2025 LEXUS TX Complaints

While my 2025 Lexus TX was parked in my residential garage, the vehicle suddenly locked itself with my [XXX] and [XXX] children and my phone inside. The doors had been unlocked prior to placing them in the vehicle. Without warning, the vehicle locked all doors and windows. The key fob failed to unlock the vehicle electronically or manually. My husband and I attempted for over 30 minutes to gain access while the children remained trapped inside before calling the dealership for technical help. They instead transferred us to Lexus roadside assistance. Lexus roadside assistance advised calling [XXX] to break the windows or otherwise enter the vehicle forcefully. However, before we could call, my husband figured out how to get a narrow opening to access the vehicle through the trunk to enter the interior and lower the windows in order to remove the children safely. The vehicle was taken to the dealership for inspection. This malfunction created a serious occupant entrapment safety hazard involving infants. Basically, the instrument cluster lighting is very, very poor. Very difficult to read when driving, especially in a day break. You must turn off your daylight running lights to make it a little bit brighter. This is a problem.

While stopped in traffic with my foot firmly on the brake pedal, my vehicle began accelerating forward unexpectedly. The vehicle seemed "possessed". It was as if the gas pedal was fully on the ground while my foot was still on the brake, so the car was lurching and seemed to be fighting itself. The vehicle continued moving forward and would not stop despite sustained and hard brake pressure. I was rapidly closing distance on the vehicle in front of me and narrowly avoided a collision by inches. The vehicle only stopped after I shifted it into park and then I shut the car off. This was a terrifying and dangerous event. The vehicle accelerated against brake input and created an immediate collision risk. I reported this incident to my local Lexus dealership (Lexus of Fife, WA). However, the dealership minimized the event in their service documentation and did not accurately record my description of unintended acceleration while braking. At that time, I was informed that Lexus had issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) related to this issue but has not issued a recall or broadly notified owners. If the manufacturer is aware of this defect and has not initiated a recall, I believe this poses a significant public safety risk. This issue presents a serious safety concern involving unintended acceleration despite brake application. I am concerned that other drivers could experience similar incidents, potentially resulting in injury or fatal accidents. I suspect that accidents have already resulted from this. I am requesting investigation into this defect. Owners should be notified and this should be recalled immediately.

Third-Row Noise: A popping noise is often heard when the third-row seats are folded down.

Lexus TX hood flutters at highway speeds, Dealers acknowledging the issue and confirming no repairs available. Created a case with Lexus corperate office, so far no resolution after submitting vehicle report from dealer visits. This issue is similar to GX hood issue, but Lexus is not looking into this and acting like we are not aware of this and no one informed.

My son was sitting in his rear passenger side seat belt and he shifted in his seat and became entrapped in his seatbelt which i could not release in any way so i had to pull over on the 15 freeway on a trip back from Las Vegas in the middle of a highway with no visible exits and cut him out of his seatbelt

We leased the Lexus at the end of May 2025. My husband I drove the car. It was nice. My husband and I are in our early [XXX] . Meaning we are very capable of driving. We both ride motorcycles, snowmobiles, dirt bikes,4 wheeling and we also own 1957 truck, 2024 corvette, and we even both drove our own corvettes at the spring mountain in Nevada. That being said this car is a nightmare. I don’t need a car to take over my driving, braking, and anything else. Whether it’s driving 75-80mph and you are on a major interstate and it decides that the sweeping curve is dangerous while I’m passing a semi or a string of cars! I don’t need it to slow down because it thinks too fast of a curve?!?!?. I took it to Brookfield Lexus for over a week I spoke with service told them what I dislike about the car. The one service tech said,”. You are not the only one that dislikes all of the safety features”! I asked him can you remove all of the safety features, “ he said not sure but we will do what we can”! When I picked up my car on Dec 20,2025 they showed me that only a couple of safety features can be shut off. The other ones have to be shut off manually everytime you start the car!!!!! I should not have to go into the computer and manually shut other features off because it’s back to flashing, beeping, and any other annoying features to put me in danger because it’s telling me you are going to have an accident!!!! It’s a distraction that is a problem. My daughter drove it home with our small trailer in a snowstorm last Sunday . My daughter was changing lanes and when she did your auto braking took control and she almost went in the ditch. With the trailer on the back it started to slide because it was overcompensating which put my daughter, the car, my trailer, and anyone else near her in danger. I spoke with Lexus Corporate and filed a complaint. They said there was nothing wrong with the car. There is a major problem with that car. TX hood flutter at highway speeds, dealer acknowledged the issue but not able to resolve the issue, as he was able to see hood issue with other TX models.

In March 2025, pulling out from parking lot into traffic and accelerated but vehicle slowly moved forward even though accelerator pedal was more than halfway down. Luckily, the oncoming vehicle had time to slow down and avoid hitting my vehicle. This is the same problem that Toyota Grand Highlander Platinum owners have been experiencing. This is a safety hazard especially when your accelerating into traffic and the vehicle basically craws forward.

On 9/24/2025, while stopping in front of house to back into driveway, main 14 inch display screen went blank. The forward camera was not displayed. Upon putting vehicle in Reverse gear, display screen remained blank and no reverse camera was displayed. After shifting vehicle into Park, display screen continued to be blank not showing main control interface. Main 14 inch display screen failure. Loss of forward, surround and reverse cameras. Loss of control display.
