There is a loud clicking in the steering wheel and the car is all over the place while driving. I was told by three mechanics that it is the steering coupler gear. In 2022, our airbag light came on. On 5/10/2022 am Airbag recall was issued and it was fixed. The airbag computer/module was fixed. We got into an accident in August of 2022, and our airbags never went off. And the airbag light has never shut off since it was “fixed” May 2022. It’s now October 2025. They said nothing was wrong with it, after bringing the vehicle in multiple times. And now after bringing it in, again in August 2025, they said the entire passenger airbag unit needs to be replace and isn’t related to the airbag recall. It’s $800+ and Kia won’t do it since the warranty has expired and it’s “not related”. Still fighting with them over it. As the airbags recall in 2022 included a defect where the Airbag Control Unit (ACU) cover can contact a memory chip, potentially deactivating the airbags. This issue affects a range of models manufactured between July 2016 and January 2019 and can result in the airbags failing to deploy in an accident. Worst customer service and vehicle I’ve ever owned.

  • 2021 KIA TELLURIDE
    - BROOKLYN, MI

After warranty work was performed on my Kia Telluride at an authorized Kia dealership, I discovered that the rear driver-side seatbelt had not been bolted back down. It was completely loose and hanging under the seat. This means my family could have been driving with no seatbelt protection at all. This is a serious safety failure and clear negligence. A seatbelt is one of the most basic, life-saving components in any vehicle. For a dealership to return a car to a customer without confirming all seatbelts are installed correctly shows a complete breakdown in safety inspection and quality control. When I contacted the dealership, I received no apology, explanation, or acknowledgment of responsibility. No one followed up or offered to inspect the vehicle. I also contacted Kia America Customer Relations, but I have not received any response. If such a fundamental safety step can be missed, I am extremely concerned about what other oversights may occur during Kia service work nationwide. This situation should be formally investigated by the NHTSA. I’m requesting a full investigation into Kia’s service procedures, technician training, and inspection protocols to ensure that no other vehicles are returned to customers in unsafe condition. Please treat this as a formal safety complaint. A loose seatbelt is not a minor error, it’s life-threatening negligence. I want this fully investigated and documented under my VIN, with confirmation of corrective action. My family’s safety, and that of other Kia owners, depends on it. • 2022 KIA SORENTO
    - Peoria, AZ

2022 Kia Sorento X-line SX Premier model (89435 miles) 2.5 l Turbo GDI is going into limp mode when trying to accelerate. The (A) Auto Stop indicator illuminates. Pulled car over, placed in park, turned off, restarted after waiting about a minute, no warning lights, car drives and acceleration is normal. About one year ago, car experienced the same problem, took to dealer for diagnostic troubleshooting, the battery was suspected and replaced, issue persisted, the codes indicated either low pressure or high pressure fuel pumps, the low pressure pump was replaced, after further drive testing by the dealer issue was still present, the high pressure pump was replaced and the issue was resolved. Fuel pumps were replaced under warranty. Kia dealer said that Kia engineering believes the issue is possibly heat related, I live in Phoenix, Az. Summertime temperatures exceed 100 degrees in summer some days exceeding 110 to120 degrees. A month ago September 2025, the car experienced limp mode again this time with check engine light, problem was identified with faulty low pressure fuel pumps gasket which was replaced. The limp mode has been experienced again 5 times in last month, twice today. Ambient Temperature in 80s. This is a significant problem that could lead to a possible accident if the car fails to accelerate properly. My wife is afraid to drive the car until the failure mechanism is identified and is properly repaired.
