2025 MERCEDES-BENZ GLC 300 Complaints

The liftgate on this car is faulty. There are hundreds of reports online that I found when it happened to me, which has been several times now. The liftgate has a sensor that is activated by your foot, but when you are inside the hatch it will trigger and close on you. There is no sensor to stop it from falling and it traps you inside and has hit me on the head, bruised my shoulders and back and I have fallen from being hit by it. I have reported it to Mercedes several times and asked them to at least cover the sensor and they say it's not possible. This is dangerous and it's going to seriously injure or kill somebody younger or more feeble.

Information screens; speed, gear etc. and middle screen, radio, gps, etc, go blank. Screens are black with no information. There’s also a popping sound happening in the background over the speakers. You can start the car and put it in gear and drive - but with no information in either computer screens. Safety issue for sure! After waiting approximately 3 hours, the 2 screens come on when car is started.

Vehicle experiences a severe, abrupt jerk/jolt during deceleration around the 5th-to-4th gear downshift. The issue occurs consistently when slowing down. Dealership verified the condition on Repair Order #1906625 and confirmed a transmission flaw. Dealer stated software is required from the manufacturer with no ETA for release. The abrupt deceleration creates unexpected cabin jolting during normal traffic slowing.

The screen goes blank not only in the middle where the maps, air conditioning and radio is but the screen where the speed gas tank are as well. We have taken the car in at least 5 times stayed the issue and were told there’s no recall yet for the car. I see here that there is. The car was a Richmond Mercedes today the screen went down amd I was told there’s no fix but maybe I could look on the internet. So here I am!

My vehicle's infotainment system both center console and dashbboard went completely black 2 weeks after I purchased the car in August of 2025. The vehicle was in the shop for a week and a half, and they finally fixed the issue. The vehicle at the time was bought used with about 2,200 miles on it at time of purchase. Now in July of 2026, exactly one year from the day i bought the car, with only 9,500 miles on it, we are having the same issue again with both the dashboard and center console going completely dark, not allowing us to see any critical information such as MPH, gas fuel, tire pressure, etc. Other than that the car seems to drive just fine. I noticed there was a mass recall of 144,000 cars because of this same issue with Mercedes Benz. The GLC-class was in fact listed on this list of eligible recall vehicles. However my VIN # was not eligible for some reason, even though it is the exact issue that the recalls were happening on, and fits within the recall class type and year of manufacture (2024-2026). I am simply requesting to be put on this recall list because it seems like this issue will continue to persist and we do not want to be turning this in every year and also risk our lives driving a car that does not give us very critical information in order to drive safely.

The instrument cluster display went dark and has not been able to display any information such as speed in miles per hour, fuel gauge, and other important information needed to maintain safe driving.

The contact owns a 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at 5 to 10 MPH attempting to park the vehilce lunged forward traveling 20 feet and crashed into the house. The air bags deployed. No warning lights were illuminated , There was no injuries or fire. A police report was filed. The gas company was on the scene due to a gas leak. Additionally the vehilce was serviced for electrical issues. While reversing in the snow the vehilce lunged 20 feet and crashed into a unknown vehicle causing a scratch. The local dealer was contacted where the EDR was requested. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehilce was towed to a towing lot. The manufacturer was not contacted The failure mileage was approximately 17,107. The vehicle was deemed a total lost.

In multiple incidents, the tailgate has begun to close while I am loading or unloading items from the trunk, hitting me in the head. My natural reaction is to lift up, causing injury to my neck. The dealer unsuccessfully "fixed" the problem. Additionally, and unrelated to the closing problem, on multiple occasions, upon pushing the close button on the tailgate when it was in an open position, the tailgate reaches the floor of the trunk, then without locking, opens about one (1) foot. The dealer "could not duplicate" the problem. I have to manually close the tailgate. You ask when did this happen, the latest incident is the date reported below, but the two issues/problems have reoccurred time and time again since we bought the vehicle new.

All of the screens in the car failed to start. They remained black while the car was running. Turning the car off did nothing. Drove to a parking lot, turned the car off, got out, locked the car, waited 5 minutes and it still didn't come back. Had to do a reboot by holding the system power button for 10 seconds. This has occurred 3x in 9,200 miles.

The contact leased a 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC300. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH, the instrument panel and the infotainment system screen turned black, and the vehicle made abnormal electrical snapping sounds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where two software resets were performed days apart; however, the failure persisted. The dealer informed the contact that upon performing a third software reset and replacing the circuit breaker fuse, the vehicle would be repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were contacted and informed the contact that it was a common failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,700.
