2022 MAZDA MAZDA3- Altamonte Springs , FL
Car doesn't start if sitting more than 4 days untouched. When i went to the dealer, they informed me they know about the issue but nothing can be done about it. They even told me what the issue was, there's something in the car (they don't know what) that draws a lot of power non stop. kills the battery and some time will get stuck mid ignition. I've replaced the battery a few times as well. It's very stressful trying to deal with it after a 12-16 hour shift at work. knowing it will happened again and again, over and over.

2016 MAZDA CX-5- Oviedo, FL
The airbag warning light is on. I’m concerned the airbag may not deploy in an accident. There was a recall on the airbag, but the dealership only reset the light and did not replace the airbag. I have taken my car to two different Mazda dealerships: One told me I would have to pay for the airbag replacement. The other said the airbag is functioning properly. I’m not sure which one is correct, but the warning light continues to come on. Sometimes it stays on for a couple of days; other times, it flashes on and off intermittently. The airbag light is clearly visible on the dashboard and continues to behave abnormally.

2024 MAZDA CX-30- Fremont, CA
While driving normally at highway speed on I-880 South, the braking system failed to decelerate the vehicle. When the brake pedal was pressed firmly, there was no normal slowing—only a sliding sensation, as if the wheels locked and the car moved forward on ice. This led to a collision with a stopped vehicle ahead. The following day, the Mazda App displayed a red alert message: “Brake system malfunction. Braking effectiveness may be decreased.” The vehicle’s airbags deployed very forcefully, causing bruising to both driver and passenger, even though the impact was not severe. Three days before the incident, the vehicle had a scheduled maintenance and recall service at a Mazda dealer, including a brake inspection and air-bag recall repair. The vehicle was declared a total loss by the insurance company and is currently stored at Copart Hayward, CA. The problem has not been inspected by Mazda yet, but a formal safety review is requested. The issue posed serious safety risks due to total loss of braking control and unexpected air-bag deployment.

2024 MAZDA MX-5- Godley, TX
I was driving on interstate 30 with the cruise control on and I needed to slow down as there was roadwork so I pressed down the brakes to disengage the cruiser control and slow the vehicle down, the vehicle not only not slow down but lunged forward. The brake pedal did not disengage the cruise control after pumping the brake pedal several times and tried to bring the vehicle back to the set speed. I avoided major collision and possible saved my wife's life and mine by going into the grassy center median at 70mph. I had to pull the emergency brake handle to slow the vehicle down enough to stall the engine to come to a complete stop.

2018 MAZDA CX-5- Twinsburg, OH
Driving fine at low speeds (under 40mph), once I accelerate to highway speeds the engine misfires, check engine light flashes, Smart City Brake System Malfunction, Radar Malfunction, and car losses all engine power. Car just coast, lights and brakes still work. Check engine code moves around and will be on cylinder 3 sometimes and cylinder 4 other times. Able to replicate this issue multiple times. Serious safety concern.

2025 MAZDA CX-90 PLUG-IN HYBRID- Monte Vista, CO
On or about [XXX], I leased a 2025 Mazda CX-90 PHEV Premium Sport from Bob Penkhus Mazda, Colorado Springs, CO. Within approximately six weeks, on [XXX], while traveling south on [XXX] from Pueblo toward Walsenburg, the vehicle experienced severe loss of power under load. Despite the accelerator being fully depressed, the vehicle would not exceed 74 mph on the initial incline and later would not accelerate past 64 mph near La Veta Pass, even in sport mode. During an attempt to pass a slow-moving truck, the vehicle failed to accelerate, forcing me to brake hard to avoid a head-on collision. My fiancée and our infant twins were in the vehicle at the time. I immediately contacted Service Manager Steven Constable at Bob Penkhus Mazda. The dealership retained the vehicle for inspection but claimed they “could not duplicate” the issue because “they don’t have mountains to drive it up.” No repairs were made. Instead, I was told to “drive it for 30 days to monitor,” despite the documented safety risk. I refused to assume that risk and requested a repurchase, replacement, or trade into a non-PHEV model. I even offered to accept a lower-trim base model, provided it had captain’s chairs, and to continue paying my current monthly amount. The dealership and General Manager A.J. Ager rejected this and demanded that I personally pick up the unrepaired vehicle, although they knew I live three hours away in Monte Vista and Mazda advertises complimentary pickup service. 2024 MAZDA CX-90- Farmington, MO
The tires are listed with the manufacturer and were sold by Mazda on a brand new car to me as 65,000 mile tires I was at a little over 17,000 when Mazda said they were “wearing” oddly and this past Monday they said I needed replacement tires. The pros at the dealership stated they are seeing all CX-90 and CX-70 hybrids need tires before 25,000 miles. It is all over the internet that people are being told the extra weight and torque from the motor are wearing tires to quickly leading to needing to replace them well before time and or some folks are having tire failures. The couple at 16,000 miles needing tires was horrible to watch. It is my belief that the issue is a Mazda and falken failure due to a tire being used that is not suitable for the performance for the vehicle leading to a failure in safety. The dealership also stated the mileage had been removed from the tire sheet by Mazda for this particular tire in the last couple weeks so consumers can no longer request the printout for the VIN of their vehicle, but the mileage still remains for CX-5 options at 65,000. Mazda knows it is an issue and needs to find a solution quickly before lives are lost.

2016 MAZDA CX-5- POST FALLS, ID
The vehicle's air conditioner expansion valve is defective/malfunctioning. While driving the vehicle with the air conditioning operating a loud whooting noise fills the interior of the vehicle. The noise sounds like the siren/hooting sound the police make when they want you to pull over or get out of their way. But the sound is loud and comes from inside the car jarring the driver and passengers. I purchased the car in early 2017 new. I first noticed the AC issue in the summer of 2018. I brought it up to Herzog-meir mazda (where i bought the car) when scheduling an oil change. they said they could not replicate it and so there was nothing they could do. I brought it to them at least 4 times with the same issue. Each time they sent me on my way and said they couldn't replicate it. I brought it up to Foothills Mazda in Spokane in 2023 and again they said that they couldn't replicate it and sent me on my way. This past august i had to schedule the car for an update covered by a class action lawsuit and had them look at the noise issue again. Prior to scheduling I has research online if others have had the issue and low and behold lots of mazda owners have. It is a known issue that mazda has created a "helpline" to deal with it. So I brought it up while scheduling it and asked to make sure they researched the AC expansion valve prior to my appointment (more than a month out). The Mazda lady that scheduled my appointment heard the noise several times with I was idiling the car and finishing scheduling the appointment. The first available appointment wasn't until Oct 1st so of course it wasn't hot enough outside to replicate the situation that causes the noise. Again, they charged my the diagnostic fee and sent me on my way. [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
