehow broke and headrest is separated with airbag and internal components visible. Not sure when this happened and/or if we were even in the car. Reporting today because we had other service performed on vehicle and asked automotive shop to look at headrest. I googled this and came across others who recommended reporting to you.
