2014 RAM 1500 Complaints

Steering wheel locked during a slight left hand curve and drove into the oncoming traffic! Thank God the oncoming traffic was far enough away to stop before hitting me head on! Upon researching this, it appears to be an ongoing issue and owners are forced to buy a complete rack and pinion set up of which are very limited in availability! An electronic EPS with no available electronic board ????? Ever heard of right to repair but beyond that had oncoming traffic not been aware there could have been a major head on collision with serious injuries or even someone DEAD!

The ABS module (anti-lock brake module) has stopped working. My abs light, parking brake light, and traction control light stay on all the time and my anti-lock brakes are not working. This is SO common with 3rd generation Ram 1500’s (2013-2018) and I don’t understand why the abs module has not been recalled yet? The cost to replace the abs module is extremely expensive and if it a poorly designed part that will fail, Mopar should recall the part and replace it.

We have a 2014 dodge ram 1500 SLT with a 5.7 hemi. I was driving down the road and stopped at a red light and the truck shut off and wouldn't start again we had to tow it home. We had a mechanic look at the vehicle and run the codes for the truck to find out what was wrong it was a misfire in cylinder 3. We called a few mechanic shops in town to get other opinions and they all said the same thing its more than likely the lifters or the camshaft is bad and its a very common problem with this model truck with the engine and it would cost over $5,000 to fix it. I spoke to the dodge dealership in our town they said the same thing its more than likely the lifters they see it all the time and its around $5,000 plus to fix. Why is this allowed to happen if so many people are having this specific issue with this specific truck and this specific problem with the engine and cost us thousands to fix. This is a major safety issue what if the engine stopped while I was driving this could cause an accident. If you look it up online as well everyone is saying the same thing their problem was with the lifters. We haven't been able to get it fixed because of the cost and the cost to tow it to a mechanic. We just have it sitting in our driveway and when I found out so many others have this same issue something needs to be done.

The ABS Module, part 68228991AD in the 2014 Ram 1500 has failed on my truck and in a large number of vehicles i have found on Ram Truck forums. The failure of this part is impacting multiple systems in my truck and and has made those systems inoperable including ABS, stability control, trailer brake control, cruise control, and potentially others. I don't understand why a recall for this problem has not been issued. To add, the parts have been completely unavailable from Mopar or any supplier. I've had this problem since June 2025 and no part availability anywhere and my son has been driving the vehicle because we have no other choice but to drive this vehicle. Please advise soonest about what can be done to help remedy this situation, I am very concerned about the safety of those driving this vehicle with this problem. Thank you

My vehicles steering wheel wiring harness rubbed against the driver air bag module retainer spring causing it to break and now the parts need to be replaced. This was a validated recall on other models but for some reason it is not appearing under my VIN. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID: 15V459000 My vehicle is currently scheduled to get repaired by my mechanic but I believe this should be reimbursed as it was a reported recall on extremely similar models.

Intermittent loss of power steering due to faulty EPS module. Warning in dash says service power steering. When this happens there is no power assist. Unit had been checked and verified that power, ground, and all other wires are i. Good working order. Problem is within EPS module.

Electric power steering is lost when weather is cold but as soon as the truck warms up the power steering starts to work again

Drove truck to work, was losing power steering intermittently with no dash or warning lights. While operating the vehicle the steering will become so hard that it feels like it could jerk your shoulder off. Steering is fine when driving straight, any turns causes the power steering to intermittently quit working, causing you to have to correct it so hard that you almost overturn the vehicle because the steering gets so tight and then lets loose. This vehicle is not currently safe to be operated. Have since tried to drive the vehicle and only get it backed out of the driveway and experience the same issue. Will have to have it towed. I have had a shop check over the vehicle, they have advised the power steering rack and pinion will need to be changed.

This is getting ridiculous. Every time my vehicle is washed at the dealership with the high power jets, water gets into the vehicle from the third brake light and blows the bulb. As a disabled vet, it is getting impossible to climb into the bed and replace. This time, I took it to the dealership, which they replaced. They solution? The third brake light unit needs to be sealed, including on all the other Rams including the news one. If Stellantis is aware of this, why is this not a recall? Their next recommendation? Stop getting the truck washed. Is dirty Rams everywhere the advertisement Stellatis wants? The new slogan should be, "buy a Ram, just don't wash it...ever". The third brake light bulb will not blow when the truck is detailed or it a normal to light rain. Between the heavy rains and the dealership's high powered water jets, there is a permanent water stain on my headliner. The dealership warned me that if too much water gets inside, it will damage the RTF (?), which will render the truck useless. This has been an ongoing problem since I have owned the truck, which was purchased in 2015 or 2016. I want to know directly from Stellantis that if I replace the third brake light (again), but with an aftermarket LED unit, will the light continue to leak. If you conduct an online search, you will see how many other Ram owners have the same problem, yet Stellantis does nothing. If Ram's high powered water jets blow the bulbs, why does Ram still use the high powered jets? I am asking that Stellantis replace all the Ram third brake lights with aftermarket LED units and seal those units. Additionally, I need my headliner replaced. Attached is today's receipt of the bulb being replaced along with my stained headliner. A vehicle cannot pass a safety inspection with the third brake light out. You can even see on the dealership's comments, "Do Not Wash Indefinitely".

All summer my pickup was fine, now that it is getting colder my power steering isn't working anymore. Seems like anything below 32° and my power steering will kick off and stop working. It has almost caused multiple crashes since the vehicle is hard to steer. I got it diagnosed by a dodge dealership, and they told me the internal control board is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced.
