    Backup camera has failed. This is a very important safety item to avoid injuring children playing behind the vehicle.

  • 2015 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR
    - Vernal, UT

    The contact owned a 2015 Lincoln Navigator. The contact stated that when started, the air conditioning system became inoperable. The contact observed smoke coming through the air vents. The vehicle was turned off. Additionally, the contact observed fire coming from under the glove box. The Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire. The origin of the fire was unknown. The contact stated that the vehicle was a total loss. The contact was unsure where the vehicle was taken to. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 59,000.

  • 2015 LINCOLN MKC
    - Norfolk, MA

    Rear camera operates irregularly. Sometimes camera works and sometimes it doesn’t. When shifting into R, we never know if rear camera will work or not. This is a very unsafe condition as it limits our ability to view images behind us when backing up. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Camera has not been inspected by a service center due to cost of repair or replacement.

    The contact owns a 2013 Lincoln MKX. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the brake pedal was firm, requiring added force to depress the brake pedal while attempting to stop the vehicle. The ABS and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and determined that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 199,000.

The contact stated that the dealer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the part was shipped to the dealer to perform the recall repair.   • 2020 LINCOLN AVIATOR
    - Paoli, IN

    The passenger door switch for the door release is inoperable which prevents the door from being opened from the inside. I’m scheduling a visit to the dealership for replacement. Loss of switch operation prevents easy exit during an emergency due to not having a mechanical backup release mechanism as on the driver side door. The vehicle did not notify that the door switch was inoperable.

  • 2012 LINCOLN MKZ HYBRID
    - Tumbling Shoals, AR

    The contact owns a 2012 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. The contact stated that while his grandson was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced a loss of power steering assist. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the power steering control module was reprogrammed; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was determined that the steering gear assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.

  • 2017 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR
    - Delray Beach, FL

    The contact owns a 2017 Lincoln Navigator. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the contact depressed the brake pedal due to traffic ahead; however, the brake pedal went to the floorboard. The contact stated he was forced to swerve into the next lane to avoid a crash. The contact stated that the "Check Brakes" warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and advised the contact that the brake master cylinder was leaking and needed to be replaced. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V150000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) and informed to take the vehicle to a local dealer. The contact drove the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the brake master cylinder needed to be replaced; however, the contact was informed that the VIN was not included. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.
