2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Complaints

The computer/screen died disabling most of the essential controls/functions of the vehicle including: hands free calling, control of the temperature/air flow, park assist/safety options, security features. This issue also disabled the ability to control other functions such as the windshield wipers and drained the battery until it died. The battery had to be recharged and then after that any time I turned the car off I had to unplug the battery so that it wouldn’t be drained.

While driving down the road my driver's side head rest popped open causing my head to be pushed forward. As a result I had to pull over and stop my vehicle. It caused head and neck pain. There were no warning indicators on the vehicle at the time of the incident. It has not yet been inspected by a dealer or service center nor was there a police report or insurance claim.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Drove over a bump in a parking lot and the front of the headrest "popped" out hitting the driver in the back of the head. Within two weeks of the incident the driver has experienced blurred vision, neck pain and headaches. Several visits to different physicians as well as MRI and CT scans. Neurologist suspects whiplash.

Headrest deployed without being in accident. I was about to put my car in reverse when the incident happened. If I was driving and it happened it could have caused me to wreck.

3.6L Pentastar engine is defective. In October 2020 (55,000 miles), there was a ticking noise coming from engine and reduced engine power. Fields Jeep Dodge Ram Chrysler replaced right intake camshaft and 6 lifters, rockers, and related gaskets. In April 2021, I noticed same ticking noise; brought back to dealership; dealership found "nothing wrong." In March 2022 (70,000 miles) I heard same ticking noise; brought to dealership; insisted something was wrong. SURPRISE! This time, ALL (12) ENGINE lifters/rockers/gaskets & camshafts replaced. Now, May 2023 (80,000 miles) there is, again, ticking in engine/loss of power; this time there is a noticeable bucking and surging when the engine is cold. There were no warning lights or messages on the dashboard to indicate impending engine failure. Symptoms I experienced were loss of engine power, ticking, and bucking/surging. I WISH someone from NHSTA would come and inspect the car. Safety issues can arise if the engine fails while being driven - increased risk of stalling, loss of motive power, obviously collision, any number of things. On two separate occasions, Jeep dealership identified and "fixed" the issue with the same faulty parts that caused the problem in the first place. Other than the dealership, no one else has inspected the vehicle. This issue is ongoing and will continue to occur as a result of an inherently faulty engine design, for which the only remedy is to fix it with the same defective parts.

I HAVE HAD MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE RELATING TO RECALLS. LAST MONTH HAD HAD $2,800.00 IN REPAIRS DONE TO THE VEHICLE RELATED TO TWO RECALLS (Z46 & W79) I HAD TO HAVE ALL OF MY FUEL LINES AND FUEL FILTERS REPLACED AND THE AIR INTAKE MANIFOLD REPLACED AND CURRENTLY THE VEHICLE IS NOT RUNNING AS I LOST POWER ENTERING THE HIGHWAY MY MECHANICE DIAGNOSED IT AS CODE P0336-00 CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR PERFORMANCE WHICH IS COVERED UNDER RECALL W58/68 TO DATE JEEP HAS DENIED THAT ANY OF THIS WORK IS RELATED TO RECALLS AND DENIED MY REIMBURSEMENT REQUEST I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP IN RESOLVING THESE ISSUES AS I CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE TRANSPORTATION AT MY DISPOSAL EVEN THOUGHT RECALL W58/68 STATES THAT TRANSPORTATION TO BE PROVIDED IF NEEDED I CAN SUPPLY YOU WITH RECEIPTS AND EMAILS FROM FCA JEEP DENYING MY CLAIMS THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP IN THIS MATTER

The adaptive headrest deployed while I was driving. The clips broke and it is not able to be put back.

The headrest on the driver's side seat just spontaneously deployed and sprang forward. Thankfully it didn't cause an accident but now the headrest will not go back into position because the clips are busted. No warning of any kind and no reason to think it was faulty but apparently the clips are faulty because they busted causing the headrest to spring forward unexpectedly.
