2021 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER Complaints

We recently bought this vehicle a few weeks ago. Since we’ve had it I have been noticing a strong smell of burning engine coolant. I have looked at similar models of the 2021 Range Rover sports and they do have recalls for issues with the engine coolant system. I assume this is the same problem the phev Range Rover sport is having. Today I have a low engine coolant message pop up on the dash.

I received a letter in August 2025 informing me about the passenger airbag recall for 2020-2025MY Land Rover Range Rover Evoque that said parts and remedy are not yet available. I received a second letter in February 2026 that said parts and remedy are available and advising I schedule a service appointment with Land Rover Range Rover dealer. I've called three Land Rover Range Rover dealerships in the DC-MD-VA area, and each one has told me "the parts are not available and are on backorder, and we don't know when they will be available" with no additional information about how I can get the parts/service when they are available. IF I'M DRIVING MYSELF AND MY FAMILY IN AN UNSAFE VEHICLE AND SOMEONE IS HURT OR DIES, WHO WILL BE HELD LIABLE? I WOULD JUST LIKE TO HAVE MY VEHICLE REPAIRED TO SAFE STANDARDS. THANK YOU.

Vehicle: 2021 Range Rover Sport Component: Suspension – Dynamic Response / Active Roll Control System The vehicle experienced a failure of the Dynamic Response / Active Roll Control system, which is a hydraulic suspension stabilization system designed to reduce body roll and maintain vehicle stability during cornering and evasive maneuvers. Inspection by an authorized Land Rover service center confirmed that the failure was caused by severe corrosion and deterioration of the hydraulic lines supplying the Dynamic Response system. The corrosion caused hydraulic fluid leakage and a complete loss of hydraulic pressure, disabling the system. This failure occurred on a 2021 vehicle, and the amount of corrosion present on these hydraulic lines appears premature for a vehicle of this age. These lines are critical components of the vehicle’s stability system and would normally be expected to last significantly longer. When the Dynamic Response system loses hydraulic pressure, the vehicle loses an important stabilization function that helps control body roll and maintain handling stability. With the system disabled, the vehicle may experience increased body roll and reduced stability during higher-speed cornering or emergency maneuvers, which raises safety concerns. The issue was confirmed by the servicing Land Rover dealer. The dealer diagnosed hydraulic line corrosion and failure resulting in loss of system pressure. The repair is replacement of the front and rear hydraulic lines, refill and bleeding of the hydraulic system, and recalibration of the Dynamic Response system. The estimated repair cost is approximately $10,000. The vehicle is operated in New York State where winter road salt exposure is common. Hydraulic lines associated with a vehicle stability system should reasonably be expected to withstand normal environmental exposure, including road salt, for a longer period of time. The contact owns a 2021 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact stated that while his wife was operating the vehicle, the battery indicator warning light was illuminated on the instrument cluster. The following morning, the vehicle failed to start and became inoperable. An independent mechanic initially replaced the alternator; however, the alternator replacement failed to fix the vehicle. Several diagnostic tests confirmed a failure of the DC-to-DC converter. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V683000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) as a possible cause for the failure; however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 31,600.

My car completely died and would not start up ending up towing it to the mechanic and he said it was the dc to dc converter and I heard this has been happening to mild hybrid Range Rovers / Sport an all electric ones too.

I took my car in for an oil change, and they noticed a faint fuel smell (Which I had noticed as well). I had them look deeper and the found a small fuel leak, requiring Part LR140080 to repair. This part is worldwide back ordered from Land Rover. When I ordered at the Range Rover dealership they noted 146 people in front of me with no ETA in sight. The representative advised that the car was not safe to drive and they have a car at the dealership that has been waiting since November? Unacceptable. How can there be no recall if this is a known issue? The dealership noted that any fuel related issue has safety implications (fire, etc) I had a check engine light on which has since gone away. The shop ran a test and noted that the car was running in "lean" mode due to this part issue. Vehicle was operating normally on interstate traffic at 70mph when vehicle suddenly flashed "Charging system fault" and the vehicle then would not accelerate and dropped to 25 mph. Trying to exit the interstate and vehicle went into limp mode and battery icon showed up. Had to be towed to Range Rover dealership Range Rover said the issue was a DC / DC converter. They replaced this and are now saying the BISG alternator is at fault. Repairs will be close to 8k without a confirmation this will be the fix. Not comfortable driving the vehicle even with the 'fix." A vehicle "Dying" on the interstate at interstate speeds is dangerous. The problem is known on the internet and by range rover. Not sure if component has been inspected. 2021 Range Rover Sport 53k miles

The alternator on my vehicle (DC to DC convertor) went while driving home with only one sensor prompting me to turn back around and head home to be safe. The car essentially died and power steering was lost. There were no prior warnings or indicators of an issue. I had 15 minutes to make it back home. The car died in intersection, luckily at corner of my street and folks had to help push it into the driveway. Having searched for a replacement, there are no after market options, no used options, and my mechanic was told we are customer 30,335 as THOUSANDS of owners are experiencing this very same problem. The estimate weight time for the part was 3 months, at the least. So, we are stuck with an invaluable car, sitting for three months, and forced to pay storage fees at the mechanic shop as well as keeping current on the monthly car payment.

Took my vehicle in for suspension noise and was told the front passenger side steering knuckle is cracked at the upper ball joint mount. There is a current recall for this issue for model years 2014-2017, but not for 2021 models. This issue appears to be greater than originally expected.

My seatbelt malfunctioned and does not latch. The part that the seat belt goes into is not catching
