Our power steering has stopped working and there was a recall on Ram 1500 models for this defect but not for the 2014 which has the same steering component. We would like the 2014 model and any model that has the same defective steering to be included. This is a very expensive fix and very dangerous to operate like this

We were driving down the highway and heard a weird grinding type noise. We pulled right over to check what was wrong and noticed the fuel tank strap mount had broken apart at the frame from corrosion. Causing it to rest against the driveshaft and creating a deep groove in the driveshaft its self .

ABS module for 2014-2016 Ram 1500 5.7l is (and has been) on ‘indefinite back order’. I researched and found that I am far from unique when it comes to this assembly. The ABS module failure also causes issues with traction control. Due to lack of parts, and high cost of repair, I was concerned with the safety of this truck. Over the last week, I was forced to trade in the truck.

I purchased This truck new in 2014 and have had very few problems with it, but now the ABS module is defective which affects the brakes, traction control, cruise, with all lights on. In driving the vehicle under wet roads it has gone out of control and is dangerous. Ram has told me that the parts are back ordered and recently gave me incorrect information as to the extent of this parts problem. I paid over 50k for this vehicle to keep in my older years and I do not want to have to change now . This is a real problem that could get someone hurt or killed. They say it is not a recall issue but there are thousands of these parts needed and Ram seems to [XXX]. I don't usually voice a complain but this hits home to me. The BRAKE, and and traction control module all illumated at the same time and stay on. The screen on the dash also says service anti lock brake system so I had it put on a code reader and it says the problem is the abs control module

The ABS, Traction Control, Trailer Breaking lights are on also impacting Adaptive Cruise Control making them all inoperable, even though the truck is still able to be drive, albeit unsafely. I took it to my local repair shop and was told the ABS Controle Module, part number 68228991AD was identified as bad and in need of replacing at approximately $2000 and that the part is on indefinite backorder. I tried to locate the part on my own and there is in fact a nationwide backorder. After further investigation, I found multiple owners on Ram forums either having or have had the same problems. On one parts website, I found this message regarding the part: PART ON HOLD UNTIL ENGINEERING REVIEW IS COMPLETE, EXP - MAR 20TH, 2025. Located at: [XXX] This is not just an issue with 2014 Ram trucks, but extends to other model years using the same part number. This is a huge safety issue that should be addressed through a recall and the NHTSB has the power to right this wrong. Stellantis is doing what large corporations do and protecting their bottom line at the expense of putting customers' safety at risk. We are the little guys with limited financial means and power, to go up against a large corporation to get them to act and do what is right. Please advise soonest. The abs module for this vehicle has failed and is a major safety hazard. A known issue that has been on going with this particular part for years. I myself have waited over 6 months with a lemon of a truck because the part is on back order. We have called multiple dealerships and their response has been, “the part is on manufacturing review. “ No recall for this specific part has been issued and no dealership/insurance or Chrysler themselves have not provided us or any others with a solution.

Vehicle is a 2014 Ram 1500 with electric rack and pinion steering. The truck has 96XXX miles on it. When starting the truck the "service power steering" warning comes on in the info center and truck does not have power steering and is very difficult to turn. There have been times that the steering warning lamp is on on startup (different than the "service power steering" warning) and the steering doesn't work . This is a widespread issue with this model of truck. After trouble shooting it has been determined the electronic module is bad and it is $4200.00 to replace at the dealer. There was a limited recall on the 2016 models for the same problem but for a very limited number of trucks. This is an ongoing issue for these trucks. It's not a mater of if they fail it is a matter of when. Most of the reports I have read is that they fail between 60- 100K miles. This is Very dangerous if it fails when driving. Since this has been not recalled the problem doesn't show up on a carfax or any other car reports so you have no idea this is a thing until it happens to you.
