2024 MAZDA CX-50- Spokane, WA
I purchased my vehicle early August 2024 at Knudson Foothills Mazda in Spokane, Washington. Within the first five hundred miles of use, I noticed that my steering wheel would not maintain center alignment. I took it into the shop explaining my issue and they were fast to acknowledge the alignment was off and that they realigned the vehicle. The steering was off center alignment within 20-40 miles so I again, contacted the dealer and told them I expect a more thorough inspection. They took a brief inspection and realigned the vehicle again. At pickup, the service advisor said "the suspension is settling, this is normal. If it happens again, don't bring it back for 5K miles." They also proceeded to tell me they could not determine the cause, so they called the Mazda Technician hotline which is where they claimed to have got their answer for me. The center alignment did not last more than 20ish miles and has gradually gotten worse. If this were "normal", they would have been able to tell me on the first visit instead of two and having to call their own tech hotline. If this were "normal", I would be able to find reputable sources online confirming this. If this were "normal", I would not have been told to endanger my life for an extended 5K miles before asking for this to be fixed again. I do not feel safe in my car. Each time I call the dealer they tell me to wait until 5K miles. I have filed a complaint with Mazda USA but have not heard anything since. I'm currently looking into attorneys to go after Mazda USA as I feel the vehicle is UNSAFE to drive and they are being NEGLIGENT on their approach with total disregard to consumer safety. Searches online indicate this is likely a result of faulty parts used when the vehicle was manufactured. I do not know what else do to besides file this complaint so a large entity can question Mazda on this SAFETY ISSUE. 1st service/realignment: 9/16/24 - approx 750 miles 2nd service/realignment: 9/25/24 approx 1251miles

2015 MAZDA MAZDA3- Arlington , VA
On Thursday October 9th I drove to work at 11pm and parked my car. I backed up into my space using my back-up camera as I had always did since I had purchased my car in 2019. The next morning when I got home and put my car in reverse to back into my space, I noticed that the back-up camera did not come on. The radio continued to play on the screen, but in never switched over to the camera so that I could use this component to park. After trying several times to try to figure out what the issue was I gave up. I had an appointment that same morning, so I parked my car and came back about an hour later to leave and started my car, pulled out of my space, then put my car in reverse and the camera was back up and running again. I found this to be strange. Most likely this will happen again. I googled/researched this to see if there was a recall for this issue in this make and model and came across a few articles where others had the same or similar complaints. So it all lead me here. It seems as if there is a malfunction in these cameras, if it is happening to others, and happened to me, then it's happening. So what's happening...is my question? Why are these camera not recalled? Do we wait until it shuts down in the middle of us backing up or what? What's next? Can I get someone at Mazda to look at my camera, and replace it? Or is this something I have to live with? I should not have to, neither should I have to pay some outrageous price to get it replace on my own dime. There is definitely an issue with this camera in this make and model. So is anyone going to be fair and do something about this, or wait until there is an accident behind it? If it's a defect in the product, just simply replace it.

Display went dark and did not display. This is not the only time it happens. It acts like someone’s touching the screen even when in motion. It prevents the reverse camera from displaying.

2018 MAZDA CX-9- Mesa, AZ
I purchased a 2018 Mazda cx9 from a local used car dealer several weeks ago. Check engine light came on after a few weeks for cylinder 3 misfire and there was a steep decline of the vehicle performance (hard start, rough idle, lower mpg, sluggish driving). Took it to Berge Mazda who charged me for diagnostics/spark plugs, and ignition coil. They informed me the next steps were a compression tests, fuel injectors and if that didn’t fix the problem then they wanted to strip down the engine to evaluate the cylinder head. At this point I decided to take it to my local mechanic who I trust, he diagnosed a cracked cylinder head. Now I’m stuck with a car I just bought that’s unsafe to drive needing a 6-8k repair. Upon further research there is a widespread problem with Mazda’s manufacturing of there cylinder heads on certain models (including the 2018 Mazda cx9). This is confirmed by TSB’s from Mazda along with a class action lawsuit recently filed. Upon more research on my vehicles history, I gathered that my vehicle was traded into Horne Mazda and then a couple days later auctioned to the used car dealer I bought it from. The fact that Mazda is selling off their own defective vehicles that are unsafe at auctions is absolutely disgusting and something needs to be done about it.

2014 MAZDA MAZDA5- Hollywood, FL
I bought this vehicle as is, about 2 months past, after driving it home I felt after pressing the Brakes pedal that it is not responding until I press 2 or 3 times. I went bnack to the dealer the next day and made a complain. They sent me to their Mechanic who diagnosed the problem to be the ABS Hydraulic Control Unit Assembly. It is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of my family was put at risk because of the fact that I have to pump the brakes to slow the vehicle. Yes the problem was confirmed by the independent Mechanic recomended by the dealer, with a detailed estimate. No inspection was performed by the manufacturer, police or insurance representatives. The service light was on from the day I bought the vehicle.

2024 MAZDA CX-90 PLUG-IN HYBRID- Simpsonville, SC
On my way to drop kid to school all of a sudden the car gave up power and shuddered with engine malfunction and I-drive malfunction warning. Check engine light came on. This is risky because another vehicle could have smashed into us if on highway or high speed. Research shows that a whole lot of people have this identical issue.

2019 MAZDA CX-9- Garfield, NJ
2019 CX-9 GT, 30K miles, in August found coolant leaking under the car. This was 5 months past the warranty (but only 30K miles!). After doing research online, I found this is a massively common issue with all engines from several years encompassing 2019, where the coolant leaks due to a cracked cylinder head. There is a TSB from Mazda, which requires replacement of the engine, once the crack is developed. I immediately called Mazda corporate on 8/15/2024 and opened the case with them. They said they can try to assist, but first I have to take the car to the dealer for diagnosis of the problem. Had to wait 2 weeks, then leave the car, they did a full inspection and confirmed cracked cylinder head. Dealer opened up claim with Mazda (which apparently is separate from the case I made when I called the corporate). I had to go back because Mazda warranty dept. was asking the dealer to prove the engine was overheating, which it hasn't yet, because I kept adding coolant, so the engine never overheated. But the dealer lowered the coolant and had the engine overheat a little bit just to generate the computer code the warranty dept was requiring. This itself was an unnecessary additional potentially damaging scenario, completely unnecessary when the crack in the cylinder head was already found, and the coolant leak is clearly present. After all this, Mazda lowered their original quote from $10K to $6K and expect me to pay this to replace the engine. I called the corporate (customer relations) many times, but they said if the warranty dept. decided this, they cannot change it. And there's no way to talk to warranty dept. directly (not customer facing). We purchased a brand new factory assembled car for well over $40K. Due to a very common, Mazda acknowledged, engine manufacturing defect, the major component of the vehicle, its engine, requires replacement at only 30K miles! This is NOT a reasonable expectancy when purchasing any vehicle.
