2021 KIA SELTOS- Jerseyville, IL
My car originally qualified for an engine replacement through the recall because it failed the test they performed. The engine is on recall and I have had a rental for close to 3 weeks. Today Kia called me and said due to changes in the inspection process and criteria for the recall my car no longer qualifies for the engine replacement and I need to return my rental and pick up my car. I refuse to put my family in an unsafe car because Kia figured out a way to get out of replacing the engine.

2025 KIA CARNIVAL- Leo-Cedarville, IN
The "consider taking a break" feature pops up every 5 minutes when I am driving and it is beyond distracting and leads me to believe I have something wrong with my vehicle. There is no way to turn it off. Please demand that Hyundai/Kia issue a software update so I can turn this off. Thnaks!

2013 KIA SOUL- Yuba City, CA, CA
Steering wheel making a loud CLUNK sound. Possibly the steering wheel coupler. Concerned that steering wheel might malfunction while driving. Checking for any recalls prior to making an appointment with dealer. Vehicle has not been inspected. Noise started about a month ago and progressively has gotten worse.

2025 KIA NIRO- Findlay, OH
The engine light went on. I took the car into the dealer, where they explained that the navigation system needs to be updated. But they couldn't update the navigation system, because the Kia website for that is down. Since this isn't actually an engine issue, I retrieved my car. The dealer suggested that I try to update the nav system myself, as the website for consumers is different from that for dealers. No dice: that website is down. 1. The fact that my car needs a map update causes the engine light to go on? That's misleading--bad design, in my opinion. 2. The navigation system update website being down means that I'm driving around with the engine light on. If an engine issue occurs now, I might disregard it because the light's on already. 3. According to Kia's technical service bulletin on this subject, nav system are available in spring and fall. So if I do get this fixed anytime soon, it'll just happen again in the fall.

2013 KIA SORENTO- St. Louis, MO
The car just completely stalled while driving on a busy street with myself and my children in the car. I first was alerted that it may just be the starter by a local mechanic. I fixed that and it still would not start. I then went and got a new battery and that did not work either. At that point I had the car towed to the Kia dealership. The mechanic told me that the car engine was a part of a recall for Kia. He told me that he would put the claim in and that Kia would fix it. He told me to send in my registration and drivers license. A couple of weeks later he informed me that they would not fix my engine because the registration was expired. The expired registration has nothing to do with their faulty recalled engine. I had this issue escalated and still was told they would not fix it.

2022 KIA SOUL- Lancaster, OH
I am writing to formally report a concern regarding my 2022 Kia Soul, which is exhibiting symptoms identical to those described in NHTSA Recall 25V099000 (engine recall for excessive oil consumption and potential fire risk in 2.0L Nu MPI engines). Vehicle Information: VIN: [XXX] Year/Model: 2022 Kia Soul -Engine: 2.0L Nu MPI -Manufacture Date: October 2021 -Current Mileage: 61,091 My vehicle is consuming oil at an abnormal rate. I have documented that oil levels drop dangerously low by approximately 2,000- 3,000 miles after each oil change. Multiple inspections by Kia service technicians at Ricart Kia in Groveport Ohio (where the vehicle was purchased) and 1 time at Coughlin Kia in Lancaster Ohio and they have found no external leaks and no visible signs of burning, yet the issue persists. I have also undergone Kia’s standard oil consumption test at 1,000 miles post-change, but the issue does not manifest at that point — only after continued mileage, as oil loss becomes more pronounced past the early driving phase. Which fits with the description of the piston rings causing excessive oil consumption… a common pattern with defective oil rings: the oil consumption ramps up after initial miles, especially once the engine is fully warmed and carbon buildup begins interfering with the rings after an oil change. Per Ricart Kia in groveport, I am now getting an oil change every 3,000 miles to prevent issues or damage and also having to check my oil every day. Upon the most recent oil change at 3,000 miles..I was nearly empty. My vehicle’s manufacture date and engine match the criteria in Recall 25V099000. Despite this, my VIN is not currently included, even though I’m experiencing the exact issue the recall describes. I’m concerned this is an oversight or that my engine batch was mistakenly excluded from the initial VIN list. I am requesting: A formal review of my VIN for inclusion in Recall 25V099000. 2015 KIA FORTE- Minnetonka, MN
The engine in my 2015 Kia Forte (VIN: [XXX] ) experienced failure tied to recall code P1326, which is associated with bearing wear and potential engine seizure. The vehicle entered limp mode around [XXX] at 152,170 miles, despite early signs of failure starting at 131,000 miles. These included loss of power, rough idle, and a check engine light (CEL) which triggered the P1326 code confirmed by both a pre-scan and Kia dealership. System that failed: The engine and powertrain system. Issue stems from rod bearing wear as identified in Kia’s engine class-action settlement. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: Limp mode drastically reduced engine power on a main road. I could not safely accelerate, which created a hazard in traffic. Additionally, oil loss was confirmed on multiple occasions, and misfire codes were detected. This could have led to engine stall or seizure if I continued driving. Was issue confirmed by a dealer or service center? Yes. Lupient Kia confirmed P1326 at 133,703 miles. Luther Kia later confirmed limp mode and conducted a diagnostic at 152,170 miles. Was vehicle/component inspected by others? Yes. Jiffy Lube documented "no oil on stick" at 130,367 miles. O’Reilly Auto and Economy Muffler later confirmed related secondary issues. Were there symptoms or warnings prior to failure? Yes. CEL appeared at 131,000 miles. Knock sensor was replaced at 131,165 miles. P1326 and oil loss symptoms were consistently documented between April 2024 and April 2025. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2023 KIA SPORTAGE- Sparta , MI
My car is a 2023 Kia Sportage with 38,000 miles on it. I was informed upon getting my brake pads changed that my master cylinder for my brakes were not working, which is extremely dangerous and should not have happened until the car had at least 100,000 miles if ever. Not only did I have to pay out-of-pocket because Kia refused to get me in for a month so I had to go to a private repair shop to get this taken care of even though I was under warranty. This extremely concerning.
