2024 MERCEDES-BENZ GLS 450 4MATIC- Hampton, VA
On November 30, 2024, I purchased a new 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC equipped with factory-installed Pirelli tires (size: P 275/45HR21 front; 315/40HR21 rear). At the time of the accident on February 22, 2026, the vehicle had only 15,257 miles. While driving on the interstate in wet conditions, the tires failed to provide adequate traction, causing the vehicle to hydroplane. The loss of traction felt as though the vehicle was driving on ice and was inconsistent with over a year of prior operation in similar weather conditions without issue. The suspected components involved include the Pirelli tires, as well as the Electronic Stability Program (ESP), traction control system, and 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, which did not appear to effectively intervene. The vehicle spun and was involved in a crash, placing myself, my wife, and my child—who has Autism—at significant risk, along with surrounding motorists traveling at interstate speeds. Despite visible tread remaining, the tires did not perform as expected. Based on warranty expectations of approximately 50,000 miles, the apparent performance failure at only 15,257 miles raises serious safety concerns. The vehicle is currently at a collision repair facility and is available for inspection. The issue has not been reproduced, and a manufacturer inspection is pending. The vehicle has been inspected by law enforcement and insurance representatives. There were no warning lights or alerts related to traction, stability, or tire performance prior to the incident. As a result, the vehicle was rendered undrivable, required towing, and has been under repair for over a month, causing significant inconvenience and financial impact. I am requesting a formal investigation and review for appropriate resolution.

2019 MERCEDES-BENZ GLC 300- Upper Arlington, OH
I have a MC Benz 300 GLC with $50,000 miles. I was having heating issues so took it to the dealership, which basically advised of the issue describer below, which would cost $14k to repair. Contaminated coolant in Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 models often results from the internal failure of a "desiccant bag" inside the coolant expansion tank, which disintegrates, releasing material that clogs the heater core. Symptoms include black residue in the tank, reduced cabin heat, and engine overheating. Key actions include replacing the expansion tank (reservoir) and flushing the entire system.

2024 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG C43 4MATIC- LAUREL, MD
While driving on the highway with the panoramic sunroof open, the glass suddenly shattered, sounding like a gunshot or an explosion. Shards of glass flew into the vehicle and rained down on me, creating a very hazardous driving situation. I did not observe any foreign object that could have caused the sunroof to break.

2015 MERCEDES-BENZ GL450- Acworth, GA
My 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 experienced an unexpected vehicle fire on Feb 13th 2026. The vehicle was just parked when I noticed smoke from the engine. The vehicle caught fire within a short period of time, and 911 was called. There was no known external cause for the fire. The incident appeared to originate from the engine compartment. This created a serious safety hazard and posed a risk of injury and property damage. The fire required immediate response from the fire department, and the vehicle was declared a total loss. The vehicle is currently in the possession of the insurance company. This incident raises concerns about a potential mechanical or electrical defect. A vehicle should not catch fire under normal operating or parked conditions. I am requesting that this incident be reviewed as a potential safety defect.

2022 MERCEDES-BENZ EQB 300 4MATIC- Snohomish, WA
We are currently under NHTSA Recall ID: 26V073 and Mercedes-Benz has not given us a reasonable timeline with which they intend to remedy the recall. We are currently unable to drive the car safely and unable to park the car safely without the risk of fire. To not have any answers as to when this recall will be remedied is unacceptable.

2023 MERCEDES-BENZ EQB 250+- Williamsburg, VA
I am submitting this complaint regarding an active fire-risk recall on my Mercedes-Benz EQB and MBUSA’s refusal to provide a safety remedy. My vehicle was previously placed under a no-drive instruction due to the fire-risk recall. MBUSA attempted a remedy, but that remedy failed, and the safety impairment remains. Despite this, MBUSA Customer Care has declined to confirm or deny a safety-related repurchase and has stated that their goodwill options (loaner, rental, storage, and cash considerations) are their final position. These goodwill measures do not address the underlying safety defect. I have repeatedly asked MBUSA to confirm whether they are denying a safety-related repurchase under the active fire-risk recall, the prior no-drive instruction, the failed remedy attempt, and the ongoing safety impairment. They have refused to answer this question and have stated there is no further escalation within their department. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in reviewing this matter, as the manufacturer has not provided a safety remedy and is refusing to address the safety-related repurchase question. Thank you for your attention to this safety concern. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
