The major issue that happened to our newly purchased CX 90 last February 3 with more than 500 miles on it started around 5:30 pm of February 8, while my wife is driving this vehicle with my daughter, all of a sudden the car stopped at the middle of the road with warning signs popping up in the dash screen like I-active sense malfunction, hybrid battery malfunction, engine malfunction light on, and on top of these, critical vehicle malfunction. The car won't start and disabled. Also, the vehicle cannot switch to neutral gear to push/pull the vehicle to the side that made the vehicle blocking the roadway until the tow truck came in. My wife and daughter's life was put in danger when this vehicle suddenly stopped in the middle of the road with cars passing by on both ways. I also found out based on the NHTSA vehicle safety, Mazda recall website, carfax and Kelly blue book, that this particular vehicle with its VIN has a SAFETY RECALL due to its steering issue that may increase risk for crash. This was not disclosed to us when we are on the process purchasing this vehicle and they did state inspection and passed it that made we doubt how did it happened.. The vehicle is now with the dealership repair shop and the last update I receive was the technician is still checking on it.

On 02/07/2024, malfunction prompts displayed on my dash relating to I-stop functionality, hybrid functionality, engine. Took the vehicle the next day to be diagnosed, the appointment was set as an inspection with oil change, filter change, and the prompts on my dash. I was advised that the issue to the prompts stemmed from the hybrid battery. I was told that contact was made to the manufacturer and that the battery would have to be replaced. The battery is on backlog and it would be about a month to arrive. I called in after leaving with additional questions as to the safety of the vehicle with the hybrid battery problem. The man on the phone said it is safe to drive, what would be affected would be the mileage I would not get because the hybrid portion was not functioning. He mentioned that a separate case was created with another 2024 cx-9 car owner with the same hybrid battery issue. It’s now two known cases with the hybrid battery issue. I called customer service and was provided with case number 00174049. The resolution to that call to corporate customer service is that I would receive a call back from the local dealership about a loaner car with about an hour. I became aware of a fourth recall, that the corporate agent referred to as a campaign, pertaining to the steering wheel. I asked my dealership advisor if that can be looked in addition to the other issues. She stated that she could not because it has not been launched. The corporate agent advised me that notification would normally happen 2-3 weeks. I looked up the steering wheel recall on the dep of transportation website. The recall has been published since the 18 of Jan 2024 and have yet to receive notification. I only found out today when I took the vehicle in for inspection.

While driving CX90 PHEV vehicle, a "HAZARD" error displayed on the dashboard and the vehicle stopped driving/accelerating completely. Displayed error reported a Hybrid System Malfunction and instructed driver to switch from hybrid to normal setting. Vehicle would not accelerate despite switch to normal setting and power remaining. Driver powered off vehicle and error remained on display. Driver again powered off vehicle after short wait and error was no longer displayed. Vehicle could then be driven in normal setting. Dealership and manufacturer have been notified with a request for immediate assistance. Vehicle is new and has only been driven for approx. 6 months. No advance warning signs appeared. Internet search reflects a Mazda owners' forum page [XXX] suggests that error has been known for several months with no resolution or recall. A vehicle that shuts down while driving in traffic is a hazard to us all. Responses are requested from both Mazda and NHTSA. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

We called the dealer to have the recall taken care of. We were told that they were not sure if the part would be in in time for the date that they had set to do the fix. HOWEVER, the dealer also told us that we would be secondary to the fix vs their current on the lot inventory that they want to fix to sell! THEN, we will be able to have the required fix as there is availability of the part. Who should come first as this is a safety problem: The loyal customers that are actually out there driving the cars every day under the safety risk or cars sitting on the dealers lots waiting to be sold sometime down the road. Should an existing driver have an issue this would most certainly be a lawsuit. (We are on Facebook Mazda CX-90 North America website. It seems like the fix for this steering problem doesn't fix the issue) This is my second complaint with this vehicle. The first tracking number is: 11554525. NHTSA # 24V-022. (this complaint came as our car was at the dealership for 6 full weeks. They had to drop out the entire motor and transmission!). Pictures below uploaded. We also have been told that there will be several additional recalls to come. We are beyond frustrated with this whole process and car. Thank you for giving us a platform to lodge our concerns and issues.

The “360 View Camera” image periodically goes blank, providing no image, just a blank screen with the colored lines showing vehicle and wheel direction. So when the car is put in reverse or forward, no image of the surroundings are visible. This will not resolve until the vehicle is turned off for an extended period. (An immediate restarting of the car will not resolve.) This car has had the other camera recall addressed and another camera TSB addressed. The issue continues to occur at random, unpredictable times. It has perhaps occurred 10-11 times.

The lane assist safety feature stops working. The car will allow drifting across well-marked lanes, despite being a clean car and a clear weather day. The car will not attempt to keep the car in the lane. The events are unpredictable. I have checked the settings when it has happened and they all appear to be the same - the lane assist and related boxes remain checked, etc. After turning off the vehicle for an hour or two, the system seems to reset and work again. This has happened twice that I know if, but could have happened at other times that I did not notice.
