Rear seat in 2025 Range Rover Sport closed on my arm while returning to upright position, trapping me with no accessible manual release. Required assistance to be freed. Resulted in numbness and ongoing nerve/tendon pain. While parked in my driveway, I activated the electronic control to raise the left rear passenger seat from a folded position. As I reached in to remove an object (umbrella) to prevent obstruction, the seat closed on my right forearm and elbow, trapping my arm. I was unable to free myself. The seat would not move, and there was no accessible manual or emergency release within reach. The only release control was located near the rear liftgate, which I could not access while trapped. I called for help but could not be heard due to nearby landscaping equipment. A worker attempted to manually free the seat but was unsuccessful. I was ultimately freed when my husband activated the electronic release from the rear cargo area. Following the incident, my arm and fingers were numb. I continue to experience ongoing tendon and nerve pain in my forearm and elbow. Rear seat lacks an accessible emergency/manual release within reach of passenger area. Seat did not stop or reverse when encountering resistance, creating a risk of entrapment and serious injury.

While traveling from Los Angeles, California to Tucson, Arizona with one passenger, the vehicle experienced a sudden and dangerous loss of multiple critical systems while driving at highway speed. Earlier during the trip the vehicle stopped in Quartzsite, Arizona. When attempting to re-enter the vehicle, the key initially did not unlock the vehicle. The driver contacted Range Rover roadside assistance and asked for guidance, but no explanation or solution was provided. After several attempts the vehicle eventually unlocked and started. Approximately one hour later, while driving eastbound on Interstate 10 at highway speed after dark, a yellow battery warning light appeared on the dashboard. Shortly afterward a red battery warning and a red triangle warning appeared. Within minutes of these warnings, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion and the transmission shifted into neutral. Immediately afterward, the vehicle lost electrical power and the dashboard and exterior lights went dark. At the same time, steering assistance and brake assist were lost, making it extremely difficult to control the vehicle. The driver had difficulty steering the vehicle and slowing it safely while traveling on a busy highway with heavy truck traffic behind. Because steering assistance and brake assist were lost, the driver had very limited ability to maneuver the vehicle safely. The driver was able to slowly reduce speed and move across several lanes of traffic to the right shoulder of the highway, stopping near Exit 109 (Sun Valley Parkway) on Interstate 10. The vehicle stopped approximately 300 feet before the exit ramp. Because the vehicle had lost electrical power and exterior lighting, the vehicle was difficult for other drivers to see in the dark. Several large trucks passed close to the stopped vehicle. The driver used a mobile phone light to signal the vehicle’s presence and reduce the risk of being struck. The vehicle was later towed to an authorized Range Rover dealership in Tucs

Back-up camera malfunctions periodically. They tried to fix it, but it is still happening. When I put it in reverse, it says "cameras not available." It creates a risk for me as I am used to parallel parking using it, or when I am coming out of my garage, among other places and times. It is unpredictable - sometimes it happens several times a day, then it doesn't happen for a few days. There must be a way to fix this for good. It has never happened with several other cars I used for a long time.

There are two primary complaints on the vehicle since it was lease on May 26, 2025. (1) Clunking metal on metal sound when the vehicle is in reverse as well as sharp right or left turn or general braking. The sound is most audible on the rear right side of the vehicle. This matter was reported > 3 times to the Freeport Landover Dealership; the last visit was in October 2025. During the visit the Techs claim not to hear any noise and the issue persists, even at time of this complaint. The vehicle has about 5,100 miles and has been in for service, since June11, 2025, July 2025, August 2025 and was held there until Sept. 30, 2025. (2) Reported brake issues as of June 2025, within 1 week of having the vehicle. September 2025, after two previous visits and the vehicle being held from 8/29/2025 through September 30, 2025, the front brakes were changed and again the squeaky brake issues is still happening every time it rains or snows or I get a car wash. It is evident this vehicle has defects since manufacturing. I had for 4.5 years, the Range Rover 2020 Evogue, which I traded in for this Range Rover Sport and had ZERO mechanical issues.

