2025 MAZDA CX-5- Overland Park, KS
I pulled the car into garage, and realized it's not inside enough. So I moved the car forward, but forgot to place the shift to P position. With the shift in D position, I shut off the engine, opened the door, ready to get out. I did not notice the car was moving backward, until the open door hit the garage frame. I file a claim with my insurance, had the front door replaced in a local body shop. I confirmed that in D position, with engine shut off, the car can move freely in my drive way. I did have this issue in my other two cars, I occasionally forgot put the shift from D position to P position, but the car did not move. This issue - a car can move freely without driver's awareness - is a serious and dangerous issue. If this happens in the street, a serious crash can occur. The car manufacturer should figure a way to prevent this from happening when the shift is in D position and engine is shut off.

Back up cameras fail infotainment system reboots and maps on the system inadvertently counts stops plus changes volume at loudspeaker telling me “this is the level “ and is on highest volume. Which you can’t turn down. All are dangerously interfering with driving. Please put pressure on Mazda to fix and not just update software when the problem has been fixed called CMU

2018 MAZDA CX-5- Plymouth Meeting, PA
I own a 2018 Mazda CX-5. I currently have 64,770 miles on the car. I have had a burning smell and smoke coming from the engine. The car was taken to the dealer (John Kennedy Mazda Conshohocken) and I was told it was fixed by replacing a gasket. The smell and smoke persisted. I took it back to the dealer and now I am told there is a leaking cylinder head. I do not feel safe driving this car especially with my kids in the car while the engine is smoking. I have had to pull over on the highway due to this. No warning lights were on until a week prior to taking it back a second time when my oil light finally came on.

2023 MAZDA CX-5- Nashua, NH
The driver-side power door mirror on my 2023 Mazda CX-5 vibrates excessively at highway speeds above 75 mph, especially on windy days. The vibration is so severe that it causes a blurred and distorted view, making it difficult to clearly see vehicles in adjacent lanes. This poses a significant safety risk, as it impairs my ability to make safe lane changes and monitor surrounding traffic. I brought the issue to the attention of my Mazda dealership during a scheduled service appointment, but they dismissed it as "normal" and quoted approximately $700 to replace the mirror - despite the fact that this appears to be a known issue with Mazda vehicles. Numerous owners of recent Mazda models have reported similar problems online, yet Mazda has not issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) for the 2023 CX-5. I am attaching a previous TSB (09-002/13) that Mazda released for earlier CX-5 models (2013–2014), which addressed the same mirror vibration issue through structural reinforcement and mirror replacement. This suggests the problem may still persist in newer models. The mirror is available for inspection upon request. No warning lights or messages were displayed, and the issue began shortly after I started driving the vehicle on highways. 2023 MAZDA CX-5- West Allis, WI
The adaptive headlight system and motor in 2023 Mazda CX-5 has defect and it makes buzzing noise and vibration. It was recognized by Mazda and its known defect. They should replace the defective headlight system even after the warranty period since this is not normal wear and tear part.

2018 MAZDA MAZDA3- Perry, FL
The touch screen in my car has developed a malfunction known as “ghost touch,” where the screen glitches and registers inputs I am not making. This failure involves the infotainment system, and the component is still available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others were put at risk because the screen can suddenly change settings, including navigation, phone, and climate controls, while I am driving, which is distracting and dangerous. The problem has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, nor has the vehicle been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms before the failure—it began suddenly and recently without prior indication.

2024 MAZDA CX-50- Blue Ash, OH
The vehicle had the original OEM battery fail at 15 months. It dropped to 7v under light load. It's a bad battery. Upon being jump started, the power steering went in and out while driving and the dashboard blinked on and off...throwing a lot of errors that are unrelated to the battery problem. The failure state of the vehicle with a bad battery is unlike any vehicle I have ever seen and it is extremely dangerous. Furthermore, Mazda roadside assistance does not know about this issue and only offers jumpstarts, putting customers into danger by suggesting that the vehicle is safe to drive with a battery that is not stable.

2024 MAZDA CX-90 PLUG-IN HYBRID- Corona, CA
Ever since the lease of this vehicle on January 2025 we’ve had problems with the brake/rotors took it in twice for that. As of recent August 2025, we took it in for loss of power going up a hill, hybrid malfunctioning electrical system going out. Dealership gave it back saying everything was fine. We took it on August 29, 2025 to Colorado vehicle failed to perform loss of power going up the mountain almost got hit by a vehicle because I was in a fast lane with my family had to pull over with whatever power I had left in the engine (not the battery). I mean the vehicle just keeps failing to perform as it should as well on the way back. It had the same issues but as severe going to Colorado.Vehicle does not change gears going uphill. When we stopped in Vegas for fuel, fuel door did not open it & malfunctioned. So vehicle does not perform well in cold and hot weather AWD system does not work at all. We feel a jerking, we hear a whistling’s type of noise that the dealership fell to inspect. Per them everything worked fine but when we took it to Colorado this weekend for Labor Day, vehicle underperformed with extreme safety concerns and we contacted Mazda, but they fell to listen to our concerns and say the vehicle is fine but when you drive the vehicle, it does not perform as it should and is a safety hazard to us and anybody around us due to a loss of power and everything I described above.

2024 MAZDA CX-90- Ontario, CA
"The steering wheel intermittently sticks and feels resistant when switching lanes or making turns, especially at highway speeds. It does not return smoothly to center, making it feel unsafe and unpredictable. I brought the vehicle to the Mazda dealership, but they stated they 'cannot replicate the issue' and refused to perform any repairs. This is a safety concern because the sticky steering can make it difficult to control the vehicle and could potentially lead to a crash. There are no warning lights or error messages displayed when this occurs. The issue happens intermittently, making it hard to demonstrate on demand, but it is recurring and worsening. Since this is a brand-new 2024 Mazda CX-90, I believe this could indicate a defect in the electric power steering system or related components."
