    The contact owns a 2023 Land Rover Defender. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle shut off unintendedly. There was an unknown electrical warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failure with the DC converter Part Number: 433123464. The contact was informed that the part needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the part was on backorder. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 61,000.

  • 2016 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT

    On 17th of January, 2026, the backseat door, behind Driver's seat, failed and continues to fail to close and/or latch shut due to door/keyless latching mechanism/system. On January 17, 2026 backseat door, behind Driver's seat, swung open twice while driving and would not latch or shut close. Backseat door, behind Driver's seat, continues to fail to close or latch shut securely. Only warning of this was the lights turning on in the vehicle during the event. Upon returning home and looking up online what could be the cause and how to remedy I found Land Rover Recall P068, which states: NOTIFICATION OF SAFETY RECALL P068: VEHICLE DOOR MAY NOT LATCH, SERVICE BULLETIN. 16-JUN-15 NO.: SRE15-12 SECTION: RECALL MARKET: USA: A concern has been identified on 2014-2016 model year Range Rover Sport (L494) and 2013-2016 model year Range Rover (L405) vehicles where customers have reported the door is unlatched when in the closed position and no indication provided of a of an unlatched condition. Some customers have reported that one door has opened while the vehicle was in motion. No notification was ever received for this recall. I contacted the Van Nuys Land Rover dealership that same week and was informed they would not remedy and no recall existed.

    Fuel tank on both sides is rusted through, tracking this shield holds the actual plastic tank in place and prevents the tank from coming lose. Pieces of the metal are literally rotted and rusted.

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V454000 (Air Bags); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was contacted several times. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

  • 2022 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT

    The contact owns a 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who determined that the CVVL (Continuously Variable Valve Lift) gasket had failed and the CVVL system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

    The rear gas tank has started to rust and creates a safety issue since the metal shield is a different material it creates a galvazing effect on the metals due to them being seperate materials

    My L405 has an issue with rusted fuel tank shields. This is a safety issue being that these shields are also responsible for holding the tanks in place. My dealer in Bedford, NH recognized the problem and recommends shield replacement.

    Subject: URGENT: Investigation Request – Systemic Loss of Propulsion in Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Vehicles (2017–2026). 1. Description of Defect I am formally reporting a critical, life-threatening safety defect involving the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the Fuel Pump Driver Module (FPDM) in Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) vehicles. These modules suffer from spontaneous software "resets" or "reboot" loops during operation. When the PCM resets, it severs communication with the fuel system, causing an immediate and total loss of propulsion (motive power). 2. Safety Hazard and Real-World Impact This defect triggers without warning at highway speeds, resulting in vehicles stopping abruptly in high-speed lanes. This creates a "sitting duck" scenario, rendering the vehicle unable to move to a shoulder and significantly increasing the risk of catastrophic rear-end collisions and multi-vehicle pileups. Reported incidents include near-misses and accidents directly attributed to this sudden stalling. 3. Timeline of Manufacturer Awareness (2017 – Present) JLR has been aware of this specific PCM/FPDM communication failure since at least 2017. Internal documentation, such as NHTSA Technical Bulletin SB-10095121-1020, identified short circuits in the PCM/FPDM line for 2017 F-PACE and XE models. Subsequent bulletins, including MC-10218879-0001, admit that software "flashing" is ineffective and that FPDM hardware replacement is often required. Despite nearly a decade of internal knowledge, JLR has failed to initiate a comprehensive global safety recall for all affected VINs, opting instead for localized "Service Actions" that do not permanently resolve the hardware instability. 4. International Context and Manufacturer Inaction The Chinese State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has already summoned JLR officials regarding these stalling failures.
