2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Complaints

Both driver side and passenger side doors are clicking when they open and close, seems like a hinge has been damaged. When opening the doors they will close on their own quickly unless opened all the way.

The dashboard is got some wrinkles which makes me think the dashboard is weak now, so when the airbag comer out the dashboard may come out

Oil pump assembly. The problem was confirmed by a independent service center. As I was driving down the highway at 40/45 mph, I heard a knocking sound under the hood. I pulled into a shoping center got out to go into a store came back out turned on the jeep and the engine light came on. Drive home called my mechanic. He said don't drive it have it towed in, it might be the oil pump or power train modular. It was the oil pump. My mechanic said I was the forth person to bring my jeep in with this problem within the last 2 weeks

Driver headrest deployed with no reason while driving 45mph in a busy avenue during rush hour (5pm). It hit driver in the back of the head causing confusion and dizziness. Found a small plastic piece broken inside mechanism. Headrest still installed, haven't taken it to dealer for repair because online comments says repair would be around $900 at my own expense and no way I'm paying for a malfunction.

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, she noticed fluid leaking from the vehicle onto the ground. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the radiator was leaking and needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the radiator and the electronic control module. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, she heard an abnormal ticking sound coming from the passenger's side of the engine. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer Maguire Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Syracuse (959 Hiawatha Blvd W, Syracuse, NY 13204), where the camshaft exhaust, intake plenum, valve, tappet valve lash, housing thermostat, coolant, gasket cylinder head cover, engine oil, seal spark plugs well were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring more frequently. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who informed the contact that the engine needed to be taken apart in order to diagnose the vehicle. The contact was then informed that the engine was dissembled and reassembled. The contact was unsure whether the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.

The contact's son owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while her son was driving 60-65 MPH, the vehicle started shuddering. The ABS, traction control, and check engine warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle decelerated to 30 MPH and stalled while driving on an uphill ramp. The vehicle failed to restart, causing another vehicle to strike the driver's side of the vehicle. There were no injuries sustained. The vehicle was pushed downhill with the assistance of a police patrol. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine was blown and needed to be replaced. Additionally, the dealer diagnosed that the thermostat, radiator, starter, and motor mounts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 116,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH and making a right turn, the vehicle inadvertently turned in the opposite direction and the contact lost control of the steering wheel. The traction control warning light was illuminated. The contact depressed the brake pedal but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact continued to turn the steering wheel until she regained control of the vehicle. The contact veered to the side of the roadway. The contact then pulled into a parking lot and parked the vehicle. The contact was able to drive to her residence. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V332000 (Electrical System, Vehicle Speed Control) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair; however, the dealer declined to honor the recall repair and informed the contact she had to pay for the repair. The dealer diagnosed that the DTCM (Drive Train Control Module) had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure and inquired about reimbursement; however, the manufacturer denied her claim after several attempts. The failure mileage was approximately 177,060.

While driving ALL headlights suddenly went out. This has happened a few times now while waiting for our service appointment. It has occurred in both high and low beam configurations. The lights have failed when the dash switch is in the Auto OR in the On positions. The vehicle is definitely available for inspection, however it is currently being serviced for this defect. Failure of all forward-facing lights could be fatal at speed. We were in our driveway and on small town streets when it has occurred, but next time? We showed the service representative a video of the failure recorded 09/21/2022 in our driveway, high beams on and switch in Auto position when all lights failed. I did not check for OBDII codes.

I can hear My Jeep clicking into every gear and making a ticking noise this is because of the faulty shifter in these jeeps. Also the computer isn’t working correctly software is to old to update.

The passenger seat headrest violently exploded open while I was driving. If this were to have happened while someone was in the car, or on my driver's side headrest, someone could have easily been injured. It sounded as if an airbag opened in the car. I have not gotten it inspected yet but have read multiple forums of this happening on other 2014-2015 jeep Grand Cherokee and am wondering how this is not a recall. No warning signs given.
