Vehicle: 2008 Lexus IS350 Issue: Excessive oil consumption and fuel/exhaust odor I am experiencing what I believe is excessive oil consumption with my 2008 Lexus IS350. I’ve had to regularly add oil between scheduled oil changes, and I’ve noticed that the oil level is frequently low with no external leaks visible. I’m concerned that this may indicate a known issue with piston rings or internal engine components. In addition to the oil issue, I have recently started smelling strong gas or exhaust fumes while the engine is running, especially at idle or when the car is warm. I am worried that this may be related to catalytic converter damage caused by prolonged oil burning. I believe this may pose both a safety risk and an environmental concern, especially if the catalytic converter is compromised. I have not yet received any recall notices or service bulletins related to this issue, but I am aware that similar Toyota and Lexus models have had oil consumption problems tied to engine design.

For several years now, I have been experiencing incidents where someone and/or a group is hacking into my radio and/or satellite radio systems and trying to lure me into conversation, make comments, or actually sing to whatever it is I'm listening to. Most incidents have been reported to the NHTSA, which they have been filing. Please know that sometimes the "noise is constant", as well as it appears that someone is actually connecting to my vehicle because I can feel it (also reported). I also hear people speaking from the outside of my vehicle (usually the front end on both sides). It has become a distraction at times, which poses risk to not only myself but other drivers as you can imagine. What can be done to mitigate someone attaching to my vehicle? I am also under the impression that they are recording me or using me as podcast material, which is against the law in various states to varying degrees and without my authority. Please advise, as it has been ongoing for years. Thank you for your assistance. DATES OF INCIDENTS: Ongoing since late 2018, if not earlier.

Brake failure while driving. The brake pedal went soft when pressed and all the associated warning lights illuminated. ABS, traction, control, etc. This is a known issue for Toyota and Lexus, and even after servicing my vehicle at the dealer for the last two years I was never notified that this was a concern.

I am speaking on behalf of my [XXX] mother who owns the car. Summarily, we took the car to two Lexus Service Repair shops (i.e. one in Glendale and one in Longo, El Monte). On [XXX], we the brake and tire sensor lights came on. We first took it to Lexus of Glendale. The diagnosis and estimate was to cover these items: tire sensors, brake sensor, brake pads, air filters, oil change, and nav system to fix the defrost buttons, the DVD software for the nav system, and anything that would cause the brake/ABS emergency light and tire pressure lights to come on. Prior to that, we replaced all 4 tires, upper and lower suspension arms, air filters, fuses, alignment, etc. Both lights (tire sensors and brake lights in the dashboard came on the last week of January 2025. The total cost was $4200.00. Then the same day my mom rolled over a speed bump, and the tire sensor lights came on. She went back and they did not replace the tire sensor lights and we opened up a case on this issue. Then a day later, the brake light and ABS light came on. After a couple of days of that, the brakes would lock up before she turned on the ignition. We filed a complaint with Department of Consumer Affairs, BAR. We scheduled an appointment with Lexus of Longo. Mr. Lam said it could be the actuator and it would cost $4200.00 because we missed this 2017 warranty. I told him we never received any letter from Lexus's CSP warranty program on the brake actuator. And instead, we only received leather interiors or glove compartment interiors. I asked if I could take a photo of this warranty. He allowed me to. Today, after the diagnosis, he said he would charge us $3000.00 for the actuator. I am wondering if you could intervene and have Lexus cover this warranty for my senior mother. She does not have money to buy a new car right now, nor can she learn the new technology on the new cars. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Starting from a stop in a residential neighborhood, stepped on the gas to go and turn left and the vehicle hesitated and lacked power. It almost felt like it was trying to start from a stop in too high of a gear, but this is a 6 speed automatic vehicle. After panicking a little, backing off the accelerator pedal and stepping on it again, power came back so I could complete the turn. If there were other cars coming straight through the intersection, I would have been hit. Informed my local dealer about it and that the Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid has a service bulletin (T-SB-0017-24) to address this very issue I encountered and that the Lexus TX500h has a similar drivetrain set up, but was told Lexus has no such service bulletin to address this issue. There were no warning lamps or indications from the vehicle that anything was wrong and it has only happened once so far, a few days ago, since I purchased the vehicle new at the beginning of December 2024.

Please add to previous filings / communications - thank you. PROBLEM PARTS: Satellite Radio and/or AM-FM Radio; Bluetooth; Speaker System; Unknown Device The parts have not malfunctioned however, there appears to be a person and/or group attaching to my vehicle via several conduits related to any radio input and/or speakers. This has been ongoing for years where I have submitted previous reporting based on hearing voices not directly affiliated with the broadcaster(s); being the victim of Havana Syndrome; Radio-Frequency Assaault; Satellite Terrorism, and other unwanted Amateur Radio broadcasters that may or may not be acting with malintent. I am still hearing information in and outside of my vehicle - some of which are directed against my person. Furthermore, someone is now "connecting to my vehicle" (I can feel hits to both the front and back of my vehicle) while I am sitting in parking lots, rest stops, gas stations, etc. This "connecting to my vehicle" via hard hits became obvious since last week ([XXX]) in Warrendale, PA while I was reviewing my travel plans. After the "hits" I began hearing voices in my car, as well as from externally. The voices and/or broadcasts I am hearing are mainly derogatory, pornographic, and/or threatening in nature and, at times, have caused me to get confused that may or may not become problematical when driving. There are also broadcasts that sound as if they are trying to recruit or lure me into sex trafficking, as they state that I have no money, etc. Lastly, I am being told that I am unloved, have no family, and that my family is somewhere else - that I can have a baby, etc., - that "You are one of us." [sic] Since leaving my father's home ([XXX]), there have also been several incidents of Satellite Terrorism and Havana Syndrome associated with various locations: Erie, PA to Texas to North Carolina, etc. - at every hotel, rest stop, while sitting in my car, etc. I believe someone is trying to abduct me.
