2018 MAZDA CX-9- Ypsilanti, MI
While driving on an interstate service drive in Michigan, my 2018 Mazda CX9 GT suddenly lost power and began flashing overheating warnings. I tried to move my vehicle to a safe spot while the warning and sudden loss of power was happening, which took a moment due to traffic flow and my family being in the car. I moved the car off the road, and let it cool. I slowly drove the car to a parts store to get coolant. Once the cooling system was filled, I brought the car home and began researching the problem. According to internet threads like Reddit this is a wide spread problem happening among Mazda vehicles with several law firms researching class action lawsuits. My car is stuck at the dealership until I can find $12,000 to fix it, and sadly there are hundreds more just like me according to sites like [XXX] and [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] And includes a Mazda Service Bulletin which indicates that there are design faults in the original cylinder head that causes the issue and that repair techs should replace failed parts with the updated and redesigned cylinder head. There is a coolant leak at the cylinder head. We have been told that the cylinder is cracked at the back of the cylinder head where the exhaust ports meet. The dealer's technician said there is a "redesign" in the cylinder head. This is a known issue that is a defect apparently due to Mazda's design of securing the turbo on exhaust studs that are not designed to hold the weight. Why has there not been a recall? There is a Mazda TSB - 01-013/21, issued 10/15/2021 Verbal estimate from dealer for repair - over $7,000

2024 MAZDA CX-90- Park Ridge, IL
I was parking the car at a low speed (2mph) when it suddenly accelerated with a great speed, jumped the curb in front and moved forward and up a small hill. The car collided with a tree before I was able to stop it. All ADAS features were activated in the car and no alarms sounded prior or during the event, which lasted between 1-2 seconds. The vehicle was inspected by Mazda and deemed safe to continue to operate. The dealer did not find a cause for the malfunction and suggested external influence. The inspection took about 3hrs, which included addressing multiple recalls on the vehicle. At time of incident I have owned the car for about two months and did not experience similar issues, however others did according to my web search. I found reports on popular forums describing sudden acceleration of Mazda CX-90 vehicles.

2024 MAZDA CX-30- Manchester, NH
I purchased the 2024 Mazda CX-30 from Werner Mazda in Manchester, NH on 12-16-2023. It came with defect(s) that cause interior water buildup on inside windows & roof that also caused the air bag deployers to rust & corrode & for toxic mold to develop in the car. Was obvious soon after I drove the car off the lot on [XXX]. I have taken many pictures & videos of it. Werner Mazda failed to fix the defect(s) / leaks even with video support from Regional Mazda. I filed a Demand For Arbitration with NH New DMV Arbitration Board for a vehicle buyback plus reimbursement of my out of pocket expenses which remains pending as of the date / time of this post (09-14-2024) INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2024 MAZDA CX-30- Chevy Chase, MD
My car is model CX-30 2024 and I bought it a week ago. The car was turned off with the doors open because I was cleaning it. When I wanted to start the car it gave me an error: “Keyless Entry System Malfunction, have the Vehicle Inspected”, also the start indicator light (amber) flashes. After this error message, I couldn't start the car. I called Mazda where I bought it and they told me to do several maneuvers with the key fob, I also tried with the other key fob and after doing thousands of maneuvers the car didn't turn on. They told me to call Mazda's Emergency Roadside Assistance to have them send the tow truck and leave the car in the Mazda workshop. More than 4 hours passed and the tow truck never arrived, I called Mazda roadside assistance again and they told me that there were no tow trucks available and that it would take another 4 or 5 hours to arrive (that is, around 4 in the morning). It was already midnight, it was cold and I had to leave my son alone at home because I couldn't leave the car in the street. I had to call another tow truck company that could assist me faster (they arrived in 30 minutes). I am completely frustrated and disappointed with the Mazda service because in the workshop they said that the key fob was in hibernation and that's why it wouldn't turn on. It's incredible that this happens with a completely new car (1 week old) and that the dealer says that the car doesn't have any problems. This represents a high risk and danger to anyone if the car suddenly doesn't start and there's no way for it to start. In addition, I had tow truck and Uber expenses to be able to transport myself. I urgently need to review this problem with Mazda, as there are no recalls and they do not respond to this problem.

2016 MAZDA CX-5- Warrenton, VA
Vehicle was t-boned by another vehicle that was traveling 40mph. Both front seats are now loose, and have been for some time. Insurance refused to cover seat replacement during repairs in fear of going above the “totaled” threshold and it being a total loss. Now we are concerned about the safety of our vehicle, and we are scared to drive it on major highways where the risk of accidents are higher.

2018 MAZDA CX-5- Hartwell, GA
My car has a center display that is touch screen when you're not driving but once moving you have to use controls to move around the screen. Lately as I'm driving the screen starts moving rapidly into different menus whether it's the music or time or contacts. Most recently it started changing my display from day to night. So that during the day it dims so dark I can no longer use it for mapping causing safety issues. As well, I've tried getting it to stop while driving which is of course not good. Today I was using car play and playing iheart radio and suddenly it was switching to different iheart channels. I've googled and found many other Mazda owners have had the same problem. Some of have gone to the dealership and if out of warranty they've had to pay upwards to $1200. Others have posted videos showing how to DIY it. That's something I'm not going to try as it could end up creating more problems. Apparently this is a result of the touch screen. So people are going through and disconnecting the touch screen capability.

2017 MAZDA CX-5- Valrico, FL
This car has an issue with 'ghost touches' on the infotainment screen. We had it replaced under warranty in January 2020, and the same issue is happening again. Searches online show this is a widespread problem and Mazda wants to charge $1,000 to fix it this time. It is a distraction, turns music on/off volume up/down and can cause dangerous unexpected distractions.
