2024 MAZDA CX-90- Cookeville, TN
My 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV Premium Plus has experienced repeated hybrid system failures. The vehicle currently has an active "Hybrid System Malfunction" warning light. This is the latest in a series of 17 recalls and recurring defects since purchase in July 2023. Most recently, the vehicle was out of service from February 14, 2026 to approximately March 18, 2026 due to a severe transmission fluid leak, which the dealer (Nealson Mazda Cool Springs, TN) acknowledged was common in this model. The current hybrid system malfunction warning poses a direct safety concern as it affects the vehicle's powertrain and reliability. I am a daily driver of this vehicle and have two young children who ride in it regularly.

2022 MAZDA CX-5- Findlay, OH
The mechanical motor assembly inside the adaptive front-lighting headlamp unit has failed on my 2022 Mazda CX-5. This mechanical malfunction severely compromises nighttime driving illumination, creating a direct road hazard by reducing forward visibility during essential evening commutes. An initial repair and parts request was submitted to Mazda several months ago, but no corporate response or resolution was ever received. The vehicle and component are currently available for inspection at Yark Mazda in Toledo, OH, where technicians have confirmed the headlight motor failure. Because the prior request went unanswered, the dealership has advised me to contact Mazda corporate directly to follow up. No dashboard warning lights appeared prior to the component failure.

2024 MAZDA CX-90- Cloverdale, VA
While driving, the vehicle experiences dangerous episodes of what is widely known as "sticky steering." Specifically, when initiating a sweeping left-hand turn, the steering wheel hits a point of sudden mechanical resistance, requiring an unexpected and sudden increase in steering effort to turn the wheel. When trying to maintain or exit the turn, this resistance causes the steering wheel to bind and pull to the right, requiring forceful manual over-correction to keep the vehicle in its lane and prevent a crash. This is an intermittent but recurring mechanical failure that completely disrupts smooth steering operation. It matches the exact profile of the ongoing NHTSA Recall Query into the failure of Mazda's original Recall 24V022 (Campaign 6524A) remedy.

2020 MAZDA CX-9- Cedar Bluff, AL
Prior to [XXX] The vehicle ran rough and sputter excessively. I took car to local repair shop. Diagnostic equipment determined the fuel injector needed to be replaced. Vehicle ran better but continued to sputter and ride rough on occasion. Prior to [XXX], the vehicle stopped operating properly. The vehicle would not travel faster than 20 mph and sometimes would stop completely in the middle of the road. This was a hazardous situation. The vehicle seemed to be starved for fuel. All warning lights were displayed on the short trip home. Being too dangerous to drive the vehicle was towed to a different repair shop. Diagnostic equipment determined the throttle body needed to be replaced. This was done prior to [XXX]. I drove the car less than 5 miles after the 2nd repair and the same behavior returned. Vehicle would sputter run rough sometimes stop etc. All warning lights were displayed. Vehicle seemed to be starved for fuel. Vehicle was towed back to the repair shop. Next step will be to contact Mazda dealership in Huntsville AL and see if they will accept the Vehicle for repairs after I have it towed. In 2024 I started having problems with my battery replaced it 3 times last time with a Mazda battery per Mazda advice. The car started to jerk while driving took it back to Mazda said it could be fuel injectors. They cleaned them and problem persists. Took it back they cleaned purve valve and then I broke down while leaving on [XXX] . Called service dept called police since it was in the middle of the blvd. And in traffic. We were lucky no one hit us. They took my car gave me a loaner had it for 10 days. Couldn’t find any problems. Then in 4/2025 it completely died at my home I called Mazda they were able to jump the battery and had it for a month. Couldn’t find any problem. And now we are in 5/2026 my car was in my drive without out being driven for 3 days and now is dead once again. But it is so dead that I cannot open with fob and dash board is black. Infotainment system randomly makes its own selections. Turns volume up and down, changes settings, changes stations... etc. Anything that can be controlled on the screen is at risk of being randomly hijacked. Once, my drivers assist volume was unexpectedly turned to full blast and randomly shouted "navigation assistant will be at this volume. " I jumped so badly I actually could have crashed if I hadn't been at a light.

The steering wheel does get stuck while turning sometimes and feels very dangerous. This has happened many times and I felt the recall fixed the issue, but does not appear to have fixed it. I do not feel comfortable with family members and my wife does not even want to drive this car anymore.