This is a plug-in hybrid vehicle. Twice now the car has powered on but would not go into gear or move. Selecting drive did nothing and pressing the accelerator had no effect, leaving the vehicle completely immobile. In both instances I was left stranded and had to have the vehicle towed (once on 10/10/25 and again on 11/11/25). This did not happen while driving in traffic, but it created a safety concern because the car was unable to move when it should have. The issue has not been explained or resolved through service.

The lane assist system causes unintended steering intervention, actively pulling the vehicle toward hazards and off the roadway. The vehicle forcefully steers toward turning lanes, skid marks, and normal road markings, creating a serious safety risk. This behavior occurs at speed and is terrifying and dangerous. The same behavior occurred in a Range Rover loaner vehicle of a different model, indicating a systemic defect rather than an isolated issue. Due to safety concerns, I have been forced to disable lane assist to prevent loss of control. The issue has been presented to the dealer multiple times and remains unresolved.

I am filing this complaint regarding serious and ongoing safety and quality issues with my 2025 Range Rover Evoque S. Since shortly after taking delivery, I have experienced persistent problems that have not been resolved despite multiple service visits over the past year. As a result, I have lost confidence in the safety and reliability of this vehicle. The issues include an overheating wireless charging pad that becomes unsafe to use. This issue has been acknowledged by the dealership as a known problem. During an early service visit, a representative advised me to purchase a third party wireless charger rather than offering a repair. The vehicle also has persistent interior rattling from the rear passenger side that continues despite repeated repair attempts. During my most recent service visit, I was told that the vehicle is built plastic on plastic and that this noise should be expected. Most concerning is an active passenger airbag recall issued Aug. 27, 2025. Due to a cyber incident affecting Land Rover systems, there is currently no remedy available. Because of this unresolved recall, I do not allow passengers in the vehicle, as I do not believe it is safe. This restriction has been in place for months and has significantly limited my ability to use the vehicle. I only drive when absolutely necessary. Because the dealership was unable to resolve these issues, a retailer representative who has been aware of the problems from the beginning recommended that I pursue a vehicle repurchase through Land Rover. I followed that recommendation and formally requested a repurchase. Land Rover denied the request without explanation and referred me to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to file a complaint. I remain in possession of the vehicle but no longer feel safe or confident driving it. I am submitting this complaint so these safety issues are formally documented and reviewed. While driving on the highway, a strong burning smell began inside the vehicle, similar to a brush or forest fire. At first it was unclear whether the smell was coming from outside, but when traffic slowed, smoke was seen coming from the driver-side wheel well and from under the front hood. No warning lights, alerts, temperature warnings, or malfunction messages appeared before or during the smoke. The vehicle was moved off the highway to a side road. Upon opening the hood, light but steady smoke continued from the engine area. The coolant reservoir was full and there were no visible leaks. The vehicle continued to smoke consistently for approximately 50 minutes while waiting for a tow truck. After the vehicle was loaded onto the flatbed and transported back toward the highway, an orange glow became visible inside the cabin, indicating an active fire had started inside the interior. The tow truck driver immediately pulled over, used a fire extinguisher, and unloaded the vehicle from the flatbed for safety. Smoke increased significantly from the cabin and wheels. Both white and black smoke were present. Police and fire department personnel responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was a nearly new plug-in hybrid with low mileage, and there were no dashboard warnings or prior symptoms of failure. The cause of the fire is unknown, but it appears related to a malfunction involving the electrical, battery, thermal-management, or propulsion systems. The event presented a significant safety hazard to occupants, the tow operator, and other motorists.

Passenger side seatbelt was locked so tight during accident it cut off breathing to passenger. After several attempts, I was able to finally release the seatbelt. After the accident and passenger was out of seat, I tried to relatch the seatbelt. I tried moving the seat back to give more room to latch the seatbelt in the loose position however it still 3 to 4 inches away from latching.
