2006 PONTIAC SOLSTICE- Myrtle Beach, SC
I have an alarm on my car that states the air bag needs service. I utilized a code reader which indicated there is a failure with the passenger air bag system. I checked for recalls and found one ( NHTSA : 17V061). The vehicle is a 2006 Pontiac Soltice. I contacted three local GM dealers about making a repair. All stated they do not make repairs only on types of vehicles they sell. Thet do not repair Pontiacs. I contacted GM at [XXX]. The representative stated the recall had been completed, which I strongly dispute. I told the representative I have no knowledge of any such repair being performed. The representative generated a case number, case #XXX. She told me it would be up to me to find a dealer to make the repairs. I am totally dissatisfied with the response from GM and its dealers and would ask for any assistance you can provide. 2007 PONTIAC G5- BROOKDALE, CA
While traveling I lost assisted steering to my vehicle, this was while traveling at a low speed, and while cornering. This mechanical failure caused my vehicle to travel off the road causing personal damages. I've since learned of manufacture recalls that describe this situation. I've experienced it once prior while in traffic. other than towing it home I've no contact with any insurance or other people and I cannot seem to sell it in its current condition. The ignition problem is present every time I insert my key or remove it. I've not yet had any inspection done to it.

2008 PONTIAC G6- Debord, KY
While driving my 2008 Pontiac G6 Base, I lost electrician power to the vehicle, on my car it utilizes an electric power steering module instead of fluid and a pump. When I lost power to the car the wheel became stiff but when I regained power the steering column while the vehicle was in motion did what I can only describe as "Forced knockback or steering" as when I attempted to tightly turn the wheel or turn at all the car steering wheel would yank the wheel free from my hands and prevent turning. This is extremely dangerous and especially if the car would be at high speeds or speeds needed to reach normal highway travel like 50 to 65 mph.

2010 PONTIAC G6- Phoenix, AZ
I lost my low beams about a year ago and also one high beam. Just one month ago that headlight went out also. I have read that there are wiring problems r/t the Pontiac G6. I am unable to drive my car at night without headlights. The fuses, bulbs and relay switches are intact and working. My mechanic says it’s a wiring problem. Is the manufacturing company responsible for this kind of problem? Other electrical issues are present. When my seatbelt is on I get a message that it is not. Sometimes if I wiggle or reinsert it the light goes out, but more often than not it is on. I also get messages that says my airbag isn’t working on drivers side. The check engine light goes on and off if I hit a good size bump. I also had a mechanic spray WD40 under my drivers seat and that made the check engine light go out for several months.

2006 PONTIAC G6- Lakeside, MT
The vehicle experienced a complete failure of the Electric Power Steering (EPS) motor, matching the identical failure symptoms of NHTSA Recall 15V064000, but this specific VIN is excluded from the campaign. Operating this vehicle without electronic power assist put extreme torsional stress on the manual steering linkage over time. On August 14, 2025, while executing a low-speed turn in a drive-through, the intermediate steering shaft suffered a catastrophic structural failure and completely snapped in half. This resulted in an immediate, total loss of steering control and required the vehicle to be flatbed towed from the scene. The subsequent free-spinning of the steering wheel also tore and destroyed the internal airbag clockspring, disabling the driver's safety restraint system. Photographic evidence of the failure and the resulting tow has been retained. A safety defect file must be opened as this excluded VIN presents a severe public hazard due to the unaddressed factory EPS defect.
