  • 2014 LINCOLN MKS
    - Stevens Point, WI

I currently own and am driving a 2014 Lincoln MKS, my fourth such vehicle over the past several years. Lincolns have been one of my favorite vehicles however, I am writing to bring to your attention a recurring issue with the climate control system that may warrant further review as a potential safety-related defect. Many owners, including myself, have experienced a situation where the vehicle's heating system automatically increases to full heat without any driver input. In my case, both sides of the dual-zone system simultaneously rise to maximum temperature, regardless of the settings selected. This behavior appears to be linked to a failure of the main blend door actuator. While this may seem like a comfort issue at first glance, it can quickly become a safety concern. Sudden, uncontrolled heat output can fog windows, distract the driver, and create uncomfortable cabin conditions that may impair focus. Given the number of similar reports from other owners, I believe this issue may merit further investigation. I respectfully request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (and Ford) review this matter to determine whether a recall or service campaign may be appropriate. Thank you for your time and attention. I appreciate your commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

  • 2017 LINCOLN MKX
    - Easton, MD

Urgent Safety!!! I called and spoke with Lincoln Client Relations Center regarding two recalls that are for the exact same vehicle I now own; 2017 Lincoln MKX, VIN: [XXX] . The recalls that are in existence for 2016-2018 Lincoln MKX vehicles are NHTSA recalls: 20V414000/Ford 20S37 and NHTSA recall 20V399/Ford 20S35. Both of these recalls explain specifically and exactly what has happened to to my front driver's seat. Representative states that my VIN is not assigned as having this recall. The problem as explained in these recalls are as follows: -front seat wiring harness may chafe against seat frame; leading to potential airbag failure or unintended deployment. Harness wires can become damaged. My seat will go forward/backward, but does not tilt or recline. According to these recalls, it states that power seats have insufficient clearance between main seat wiring harness and metal cushion frame edge. Because different motors rely on different pin outs with that single harness, a partially severed harness will kill specific functions like tilt, and recline). Which is exactly what no longer works. While leaving the track forward/back in tact. And that's all that is working in my vehicle presently. Lincoln rep I spoke with tells me they only issued for certain MKX's, but mine describes the same exact problems. This is a safety hazard for any driver, and Ford/Lincoln should acknowledge this recall is happening to other Lincoln MKX owners . I do hope that the NHTSA will take this seriously as this is a serious safety concern, when you're talking about airbags deployment failure. I do hope that the NHTSA can relist or reissue this recall for additional VINs, including mine. This should not be overlooked. And I do expect that someone will respond back to me so that I can have this repaired at a local Ford/Lincoln dealership without cost to me, the owner. • 2017 LINCOLN MKC
    - Sugar Land, TX

Lincoln MKC 2017 Engine failure due to Coolant leak. Bought new Lincoln MKC 2017. The current mileage is 52, 500. Upon Starting, engine would shake for about 10 seconds. The Engine light would come ON. Engine light would turn OFF and ON for few weeks. The Dealership diagnostic indicated code P0301. I was advised Full Engine replacement. Currently the Engine is not starting at all. I have heard it's a design issue with the Engine. I have contacted multiple Lincoln dealerships, and each one has its own engine replacement costs. Lincoln Concierge declined my request to help in anyway although it seems to be a design issue with the Engine.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH the brake warning light had illuminated and the brake pedal extended to the floor and the vehicle did not immediately stop while pressing the brake pedal. The vehicle was slowly driven to a nearby garage who diagnosed that the rear brake hoses had failed causing brake fluid leak from the vehicle and the brake master cylinder had also failed. The mechanic informed that both rear brake lines were installed making contact with the transmission and eventually became damaged. The rear brake lines and master cylinder were replaced. • 2017 LINCOLN MKC
    - Marshallville, GA

I took my vehicle to the local Ford dealership for service due to a check engine light being on. They pulled the spark plug and found the cylinder full of coolant and found TSB-22-2229. I called Lincoln and was told they wouldn’t assist me because I fell outside their time and mileage limits. This issue should have been a recall due to their defective engine design. Engine replacement is very costly and the company should take responsibility for this flaw.
