Just purchased this vehicle from an independent dealer. Each time I test drove the vehicle, I put my seat belt on and after a few seconds of driving the driver's seat belt would come unlatched. Sales person told me that perhaps I wasn't latching it (false latch). After purchase, it has unlatched during my first day of driving it. I see that there are other customers complaining of the same issue on the NHTSA website.

OIl leak from "Brocken aluminum bolts" that do not hold up and are failing to hold up from basic car use. A safety recall on this manufacturing parts issue should have been mandatory back in 2015. When this issue started and Macan 2015-2022 all have this issue and are now been replaced with steel bolts. It is costing consumers $2000-$8000 in repairs do the safety issues of bad manufacturing of bolts used . [XXX] Sounds similar to the fiasco with the 958.1 gen Cayenne V8s using aluminum bolts for the Variocam adjusters in the engine which eventually resulted in a NHTSA mandated recall due to the bolt heads sometimes shearing off and causing all sorts of nastiness (my Cayenne Turbo had this recall). Of course the Cayenne's instance of using inappropriate aluminum bolts/fasteners resulted in much more serious consequences \than a just slow oil leak/seepage as is the case as its not been totally documented with the Macan V6s yet , but not good in either case. <sigh> should have recalled on all V6 MACANS also! A partial repair was done by Porsche in Sep 2023 and in [XXX] I have another oil leak from another aluminum bolt breakage . Dear NHTSA, I am writing to express a serious safety concern regarding the dashboard of my 2016 Porsche Cayenne S. The leather on the dash has begun to shrink and is no longer fitted properly. This misalignment is causing me significant worry about the potential impact on airbag deployment in the event of an accident. Given the crucial role that the dashboard and its covering play in the proper functioning of the airbag system, this issue could compromise the airbags' deployment or effectiveness. This is not only a major safety concern but also poses a risk of the airbags failing to protect occupants as intended, potentially leading to severe consequences during a collision. I am aware that this problem is not unique to my vehicle, as several other owners of the same model have reported similar issues. The potential impact on safety is alarming, and I believe this requires immediate attention. I kindly request that you investigate this issue urgently and advise on the appropriate resolution to ensure the safety of the vehicle’s airbag system. Prompt action is essential to address this potential risk.

The contact owns a 2015 Porsche Macan S. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard. The contact stated that the parking brake was used to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with hydraulic brake fluid line failure. The contact was informed that the hydraulic brake fluid line needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,600.

I was making a left turn after being stopped at a traffic light - just a few moments after the turn, all of a sudden I experienced violent jerking motions of the car, and lost all power in the middle of traffic, and rolled to a complete stop. This was an exceptionally dangerous place to just have the car stop responding. I noted an error message "Engine Control Error" with a red ring around it in the rightmost instrument cluster. I turned on my hazard lights; other electrical functions were still working in the car (e.g. music was still playing over the audio system). I power cycled car off and then on again, and cleared the error, and the car drove normally again. The problem did not recur despite driving about 5 miles more on the way home. I have stopped and started car and drove brief periods several times since then without issue. The state of charge was about 75%, having charged last night at home on AC to 80%. Ambient temperature outside was hot today, almost 90 degrees F, and very humid.

On December 24, 2023, my family and I were involved in a serious accident while driving our 2023 Porsche Taycan. I was making a left turn at approximately 10 mph when a 2009 Honda Fit, traveling in excess of 65 mph, crossed into oncoming traffic and struck the left side of my vehicle. The impact was concentrated on the area around the front door, fender, and left-side charge port, causing over $60,000 in damage and rendering the vehicle a total loss. Despite the severity of the impact, the side curtain airbags failed to deploy. This malfunction significantly compromised the safety of my family, leading to a 60% tear in my left rotator cuff, which required surgery. The failure of the airbags exposed both me and my family to a greater risk of serious injury or death. The body shop recommended by the dealer, as well as the dealership itself, have both acknowledged this issue. The body shop could not understand why the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle remains available for inspection upon request. Prior to the incident, there were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms indicating any potential problems with the vehicle’s safety systems. The failure of these critical components was only discovered as a result of this accident.

Car has collision detection and remedy system that detects for impending collision and activates braking. Incident occurred when the car in front abruptly brakes and my car detected collision and applied brakes, however, the brakes were not fully applied and would not completely stop to avoid colliding with the rear end of the car. Most importantly, the car would not respond to me pushing the brakes. I tried a couple of times in the short time before I had to turn into the next lane to evade collision. Luckily there were no car next to me. Also the pedal sometimes need to be pressed hard for the brakes to work effectively, and feel the brakes are soft. This happened a few times and both instances were reported to Porsche dealer. This is very dangerous as it occurs when you least expect, and leaves no error code. Dealer found the pedals to be ‘soft’ and adjusted but brake fading issue still persist. This car is a death trap with many recalls including battery bricking on the highway rendering the car immobile in the middle of traffic. Porsche should be forced to buy the car back.

Porsche dashboard leather has strunk and separated from the main dashboard. My understanding is that in the event of an accident, this could interfere with the airbag's ability to deploy correctly. A Porsche dealer has reviewed but was unable to repair it. The next step would be to replace. I've discovered this is a very common issue with Porsche vehicles from model years similar to this one.

Steering wheel feels loose. able to wiggle the wheel top to bottom and side to side at leas 1/4-1/2 inch of play. The optional Leather Dashboard is peeling away from the base of the windshield. The cutout in the leather that aligns with the passenger airbag is now out of alignment and there is concern if the airbag will deploy properly in an accident.
