2008 LX570: This is my second time owning a Toyota/Lexus vehicle with the 3UR-FE/5.7L V8 and each has had the same issue. At 156,000 miles, noticed a nauseating smell of oil and coolant enter the cabin via the air vents. Noticed oily residue around front and sides of engine, no check engine lights. Took vehicle to Lexus dealer who reported that timing and valve covers were leaking oil and that the valley plate/heat exchanger was leaking coolant. The smell of oil and coolant entering the cabin caused me and my occupants to become nauseated and dizzy while traveling with the air on. Total estimated amount of repairs, $5,400. Was informed by Lexus service tech that the Toyota/Lexus sealant around timing cover and heat exchanger/valley plate were defective and that this would happen to all engines of this class (3UR-FE/5.7). Contacted Lexus Customer Care and was advised that due to vehicle being out of warranty, there was no concern to offer any incentive toward repair, regardless of the intoxication/inebriation that passed from the engine bay into the cabin. Toyota/Lexus refuses to issue a campaign or customer incentive program to resolve this issue. This is a very costly repair that can harm the lives of others via poisonous run-off that occurs when oil and antifreeze leak onto the engine while at time, causing fumes to pass from the engine bay to the cabin via the air vents. Another safety issue if this is left untreated would be the engine running completely out of oil and antifreeze, causing vehicle and occupants to become stranded. This is also a fire hazard with oil leaking onto a hot engine while at temp.

I was a passenger in an accident. I was sitting in the front passenger seat. We were sitting in standstill traffic. Our vehicle was struck from behind; it caused the vehicle to shift and was hit again on front driver side of the vehicle. Airbag’s deployed on the driver side (front and back) but not the front passenger. Seatbelts were worn. I suffered a concussion and a herniated disc.

The speakers in my car made a loud noise and I thought someone hit my car. Ever since then it’ll keep happening and it’ll startle me when I’m driving. Sometimes my speakers would have really loud static sound and it’s impossible to turn it off. It’s extremely dangerous to be startled like that when I’m driving.

While driving home in the freeway, I felt my car shake then a sudden loss of power. Then my CEL started blinking and my VSC lit. Got a code for engine misfire(P0302). Is250 has a lot of cases on engine misfires because of excessive carbon build up because of how the engine is designed. My car only has 108,000miles. Lexus released a Customer Support Program for this problem but it already expired. They only gave 9 years from date of purchase for it to be eligible for the free fix. It means they are aware of the problem but my 2010 car just missed that window but I am having the same problem many IS250 owners have. It is really unsafe when you’re driving in the freeway then it suddenly loses power. Hopefully this problem gets resolved by Lexus soon.

This is an original equipment Yokohama Geolandar tire with 26,650 miles size 225/60R18. We were traveling on I-80 through a work zone at 50 mph. We noticed our tire pressure indicator was lit. On a separate info screen, I could see the pressure on each tire and watched the passenger front tire at 14 psi and then decline. This told me we had a blowout rather than a leak. The other 3 tires were at the normal 35 psi. Through the work zone, the shoulder was closed, so I had to drive on the tire with inflation below 10 psi until I reached an area wide enough to safely pull over, about 2 miles. The blowout was surprising as we did not hit anything and there were no potholes. Everything was normal until the tire pressure light came on. On inspection at the Lexus dealer, they were unable to determine the cause but noted damage on the sidewall due to driving at low inflation.

The contact owns a 2020 Lexus RX350. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine. The contact stated that the vehicle felt as if it was losing motive power and stalling. The contact depressed the accelerator however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after driving for less than a mile, the vehicle started operating normally. The contact stated that the engine failure had become a recurring failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the contact needed to use Premium gasoline and not regular. The contact stated that he made the switch however, the failure persisted. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V682000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000.

On Friday, June 03, 2022 as I was leaving the dealership in the 2020 Lexus ES 350 loaner vehicle, I put the car in reverse to back away from the wall, and then put the car from reverse into drive that resulted in it lurching forward momentarily. I did not hear the engine revving, probably because I wasn’t paying attention, but my partner who was seated next to me in the driver’s seat said he heard it. He suspected that the dealership loaned us the vehicle that had a similar issue that caused it to move forward. When I saw the definition of sudden unintended acceleration, I felt that it could be that. I didn’t think it was me. I drove the Lexus home, which was across the street from the dealership and no one drove it during the next few days. On Tuesday, June 07, 2022, we were scheduled for a medical appointment 80 miles away. My partner cancelled it but I decided to take the Lexus out to the store and there was no incident so the appointment was rescheduled for June 09. On Thursday, June 09, 2022 at about 11:30AM PDT, I brought the 2020 Lexus ES 350 loaner vehicle to a stop using the brake pedal. The car was about 12 feet from a landscaped island that separated two parking areas. I was looking to find a parking space that had tree shade. Without moving my foot off the brake, the engine began revving at the same time the Lexus sped forward on its own. I was fully cognizant of what I was doing and what was happening specifically because of what had occurred the Friday before. At the time that the vehicle moved forward, I was doing nothing but pressing my foot on the break. There was nothing obstructing the pedals on the floor as we had made sure of that during the preparation for the trip. The rate of speed that the vehicle was going when it jumped the curb of a landscaped island no more that 3 or 4 feet in diameter is something I would have never normally been able to achieve. Water may leak from heavy rain, from the sunroof region into a part of the roof, leading to water leaking from the interior microphone above the driver seat. Seems to be a common issue amongst 2016-2017 RX350’s but no recalls. This is a safety issue given that the microphone is where the water leaks to, compromising other electrical systems. In addition, water builds and wets the headliner causing mold/mildew smell, possibly leading to future mold build up which is harmful to health. Lexus in Houston inspected and stated a new sunroof is needed, which is costly, although this is a manufacturer flaw.

On march 17, 2022, I purchased 4-Michelin CrossClimate2 car tires (245/45R19/XL 102V) for my Lexus LS460. From the attached photos you can see how soft the rubber is as tested with a Durometer Meter reading of 54 compared to 64.5 Meter on the replaced Michelin Radial MXV.4 tire. Never had a single problem with the MXV.4 tires. Those tires came with the Lexus and had a hard rubber ridge just above the rim which protects these tires from damage. I don't remember ever running into a curb with the CrossClimate2 tires that caused the damage to the tire. The scuffing of the rim wheel is due to tall curbs, narrow tires, narrow drive ways and the driver of course. The CrossClimate2 tire was on the front driver side and usually never is a problem with contact with the curb, these rims have been rotated many times and show curb scuffing. The 4-Michelin CrossClimate2 rubber is very very soft and should have a protective edge to the tire and harder rubber like the Michelin Radial MXV.4 tires, there is no protection as is the case with the Radial X. I spoke to Michelin help desk twice and only received a directive, talk to your dealer. I purchased these tires from Amazon Business and had Walmart install the tires. I checked the Durometer on two of the CrossClimate2 tires still on the auto and the Durometer reading is not consistent on the rubber hardness, telling me there is a problem in manufacturing and quality control. The 4-Michelin CrossClimate2 tires are defective in manufacture and design and I would not recommend them 100%. As soon as I saw the slit in the tire I went to a Tire Dealer who said that the tire could rapture, so I removed the CrossClimate2 tire and replaced it with the spare, Michelin Radial MXV.4 on August 26, 2022.

This vehicle has run flat tires oem, tire flat warning light comes on for a while then goes off for a long time then comes back on. Tires behave like they want to go on their own direction. Vehicle came with no emergency spare tire or tools to replace tires.
