I was driving, and all of a sudden, I hear a loud pop above my head. I slow down to investigate and notice the sound of the wind coming from above me. I slide back my sunroof door and the entire glass is shattered. This could’ve been a very dangerous situation as I was driving on the highway and the loud sudden pop without warning could’ve affected me to lose control of my vehicle. I’ve read up on this and have seen that this issue has happened to a number of vehicles and some manufacturers have had a large list of complaints.

Sun/moonroof exploded. My own and others' safety were at risk due to falling broken glass The problem was not confirmed by a dealer yet The vehicle will be inspected from glass company/dealer No warning messages or lights indicated the failure.

I was sitting in the car rider line and my engine started making this loud noise. I looked down at the temperature gage and it started over heating. I went to go pull it over and I noticed that the check engine light came on that's when I was turning in the parking place the engine stalled and i turned the car off. I took it to a local shop and he told me that I need a new engine, because apparently whoever made the car decided it was a grand idea to put the water pump in with the engine. A engine cost about $4,000. Because the water pump is in with the engine it costs about the same as replacing the engine. Thank god I was driving down the main road whenever it happened because me and my daughter could have gotten hurt. Insurance won't pay for it. I don't know how I am going to pay for it.

Low engine oil warning between oil changes. Burned 3+ quarts between 5000 mile and 10,000 mile service.

My wife was pulling into a parking place today with her foot on the brake when the car suddenly accelerated, causing it to jump a curb and come to a stop over two large shrubs, which saved her from entering a busy highway and colliding with another car. This caused damage to the front end of the car and wheel wells. She told me she absolutely did not have her foot on the accelerator at the time. The cruse control was off and the driver's side floor mat was not out of position. She was not injured and the air bags did not go off. We have not yet taken this vehicle in for inspection of this defect. It is in the repair shop right now for body work. Our insurance company has been notified. My wife did not report any warning lights. The vehicle is available for inspection. Prior to this episode, I have noticed that at low speeds, the car tends to "surge" with slight pressure on the accelerator but we did not report that to the dealer.

The contact owns a 2014 Mazda CX-5. The contact stated while turning off the vehicle, she noticed the radio and the instrument cluster remained operational. The contact stated she was also unable to lock the doors. The contact stated she restarted the vehicle and manipulated the gear shifter several times to turn off the vehicle completely. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

The contact owns a 2018 Mazda CX-5. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V875000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated while driving approximately 10-15 MPH, the vehicle started hesitating. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and was able to continue driving. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that though the remedy parts were not yet available, they would put her name on the waiting list. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

My car does not turn off when you push the ignition button. I spoke to Mazda's parts manager about this, and his wife had the same issue and the same model and year as my car. He told me that it is the Parking Lever switch. I feel that not being able to turn your car off is a safety issue. I filed a safety issue with my 2013 Mazda CX-5 on May 26, 2022.

At mileage of 24,993 and on April 24, 2022 my oil light came on, creating a very unsafe situation for myself and my young son, nearly stranding us on a very isolated road after dark. My vehicle has regular maintenance at the dealer and was not due for an oil change until 25,378 miles or June 13, 2022. About 30 miles prior to the engine oil light coming on, my car indicated that an Oil Change was due (prematurely). I added oil to be able to drive it to the dealer who has not verified any issues.

At 10:16 am, I was driving home on Hall Rd. in Michigan. Hall Road is currently under construction and only two lanes are open and the speed is 40mph. It was raining pretty hard and also very windy. I was traveling West in the left lane and i noticed people in front of me began slowing down to about 10mph and going around an object I couldnt see. By the time it was my turn to pass said object, I realized it was a speed limit sign that had been knocked over by the wind. I went around it and pulled off to the side of the road where there was a small patch of flat, clear land (I believe there is a fire extinguisher or some kind of service system there). Try to act fast, I opened my door, removed my seatbelt and after looking for cars behind me, I ran across the road and picked up the large sign and moved it out of the way. By the time I had moved the sign, I noticed cars slowly approaching but were not willing to pass me. Then I heard them honking their horns but because it was raining hard, I couldnt see who or hear what they were saying. I figured Id look back at my car in case that was the reason and sure enough, it was and I jumped out of the way, and watched my car slowly fall off the ledge of the open roads and into the construction area of the new roads (there was a 2-3 foot deep and maybe 1-2 feet wide trench between the open road and the newly paved roads). My car then stopped abruptly, hanging over the ledge. Seeing the car had stopped completely, I opened the door and slowly got the car off the ledge. This did minor damage to the underside of my front and rear bumper but nothing serious. The problem I feel that is evident is that the car never engaged the electronic parking brake. This was a similar issue to what led to the death of [XXX] (granted, his shifting mechanism was an Audi style shifter and was shift-by-wire).
